This is NOT a hotel you want to stay at. I frequent here for work when I travel, but I really do not enjoy it. This hotel has such a bad ambiance in its hallways, it feels like you are walking through a horror film. The carpets are dreadful, the wallpapers are peeling off the walls and the front desk people generally want to be left alone. I stayed in a about a dozen different rooms so far, and I really just say that each one was worse than the last. Markings on furniture, weird moldy smells in the bathrooms, and odd "stains" litter the furniture. Really makes you wonder just how low standards can get before you need to make a change. I'd rate it one star, but the hotel, at best, does it's job. It's not like the service is bad or that I can't sleep. But it's not s good sleep, and that's something that matters to me quite a bit when I need to work the next day. Really unfortunate that this place is so unkempt, I've been to other Ramada Inns before and this one is easily the most sketch I've had the displeasure of staying at. read more

Thas at front desk was absolutely horrific! My family and I booked two rooms for a funeral, and my service animal was not checked in since I personally arrived a day after them. Instead of calmly bringing it to my attention and discussing the proper protocols, he loudly berated me as if I was a child and/or a thief. Exhausted from funeral services earlier that day, I let him have his moment and warned Corporate and ADA Association will be hearing about this. Furthermore, one of the rooms which was booked for 3 nights, received absolutely NO turndown service and towels had to be requested -ridiculous! I was advised Shashin G was the manager and would give me a call but that has yet to happen. This place needs to be put out of its misery. read more

HORROR!! This hotel is the old Victory Motor Inn. A 4 hour sleazy motel. Even with a name change it's the same. THIS WILL ALWAYS BE THE VICTORY MOTOR INN NO MATTER WHAT THE SIGN SAYS... First I booked through Priceline, biggest mistake ever. Get to the hotel after midnight with my wife and 3 year old daughter and they tell me I booked a smoking room. Uh NO! I have a baby. Well they have no other rooms.. After a fuss magically a non-smoking room appears. We get in the room and there are no blankets just what appears to be "White" sheets. One of them with a burn in it. Ok really no blankets, I continue through the room and find 1 bath towel and 2 hand towels. REALLY!! We just landed want to bath 3 people so we call for more towels. NO MORE TOWELS. In rage I head down and the lady hands me 1 extra towel from behind the counter. No I am in an up roar. Too late to check out so we do not unpack with the intention of sleeping the night and leaving the next day to the Hilton or the Hampton Inn. Pubic hairs all over the bathroom, my wife is cleaning as I made sure my daughter did not touch the floor of the room. There was blood stains on the wall behind the door. It was disgusting. I can go on and point out other things but I will move to the next day and leave it to imagination. When I requested to check out and for them to credit me they said that I was responsible for the FULL 4 days because I booked through priceline and that priceline did not allow a credit. So I called priceline and priceline said as long as the hotel agreed they had no problem. I was standing right there when Priceline called and I heard the front desk person speaking with them saying "My system does not allow me to do that" Really your system?? I am from San Francisco and work in high tech, I am an avid traveler and have traveled the world. The only reason I am ion Ramada is because I came home to see family. Priceline came back on the phone with me and said the hotel refused to credit. Normally hotels will credit however this hotel was really stubborn. Meh?!? It's an okay hotel. There's free parking. The staff at check-in are nice. Walking down the hall there was a smell like Fabreze, a bit like chemicals. As the evening wore on I developed hives on my arms. I was clearly allergic to something, probably the chemicals they use to clean. I had an antihistamine to take, so I was okay. I did check for bedbugs and didn't find any. All four bed pillows were over-stuffed, so they were very large and like blocks. It was difficult to get comfortable. The air conditioner was very confusing it may have been broken. I'd change the temperature, hit set and it would go back to the original temp. The breakfast was typical make your own waffles, cereal, fruit and bland eggs and sausage. If I need a place to stay in Staten Island again, I'll go some where else. read more

Rooms aren't incredibly well lit and they don't help you with transit at all, but the housekeeping is exquisite and there's complimentary breakfast in the morning--which is more than can be said for some pricier options nearby, unless you buy the right package. Without a car, the location is easily reached from Manhattan by the X10 bus, which stops right in front of it, or a number of options coming from the ferry to Neptune all/Victory Blvd. But there's no shuttle nor taxi service facilitated by the hotel to help you out, so keep that in mind when booking a simple bed and breakfast like this. Nonetheless, I appreciate the well-kept room and amenities: mini fridge, large flatscreen, ample dining area by the lobby. Certainly not in the class of a five-star experience but don't let that hold you back from stopping here to get your things done--especially if you have a car or ride share app. read more

Really unpleasant experience staying here. Very noisy room. My bed had no comforter on it. Barely slept. I asked to speak to a manager to complain about my terrible night, but of course the manager was nowhere to be found. The person at the front desk said that the manager would call me back. Of course they never did. I called back and asked for the manager, of course, he wasn't there yet again. They again said he would call me back. What do you think was the result of that? The only reason I am here is because I'm a healthcare worker and these rooms were donated to first responders. However, because of my experience here, I'm not sure I would book at a Ramada, ever, anywhere. Besides the wear and tear on this hotel and the smell of mold, the guy at the front desk is extremely rude. I am well aware that no visitors are allowed due to the circumstances and I have no problem following those rules. However, a gentleman I work with and car pool with (who has his own room on the other side of the hotel) (there are about a dozen of us here who work together) has food he purchased for me earlier inside of his room because I worked extremely late. He helped me with my luggage and grabbed the food from his room and brought it to my room for me. My coworker had already explained he had his own room because the man at the desk asked what room he was in. (Mind u he asked no one else and I can take a wild guess why he asked my coworker and not myself). He watched my coworker go to his room and I'm pretty sure he looked up his ID and it matched his room and then watched him walk my things to my room. Before the door could open all the way the man at the front desk was calling and telling me I have a guy in my room and he can't be there. I explained he was dropping stuff off (shopping bags in hands and all) and going right back to his room. He felt I deserved a lecture at that point of me being a healthcare worker and I didn't pay for the room, anyway. Now there is a party across the hall. Their voices are loud as well as their marijuana. Guess some of us are allowed to party and some can't have help or food delivered. Way to treat your essential workers. read more

But a $50 charge to my credit card (prepaid room via Expedia) was required for "incidentals." OK, no big deal. I went to buy "incidentals" at the little shop and was told I had to pay cash. But what about my card on file for "incidentals?" "That's for things like smoking in a non-smoking room. You have to pay cash for water." Lame. Check out time inside the door says 12:00. We were traveling to New York and wanted to enjoy the city from a new angle so we stayed here with the intention of taking the Staten Island Ferry over to enjoy the city by day. It worked great for us! Parking was ample and the hotel was clean but the rooms were on the small size for our liking. Breakfast the first day was a bit scary as the sausage didn't look right and the second day there was no meat offered. The hotel is located on a one-way street that does make it a bit difficult to find your way in, but once you figure that out, it is pretty easy to find. We have stayed in better places but all-in-all, we were ok with the stay here. Nothing great to write home about but we wanted a place close to the ferry and this served it's purpose for us. read more

The rooms were not bad but when we were there last week they had some kind of celebration going on. They were playing very loud India music, very loud with their voices and at one point sounded like someone was banging into the walls. We got there around 7:30 p.m and the party didn't end until about midnight. At that time I was very upset and I told him we wanna check out right now and I need my money back .he said exactly using these words am not giving u any money and I will call the cups in put you on handcuffs. I called Ny police . The came and they asked me what happened I told them . Police said they r there every other night cause of this front disk guy. They told me he doesn't know how to talk with people. They told me that I should call the manager in the morning and he should be able to issue a full refund which is $317. Went to see the manager in the morning he asked what happened I told him . He started telling me really he did that every time I tell him about he bad this person treated me and disrespected me . At the end manger said u will need to contact corporate cause the have cameras that records with sound too. He didn't even apologize for all the drama they caused me by the front disk person that is under his lead. Called corporate told them what happened and also told them that they can get the police report form NPD. They gave me a reference number of my complaint and said they will send me email with in a week. I got the email. This is A joke . They said they have cameras to investigate. This is not what the video camera recorded. They asked the front desk person that I called the police cause he was very rude and yelling and calling me names . Refused to refund money. Booked a room here for a last minute stay. It was Friday before a holiday weekend and the only thing place that had some rooms available. It was expensive, a little over $200 for the night after tax; but it was last minute and I had no choice. On the drive over to the hotel I was reading all of their reviews and was dreading the stay. It seemed like horror story after horror story. However, when i arrived I was pleasantly surprised. Staff at the front desk were friendly and efficient. There was a slight smell of cigarettes in the hall way but once inside the room and was spotless and odor free. The beds were freshly made along with fresh towels soap and shampoo in the bathroom. When we walked into the entrance, there was a woman yelling very loudly and cussing. She could be heard all over the hotel. Our room smelled very strongly of mold and the carpet was wet. There was a bloodstain on the sheet. We had booked and paid for a king bed and got a queen. There was a blanket in the closet but it looked old and dirty. The room was very small. Breakfast was terrible. There were long black hairs on the floor of the bathroom. I've stayed in many hotels all over the world but this was the worst. So I stayed here over the weekend and had a few ups and downs with my stay here. Check in was a breeze no issues there. I booked one of their king bed jacuzzi tub smoking suites for two nights. Now if you booked one of those rooms be prepared to walk down a set of stairs. No elevators at this hotel. The hallway in the basement was extremely stuffy and really needs to be air'd out. So I get into my room and well it's the same as the hallway, very stuffy as you walk in. Now I know I booked a smoking room but they need to do a better job of not having the rooms smell and feel so stuffy. Now onto the facilities of the room. It was clean, the bathroom was also very clean. There were holes in the black out curtains but that didn't bother me much. Now I'm not a tall guy I'm about 5'9 on the average weight size and I had a very hard time fitting into the shower. I felt very claustrophobic in there. Oh I would of used the jacuzzi tub but Of course that wasn't working, I didn't want to just sit in an oversized tub. Jets didn't work nor did the lights on the tub, I didn't even bother to call management I just said forget it. Now that being said please ramada inn management if you are reading this.. PLEASE invest in BIGGER bath towels!! Oh my god I had such a hard time drying myself with your towels being so small. Usually bath towels you can wrap them around your body, well not these ones. They are okay if you have kids but for grown adults your going to have a hard time drying yourself off. This place gets a 2 star only because of the location as it's very close to the deli and bagel shop which have amazing sandwiches. Don't even bother with the breakfast here. Take the 3 minute walk and get a ham egg and cheese bagel and a coffee, it's much better option. read more

Its on a one way street, so be careful not to miss the parking entrance, which I personally think they should have the sign a little bigger / higher so any vehicles or trucks parked on the side won't obstruct the sign. Room is pretty standard, clean, & comfortable. However, the AC needed maintenance, only blowing at fan level; we had set temp at 60 yet the room still felt warm overnight. We had a late check-in, too tired to complain. It explains why the window was left open. We reported it when we checked out, the manager gave us credit that we didn't expect to receive! When we came back to the room at midnight after a whole day out (about 13 hours), we found our door propped open with a trash can - left that way by the cleaning staff. The tenant checked out at around 3pm on the next day and I got charged for one additional full day. That was on a weekday and not even on weekend. Worse customer experience and greedy owner. We had an emergency in the family and chose this hotel to stay in. The rooms are very nice and clean. The staff goes over and beyond to satisfy your needs. The decor is very cute, even Matrix shampoo, massage bar soap. What else could you want. They serve breakfast every morning in a dining area. There are various breads for toast, waffles, eggs, sausage, bacon, juices and fruit. In addition there were plenty of restaurants that delivered. I am very pleased we chose this hotel. Rooms are very modern. Hardwood floors with flat screen TV. Clean room with a small fridge. Winning combo!

We stayed two nights. Plus: Staten Island is a quiet and residential, so a perfect break after sightseeing in Manhatten. The breakfast they provide is good, but if you want eggs or sausage patties you have to get there before 8am. Otherwise all you will have is yogurt, croissants and cereal. Downside: It was pricy. Until the moment we walked through the doors we were sure we've made a mistake. This hotel is in the middle of nowhere and we had to pay $15 for a cab from the ferry for the first 2 days until we got around to using the bus. It's not close to the ferry so you'll need a bus or ferry and the place looks like its in the middle of nowhere. However, once we were in we were very happy. Hotel staff was nice, room was awesome, clean and had everything you need from a hotel room. It didn't look like a $90 a day hotel in NYC - some $200 a day hotels in NYC don't have such nice rooms. The side door was open and unlocked, the room smelled like a moldy basement and neither Hotels.com or this Ramada would help me find another hotel that I was comfortable staying at.
