This location is in a food hall. Ordered the large tonkotsu ramen and an order of the fried gyoza. The large just means more noodles. The char siu was dry. The broth was good overall but ramen didn't come out temperature hot. The fried gyoza had a weird texture, it was chewy.

First meal after checking in to the hotel. Everyone was hungry and tired. We didn't want to drive anywhere else after a day of traveling and decided to walk. Located at Asia Stix food court like basement in Waikiki. Got there at 8pm and we were seated right away. Our server was awesome and took out order right away. Food came out fairly quickly. I got tsukemen with char sui, noodles were perfect bouncy and chewey. Broth was delcious and so filling. My family ordered Barrio cilantro, barrio egg ramen spicy. Everyone loved it.

Was craving Ramen so decided to come to RAMEN BARIO WAIKIKI! got 2 different bowls but forgot their names. One is Char Sui Focused and other was Parsley and spice focused. Both was really good, hearty and filling. What really stood out is how tender and flavorful the char Sui. I would come back just for that. It's quite a tight space inside but they make do of what they can, can't blame them for that. It is a quick pace environment, so you definitely see lots of movement going around, so not ideal for dates or quality time, quick pace and flavors oriented! We didn't see it until the bill was paid and we have said "yes" to a paper printed receipt.

For water refills it will required you to br waving your hands and hopefully you server can see you. Watch out for the optional "5% kitchen tax". Ask the server to see if they can remove that "5% kitchen tax" for you. No other restaurants have this added on cost. The ramen was okay, nothing special to validate their cost for the ramen.

The tonkotsu broth and the charsiu pork were both good. The noodles, while plentiful, were very thin. I prefer a slightly thicker noodle. I also expected the egg to be cut in half rather than served whole. You can add different toppings for a fee. Service was good and the food came out very quickly. They also offer kama'aina discount.

I remember eating here a while ago. I thought it was pretty good; that was the first opening of the Yokocho basement. When I went back the other day, I was excited to find it still there. I decided to get the ramen with corn - hoping it would remind my of "Ramen Alley" in Japan. Sadly the broth was so weak. I felt like I was just eating noodles that had very little taste. Even though the noodles were thin, the broth had no flavor and I just couldn't even finish the bowl. When the worker asked me how it was, I made a gesture - "not too good" and she thought I meant I they give a lot and I was full. No. The ramen was not good that night. Very poor flavor. It made me sad.

My favorite Tsukemen on the island, I had to get it twice on my trip. I was sad to learn that the Ala Moana location stopped serving Tsukemen, so I have to get my fix at the Waikiki location. There's a good amount of seating, and the servers are friendly and quick. The inside reminds me of the ramen streets that they have in Japan. You can also have your parking validated if you park in the same building. My favorite thing to get here is the Tsukemen, the broth is rich and full of flavor.

I'm not really a ramen fan but I was sold ... it was so delicious!!! The thick noodles were firm. The warm tonkotsu broth had so much garlic and richness to it. It was a satisfying comfort meal. We were sat by the bar and got to see the kitchen staff preparing our food. The atmosphere was chill. It reminded me a bit of eating at a restaurant in Japan.

Where tired travelers go from 3% HP Full Health. After hours of ocean swimming with sea turtles, sun beating down, and muscles absolutely emptied, I walked into Stix Asia Food Hall running on fumes. Ramen BARIO became the revive station. The Bowl That Brings You Back Spicy tonkotsu served very hot - the kind of heat and salt your body demands after the ocean drains you. This isn't Tokyo's refined ramen. This is travel recovery fuel: · heat wakes you up · salt restores balance · carbs bring strength back · fresh garlic instant power surge A true HP refill. Bonus: Sapporo A cold Sapporo adds the final +20% HP. In Waikiki humidity, it just makes sense. Kai Coffee Upstairs = MP Potion After ramen brought the body back, Kai Coffee (upstairs at Stix) restored the mind. Strong, clean, aromatic. Zero bitterness. Exactly the kind of MP boost you need before walking the rest of Waikiki. Ramen restores the body. Coffee restores the rest. Practical Traveler Notes · Expect a line. · Once ordered, the food comes fast. · The AC downstairs? Powerful enough to resurrect the dead. On a hot Waikiki day, that alone is worth a star. This isn't a destination ramen shop. It's a reliable rescue point - the place where your body says: Salt, heat, carbs, cold beer, and a great coffee - NOW. For anyone exploring Waikiki, BARIO + Kai Coffee is a full-system reboot. - Dr. C Travel restores the mind. Ramen restores the body. Coffee restores the rest.

I like the semi-food court experience, but with smaller sit down areas in each of the restaurants within the "Stix" food court. This place is quite good - legit Japanese workers and a good variety of options. We don't get Tsukemen often, so we thought that 4 of 5 of us would get one, of varying levels of spiciness. The service was good and it did have a Japan vibe with smaller sit down areas. We all enjoyed our meals, and next time in Waikiki, we would not hesitate coming again if this is what our palettes desired!

The noodles are chewy and the pork is tender. The broth is savory and milk, but still average in my opinion. While they give a lot of noodles and meat, the ramen is very expensive. It can be $25 for a bowl before tax and tip. The chicken karaage is crispy and juicy, and I'd be happy ordering that again.

We all ordered the bario ramen. They really fill the bowl to the brim. So much that it was hard to eat without spilling over. I swear they put a pound of ramen in each bowl. The more I ate the less of a dent I made. It was an everlasting ramen bowl. 1 is good for 2-3 people. Broth was good but wayyy too much noodles. Fast service.

Pretty good, authentic ramen. Soon as I saw they had other locations in Japan I knew I had to check it out. I wish that you didn't have to pay for each topping though, it could be cheaper without doing that

Do not get put off by having to climb the "never-ending" flight of stairs to access the brew pub; there is an elevator. There is a large bar area, an outside patio, and an adjacent dining/drinking area next to the Outrigger Hotel. Side bar: There seems to be a gazillion Outrigger Hotels on or near the strip. They do have an impressive craft beer menu, some guest taps, and a full complement of high-octane spirits. I was initially disappointed that their Big Swell IPA was tapped out. My second choice, the Overboard IPA, was a great 2nd choice. This is a typical IPA with a dry finish. During lunch, I ordered the Bikini Blonde. This is an all-day lite but refreshing beer with a crisp finish. I ordered the seared ahi salad for lunch. This exceeded my expectations. The generous portion of ahi was seared perfectly. The ahi was accompanied by an egg, avocado, radish, Okinawan sweet potato, furikake goat cheese, and drizzled with Bikini Blonde-cilantro vinaigrette. Deliciouso! There are big screen TVs available if you wish to catch a game. Service was excellent at the bar, and the bartenders knew their beer and provided great guidance. Check out their website as they have a great HH and specials.

I actually had to flag down another service so we could cash out. I have so much respect for people working in the service industry. It's a hard job. You deal with people all the time and some of them are downright jerks. We weren't jerks. We were regular, nice customers. It takes a lot for me to not tip anywhere between 20-25%. The only difference to this establishment was instead of a server taking our order, we were instructed to go to the front podium to place the order when we were ready. We opted for the Fried Calamari with Cilantro Lime Aioli to start, and ordered the Chop Salad with Tofu and the Verde Bowl. The food came out so quickly, and we were actually surprised with the portion sizes for all the dishes. We were able to share the salad and bowl and still had enough to pack a take out box.
