The ramen was okay. Nothing fancy. I had the tom yum ramen. I personally didn't find the broth to be that tasty. It felt more watery. Coming from San Francisco, I KNOW my ramen. I've had spectacular broth and my experience at Ramen Ki-mama was very lackluster. I ordered the vegetarian miso soup but it seemed like the miso was made from scooping from a pre-purchased paste and the noodles were definitely not handmade (*sigh* ... sometimes I realize how spoiled I've become to Japanese cuisine in SF). I would actually give this place 3.5-4 stars, but our last experience left us to boycott the place. I really appreciate that this place only serves Japanese ramen food, unlike most Asian restaurants that serve a combination of all types of Asian food. The miso and shoyu ramen are quite decent. Noodles have a great bite, soup comes out piping hot and reasonably flavorful. (Slow-cooked eggs are average though.) Huge servings too, at 115kr (~$18-20USD) per bowl. The gyoza isn't that great (meat tasted funny and skin wasn't crispy enough), so I would pass on that. Ambiance is ok. I would stick to the front of the restaurant if you want a nicer setting/place to sit. To explain why we've boycotted this place: On our second trip there (unfortunately after we paid), we realized we were charged 25kr for a glass of tap water. As I recall, tap water is FREE at restauarants (and we sure weren't charged for tap water on our first visit!). It was quite ridiculous and very dishonest of the waitress to do this. Thus, we will never go back. Overall, if you are craving ramen noodle soup, I'd recommend this place. Just watch what they charge you for! read more

I was really longing for Ramen and finally managed to go here after years of absence. Either my tastes has changed, or it's really gone down hill since I last visited. To note: the bathroom wasn't so hygienic and the chef was sitting around looking bored. I chose the vegetarian option and it sadly tasted like unwashed mushrooms in salty water. The broth was a total disappointment and noodles completely overlooked. The only plus, if you can call it that, is the wine and beer is pretty cheap for Stockholm prices. A real disappointment and I won't be coming back here any time soon. Sad to see such a good place take a turn for the worse. read more

Ramen Ki-mama should be a staple of your ramen ventures through Stockholm. I dined there earlier choosing the yakiniku ramen, which was an easy choice for me. It was a beef based broth with good body, nice tang and spicy finish. To go along with the well flavored beef, there was a, possibly, house made kimchi that was very tasty. This was one of those dishes and experiences that makes one experience a total umami, stretch and walk out the door satisfied. I would have given this experience 5 stars if it weren't for the smell upon initial arrival. We eat with our eyes, our ears and our nose, then our pallet. Chow down. read more

The best (and almost only) place for some decent ramen in Stockholm. Unfortunately closed at the moment (April 2012) due to some water damage but they will open again in May from what I heard. The ramen here can of course not compete with what one can find in Japan or parts of the US but I still like to head here when I miss Japan and have a craving for ramen. I believe that the owners have now changed (Chinese instead of the original Japanese) but from what I have seen it has not had any effect on the quality or the prices (just hope that what Angela H wrote is not something that will be a sign of the new ownership). Other than the ramen I would actually also recommend a few other dishes and those are the gyoza and the yakisoba. read more

So I was here on a sister night out and since I've heard good things about this place, I of course had some expectations to be fulfilled. (and I really hoped that this place met my expectations if not more, since I've been selling it to my sister) So the two of us went there, didn't book any table but we were placed rather quick despite the crowded restaurant. The waiter came quickly with the menu and came back as soon as he noticed that we put our menus down and were ready to order. We ordered ramen (duh, of course!), one portion of Gekikara ramen and one portion of wantanmen. Apart from that, we ordered a bottle of japanese beer each. When the food came, it was just...wow. We couldnät believe our eyes because the bowls were so big we could've put our whole face in them and no one would even notice. We could use those bowls for hats and it would fit perfectly. You get the picture. tThe food was really good, Gerikara ramen is marked spicy and it wasn't that spicy that you couldn't eat it. However it was spicy enough compared with the other ramen on the menu. The wonton in the wantanmen was also superb. The best thing about the whole thing though, was the broth that soaked the ramen. It was rich, but not overpowering. The service was quick and we didn't have to wait for a long time to get any waiter's attention! And imagine that it was a full house! read more

This is and has always has been a favorite of mine. The broth is excellent. My favourites are shoyu and shio.

I read a lot of comments before deciding to go (also from other ramen places). My friend from Stockholm who is a chef actually wanted to go to another one but was closed so we came here, and we thought it was nice in terms of flavor. Lower your expectations with the decoration and the service; the downside is that is pricey for the overall quality. read more

a sign outside which declared BIBIMBAP deceived me, but of course i was interested anyway. hole-in-the-wall, check. can of utensils on each table, check. i got the shoyu ramen and wish i had more stomach space to try more of the offerings... first of all, the noodles had a good bite and chewiness to them. then the generous portion of meat was tender and flavourful. the broth was not deep but still very delicious. the final thing that impressed me was real shinachiku, not just little planks of bamboo shoots out of a can. i was barely able to finish the huge bowl and sighed contently as i patted my distended tummy. this is definitely a place i look forward to revisiting when i come back to stockholm. read more

Aside from being a ramen addict, I popped in here because of the glowing reviews and even the recommendation in the 'Where Chef's Eat' book. I really cannot understand what the fuss is about. The noodles and toppings were ok, but the broth was very watery and underwhelming. Unbelievably, when I asked the staff if they had tonkatsu broth, they told me they only had pork broth! Gyoza was very mediocre as well. Overall, way overpriced and far from an authentic bowl of ramen. read more
