    Miso Ramen

I would actually give this place 3.5-4 stars, but our last experience left us to boycott the place. I really appreciate that this place only serves Japanese ramen food, unlike most Asian restaurants that serve a combination of all types of Asian food. The miso and shoyu ramen are quite decent. Noodles have a great bite, soup comes out piping hot and reasonably flavorful. (Slow-cooked eggs are average though.) Huge servings too, at 115kr (~$18-20USD) per bowl. The gyoza isn't that great (meat tasted funny and skin wasn't crispy enough), so I would pass on that. Ambiance is ok. I would stick to the front of the restaurant if you want a nicer setting/place to sit. To explain why we've boycotted this place: On our second trip there (unfortunately after we paid), we realized we were charged 25kr for a glass of tap water. As I recall, tap water is FREE at restauarants (and we sure weren't charged for tap water on our first visit!). It was quite ridiculous and very dishonest of the waitress to do this. Thus, we will never go back. Overall, if you are craving ramen noodle soup, I'd recommend this place. Just watch what they charge you for!

This is a perfect little Ramen place. Genuine broth and a real touch of class regarding taste and balance. Real value for money. I will make a point of coming back every chance i get. A chefs first choice. The kimchi is s must have by the way.

Place was smaller than expected with plain decor. However the ramen was really good and the staff were happy and attentive. The food was delivered promptly after being ordered and tasted great.

The noodles were carefully tucked and folded into a bed, then the torch-seared char siu was layered on top. Then, the generous portions of onions, bamboo, and a perfectly-cooked egg. Yum. The restaurant itself is umarked on the outside. Once you find it, you will enter into a minimalistic space where the natural light bounces off the warm grey walls. The stop into the noodle shop will be quick. The rigid bar stools don't encourage you to longer long, because after every last perfectly cooked noodle has been slurped up, a new patron will enter into this oasis for a hot, satisfying bowl.

We had to wait just a couple of minutes for two tables to open up but it was well worth the wait. The menu is limited, but I appreciate that they are serving what they know they have perfected. My husband and I both ordered the shoyu ramen. The broth is so flavorful and the pork is so thinly sliced, which I appreciate. I don't do runny yoke in an egg, but my husband enjoyed that component. The woman working in the restaurant was so friendly and quick to tend to our table. This is a hidden gem that you should check out if you like ramen!

Our relatives recommended this spot during our holiday visit, and the ramen here hit the mark. I had the Red Hot ramen, which was rich and flavorful, with layers of flavor, tender and meaty pork belly, and a perfectly jammy shoyu marinated egg. Lots of flavor, and not too hot for my spice-loving palate. They use thin straight style ramen noodles here, which tasted fresh and had perfect spring. Our local relatives opted for their favorite, the Stockholm Shoyu - which also looked excellent. This spot is small and cozy, and they were able to seat us quickly even though they seemed quite popular for lunch.

I highly recommend not ordering the spicy miso because it was expensive and inedible. Instead of chashu, there was ground meat. I only ate a few bites and the reason why I took more than one bite was because I was curious and wanted to understand which part of the dish tasted bad. I figure out that the flavor was coming from the noodles. The spice came from a numbing pepper that I did not like. Spicy miso is usually my go-to when I order ramen but the flavor was not what I was expecting. When I normally order spicy miso, the broth is like tonkatsu with a spicy miso paste. At Ai Ramen, they serve hardly any broth and the broth they do serve does not taste good.
