I get it and we did provide background and history and giving up controls can be hard as a new instructor and new-to-you student. Either way we would definitely fly with Learn to FLY SD again just with a more experienced instructor who can meet my son where he is at. Priced appropriately too which is a plus!

Omar took the time to meet with me and answer all my questions and so far, I'm very impressed. I'd like to think I'm a good judge of character and I never got the feeling that Omar and the team is just there to take your money, but rather to help you start flying! I started my…read moreprivate training here (I am now a CFI) and have been to a total of 5 flight schools throughout my training, due to moving for college. OCFL was unfortunately my least favorite by far. What caused me to eventually leave and find a new school was a transponder issue on my night flight to Camarillo. A transponder is required equipment when flying through LA airspace, and ATC reminded us that we are not allowed to fly through the LA airspace with this issue. My instructor wisely chose to land at Van Nguys Airport instead of (illegally) flying back to John Wayne. Yes it's inconvenient, but certainly the safe (and legal) choice. He called Omar, the owner, to notify him of this inconvenience. Omar then proceeded to get upset with my instructor because of the time and money it would cost to pick up the airplane in Van Nguys. Omar advised that my instructor should've just flown over LAX, at night, and pretended to not notice to issue. This was years ago, but since then I have only heard of similar negative experiences from other past students of this school. Now that I am further along in my training, I see how dangerous this money-over-safety mentality truly is. I write this review only in hopes for other aviators to look for safer flight school options or for this school to hopefully institute some safer practices. Thank you!

The instructors here had only allowed him to land the airplane less than 10 times after about $7000 spent in 6 months. With Greg, I landed more than 16 times in the first 3 flights.... At Fallbrook Flight Academy, they encourage students to advance as soon as they are able. No delay. I had to pass FAA's SODA flight test. There is quite some delay from FAA. They called and email FAA to push my case. They had two planes washed and ready for me pick on the day of SODA. I am really pleased with this excellent school. Recently, they added another wonderful instructor Lily Roberts. She is great! I am now under her instruction for about 7 weeks. The guys at French Valley Flyers were extraordinarily helpful in getting him a new battery early the next morning. He went back up there to fly his plane back to SD but weather was horrendous, zero visibility. He is two weeks away from his IR check ride so he couldn't take off. Next issue was that he goes to school in AZ and had to be back at school before conditions improved. FVF found a CFI to fly the plane back to SD later in the day for him. FVF saved the day and relieved a lot of stress! Can't thank French Valley Flyers enough for all of their help and professionalism! Good guys who run a great shop with a nice fleet. Highly recommend checking them out!

After talking to Richard the owner, I decided to sign up on their intro flight lesions. The price was great, $139 for 2 flight hours in the Piper Warrior 2, 2 Ground School Lessons and an orientation. It was a great experience. I have completed my entire Ground School Requirements for the FAA exam. Jeff and Mike the 2 instructors are cool, and going to class from 7PM to 9:30 PM was great too. I met some real good people in that class. Now, I have passed the FAA exam, have taken 20 hours of flight time with my SUPER HERO also called Glenn Rauch. He has made learning flying to a new enjoyable level. Glenn is my second Certified Instructor (CFI). I am now so eager to meet up to go flying every 2nd. day. And every time I'm learning something new. The course is very well structured. Best if you take 2 to 3 flying lessons a week. Training this way is a lot better than taking only a few hours in a month. I can only speak for myself; I had to choose again, I would always go back to Golden State and ask to fly with Glenn. Thanks for a great learning experience; I couldn't have ask for a better school.

What we heard, spoiled rich kid example name Gavin (wow, clever). Planes are like women, if you beat them up a little just stroke them and sprinkle perfume on them and they'll be fine. The less fuel the lighter the plane, I try to get my girlfriend to understand this. Keep it neutral like trump did with North Korea, when he stopped the fighting (ummmm, what fighting?) You need a background check for your pilots license, so no antifa records. They stopped naming the planes after indians, I don't know some silly reason. We get it, you love trump (the ultimate spoiled child). We aren't here for juvenile references or political innuendos. We don't need to listen to this or pay for it. Keep it to yourself.

You can find Fly San Diego at the Montgomery Gibbs Executive Airport under the Casa Machado Restaurant in the terminal building. Hudson was the flight instructor and he explained everything in great detail. Hubs was able to pick between a tour or more hands on time. In the end, we did a bit of both. I would highly recommend them.
