I am still fairly new here but so far enjoy how easy it's been getting around on base! The BX is huge with a lot of cool vendors and food options. I love the library and the two gyms are also great. They provide wonderful excercise classes Monday -Saturday that are mostly all free except a few. Everyone has been so friendly and helpful. Great base! read more

This base is pretty amazing! Not only does it have a large food court with Baskin Robins, Popeyes, Anthony's , subway and a Wok place plus many more selections. If you are lodging at the hotel and want delivery just go on aafes.imenu360.mobi and they will deliver your food sometimes they do it off base also. Moving on to the PX OMG it's huge. They have everything it's like a Macy's but way better because they have alcohol and a huge selection of shoes casual and athletic. It's a mini foot locker inside of the PX. They literally have everything I'm going to school shop there from now on. Plus they have other stores and kiosk as you walk through. This base has lodging , gas station and an airport its big. And just like we always say in America big is better lol. No it's a cool, clean well kept base though. read more

As mil airports go, this one is par for the course. It's efficient, effective, with zero frills. I was able to brush my teeth and get a soda. Nothing particularly memorable. But again, that's the point...get in, get out, get on with it. Go Air Force! read more

Aim High! Why have I not been stationed out here. This Air Force Base is pretty snazzy with the Big BX and tons of eateries. Thank goodness for the base shuttle as this base is pretty big with multiple bases around the area. read more

I was was very lucky to grow up near here when I was 6-9 years old back in the 80's. This park was…read morealways the place to be with the family and have fun. I was just there last year and the park has been updated. I must say I'm very happy that the very long slide is till there along with the small zip line. There is a great restaurant nearby and restrooms are very clean. Lots of tourist pamphlets to pick up here including the bus schedule and various bike routes. If you have a question on how to get somewhere on the bike trails the locals are very happy to help. There are various trails to take in the woods. The actual Devils Table is an amazing sight to see. It hasn't changed much and that is good. Take your climbing boots and be ready to use those legs to get you up to ride the "slide of life". That's what my family calls it.

During World War II the townsfolk used the caves for protection against air raids. In more modern times, the caves were used as banquet halls and for raves.......recognizing the potential hazard to the structural walls ( as they are only sandstone & one can scrape sediment away w/ one's fingers ) the site was closed off and is currently being turned into an educational / tourist destination Layers of mineral deposits show where this was once all underwater from the swirls in the pattern of red & tan layers They prefer guided tours - hardhats are issued at check in & you can reserve tour guides who speak a variety of languages We walked around the 1 level they currently have open - there are large buttons along the way which will light up parts of the cave & showcase various points of interest. We saw roots from trees on top of the mountain we were currently under; the "Throne Room" with its huge, cavernous rotunda; and a banquet hall that still had a large wooden table in it - must have been where they held their events. Overall, a nice excursion & if you're in the area, worth a visit

The Furnishing Management Office here in K-Town is amazing!!! The customer service is unbelievably…read moreincredible and accommodating. The process is very organized and quick. You come in, explain what you need and within a few weeks you receive your stuff. Coming here was painless and they really took care of us. Almost every person here is has incredible customer service skills, they make you feel at ease and get you everything you could possibly need to live here in this 220 voltage country. When they came and delivered our goods they were very professional and were in and out in less than 45 minutes. At the time, we didn't realize we requested a microwave so they took it back. A couple weeks later, the microwave we had ended up breaking. I called FMO to request the one they had initially tried to give us and that process was incredibly painless as well! I gave Jessica our information, she plugged into the system the microwave, and after 5 minutes she told me I could pick it up! When I went over, they gave me the microwave and bam, after 5 minutes of being there, got it and left. If there's any part of our in-processing that was great, FMO had to have been the most accommodating, stressless part we've dealt with throughout this entire move. Thank you, FMO! You guys are AWESOME!

Fantastic true Frankenstein Castle with the graveyard located at the base of the mountain on top of…read morewhich the castle arises from a natural rocky outcropping. You can see the black scorch marks where the castle burned and Frankenstein fell five stories when the floors collapsed inside the main castle structure. Wild approach through a tiny tunnel. Easy to miss the access point. Looks like you can't get up there but you can! Long healthy hike up hill that will make you feel great when you reach the castle on top. Goats run out to greet you as you walk up the hill. Park at the front of the church. Then start walking. One of the most exciting experiences you will ever have!
