We went out of our way to stop at Ramunto's while traveling from NH to OH. This was based on our previous amazing experience a few years earlier. This visit lived up to our memories and expectations. The maple wings were better than we remembered. One change, we were inspired to try the skillets instead and they were so good, we immediately went online to order a set of skillets for home. The place was pretty busy for the Michigan-Ohio State game but cleared out quick at the end of the game. Always love the warm cozy old mill vibe. read more

The prices of this place just didnt match the experience. I understand its a ski town so its gonna be more expensive but the fact that I spent $100 and left hungry is insane. The pizza was delicious so ill give them that. So just order that if you go. The skillet meal was insanely small for $17. We actually stopped at a nearby distillery first for dinner, but they were in the process of closing up. However, one of the workers there recommended going down the road to Ramunto's, and we were glad we did! The atmosphere was quaint, and the Famous Garlic Knot Pie (pizza) was outstanding. We came here with our friends this past weekend and had a great time, but there were some things that could have been better. Since it was early, we got a large table by the host stand (she was very accommodating), and the real gift of Raymundo's is the fact that there's an attached arcade, so the kids could go run off and entertain themselves while the adults sat and talked. There are a bunch of local beers on tap, and as out-of-towners, we especially enjoyed the maple stout. The food is better than we expected. Our friends were lauding the virtues of the garlic knots, and they are indeed good, but we can't say that our Vermont winter socks were blown off. But they're good! We actually really loved the eggplant part skillet because the eggplant was super crispy even with the sauce and melty cheese. Yum. The pizza is...pizza. It's NY style, but let's been honest that it's more in the spirit of the style than the execution. The dough was a bit harder than we would have preferred and the cheese was rather firm too. We had plain and "veggie lovers", and don't get us wrong, we're not complaining and happily ate plenty, but, ya know. The desserts are also pretty good. Their frozen Reeses pie was delicious (what's not to like??) but we'd bet a good amount of money that it was not homemade. The carrot cake was moist with a solid whipped frosting that made the whole thing light and tasty. The skillet brownie (which two kids devoured) tasted fine from the precious bite that one of us managed to get. Honestly, our main complaint about Ramunto's is about the service. We had a waitress who was SO nice and great with the kids, but we could never flag her down when we needed her and we had to ask for things several times, which became annoying. Yes, we know it's a different pace of life up here, but you're still a restaurant expecting to get paid and tipped, so customer service does count. 3.5 stars rounding down, but we'd be happy to come here again the next time we're in town, especially because of the awesome arcade portion. read more

Oh my lord this place is a trip and a half! The food is wonderful, hot and fresh and delicious. The setting is lovely in an old mill building with nice outdoor tables. Garlic knots are top notch. But I came here to talk about Andy behind the register in the take out area. You need to drop whatever you're doing and go order a pizza from Andy, stand there and watch him direct traffic, gently tease the customers, juggle the phones and exhort the kitchen to greater heights of culinary doings. This man is an artist at whatever art form he is practicing. I'd have happily stood by and listened to his graceful stream of consciousness ring master epic poetry for hours, so engaging was it. We read somewhere that Ramunto's had the 2nd best pizza in Vermont! We hadn't been there is several years so decided to stop on our way to Killington. They serve one size pizza. We ordered half meat lovers for my partner and half veggie lovers for me. It looked good when served. We both found the pizza to be tasteless. We couldn't taste the red sauce. The veggies and meat both had no taste. I added red pepper flakes (because I like a little kick) and grated parmesan cheese. Still no help. My partner asked for butter because he likes to butter the outside crust. They do not have butter, only olive oil. Makes sense. Most of their wines are Woodbridge. I ordered a glass of pinot noir because I like a hearty red, but it tasted like a very young, rather sweet wine. Needless to say, we probably won't be back. After we were faced with a 2+ hour wait at Long Trail, I did a quick Yelp search and saw that Ramunto's was less than two miles away. Within ten minutes, not only did we make it here, but we were also seated in a spacious booth that comfortably fit our entire party of 8. And to top it off, the menu had way more food and beer options then long trail did....Score. I guess at it's core, this is a pizza place, but the menu had a ton of other foodstuffs like nachos, sandwiches and wings. The maple bbq wings were hard to resist, and I ended up ordering that as my lunch. The sauce was sweet and tangy, the wings were crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The blue cheese sauce had thick chunks of blue cheese, which I love. Basically, the wings were incredible. Everyone else at the table was really pleased. Although my friend's meat lovers calzone was steeply priced at 15 dollars, it was enormous and could have easily fed a few people. The pulled pork nachos also came with a very large portion as well. All in all, it was a great experience except for one strange thing that I need to get off my chest. The Long Trail IPAs were clearly marked as 4 dollars on the menu, but when our bill came we were charged 6 bucks for each. Because we ordered a few, we asked the waitress about the error. Instead of apologizing for the misprint and then honoring the original marked price (which any restaurant I've ever been to would do) she angrily told us that we read it wrong (even though it was their typo...) and that they wouldn't honor the lower price... At the end of the day two dollars is no big deal, but that is definitely poor customer service and is something that I've never encountered at a restaurant before! Price confusion aside, this is definitely a very solid lunch or dinner option. Especially when a two hour wait at long trail is just far too long! read more

A great spot to grab pizza with a crowd, or just a couple seats at the bar. The pizza is hot, fresh, delicious. It's not the new, tiny artisinal variety (which can be great). But it's an ideal pizza after a day of outdoor activities in VT. The proprietor, Andy, is a very nice guy. The bar is an entertaining scene. Reasonably priced. Went to Ramunto's on Sunday with family from out of town for pizza and beer. been going there for many years and Andy the owner was there. He is like the weather sometimes good and sometimes bad. It was very crowded and told there was a one hour wait. We said fine and decided to get drinks at bar. On our way to the bar he asked where do you think you are going and my son said to the bar to get drinks. He said not tonight as is was busy and then started to yell at the young boy who was showing us the way. You do not yell at your help in front of everyone. Now I know why he can not keep his help. We then left the restaurant. if Andy can not handle a busy weekend he should give up the business. We will not be going back there anytime soon. Went to Pizza Chef not as good but much nicer. Love the idea of repurposing an old mill. HOWEVER, the service provided by Matt was offensive at best. We arrived at 4:45 PM with very few people in the restaurant. They immediately informed us that they needed the table by 7 PM, we didn't think that would be a problem since we're just ordering pizza, salads, and pre made sangria. Well, one of the 3 pizzas we ordered was burnt. We brought this to Matt's attention. He clearly was not going to do anything about it. After a minute of conversation, he offered "throw in a couple slices of cheese pizza" to replace it. Our group was insulted, but I agreed because he clearly had no customer service skills. By this time we were at the restaurant for 1.5 hrs with just salad and Luke warm pizza delivered. They let our pizza sit at a side stand for some time before he delivered to the table and remember they needed the table by 7p. Matt took the burnt pizza back but left part of the pizza. Since Matt did not have any customer service skills, I thought the kitchen might like to see the final product. As I was bringing the last of the pizza to the walk up counter, Matt charged across the room at me, and ordered me to Go Sit Down, he had already addressed the issue. I was surprised that this man was charging toward me. I informed him that he should not talk to me in that way, but he repeatedly... go sit down! His actions lead me to believe that he had authority in this establishment, and his aggressive/scary lack of control would not lead to anything positive during our lovely visit to Vermont. As an African American female I was treated so nicely across all of Vermont as we traveled about. But Matt is something else! Any establishment that supports his behavior does not get my vote not only did he have bad customer, service skills, but overcharged us for 2 drinks. I dear not confront him on this issue or anything else. Thought he just needed someone to pray for him and his spirit. The only reason why I left a portion of a service charge was because there was a nice young lady that was helping him out on the side. read more
