Grabbed a coffee while dealing with Virginia DMV, plenty of parking as it is located inside the shopping plaza. Friendly Staff with a simple look, clean and places to sit if needed. Reasonable prices and a selection of pastries. We went with a simple iced-coffee, nothing amazing, but okay. Cup was thin plastic so kind of flimsy. I made visit after eating at Pho Chateau, it's a small cafe that offer pastries, slice cakes, baklava, cake pops, tarts and beverages. Some of the items order were a hit and miss for me. Some didn't taste as fresh as mentioned. 2 out of 5 items were delicious with the right consistency and they were almond pastry (like bear claw) and the tres leches. I love that is small business and the place just give me basic outdated coffee shop vibe, but it was clean. No wow factor and nothing negative just simple. Service was extremely friendly The latte beverage was great but nothing signature that stand out. I got a flan cream caramel was not that great but not bad just not the texture i am use too in a flan. It's a small coffee shop located near Fort Belvoir. The coffee was delicious and sweet. The interior is a little outdated and the couch needs to be repaired. It's ripped and sticky on the surface. What I remember most was the lady at the counter. She was kind and had a beautiful smile. We talked a little about the weather and what a cortado was. This place is a new favorite, the desserts are amazing, especially if you like Egyptian/Arabic desserts. Mango mouse cake was some of the best I've ever had. Rice pudding and Om Ali (Arabic bread pudding) were also incredible. Heard the "sawabeh zenab" (sort of like Egyptian donuts) were top notch so looking forward to going back and trying those out. Their espresso setup looked pretty sophisticated so I can't wait to get back there and try espresso based drinks (it was night time when I visited and I wanted to get some sleep). A friendly and welcoming coffee spot with delicious sweets in the local neighborhood. I stopped in recently for sweets and was greeted by the friendly staff. I didn't try the coffee, but I did have a fresh mango and strawberry "cocktail," baklava, fruit tart, and pecan tart. I selected the available vegan options and they did not disappoint. The person working even called the owner to verify that everything I selected was vegan. The store hours are convenient and I look forward to a return visit. I'm glad Rena's is in the community and encourage others to support this small business. read more

Went in tonight to see what the bakery items were. I got 6 different things to take home and try (with the family, we split them all up.) The consensus was that the tres leches and cheesecake were amazing. There was also something called basbousa which was absolutely new to us but was delicious. The opera cake was good too! I wasn't a fan of the chocolate chip muffin. It wasn't bad, but compared to everything else, well it just didn't compare! Lol Basically it's definitely worth going inside and giving it a try. Finally, a quality local family-owned and operated cafe ! Jerome was so kind and really knew his way around the espresso machine. I had an oat cappuccino with an Egyptian dessert called "basboosa." My friend had the ham and cheese croissant sandwich and a tea. All the food and coffee was great. To go, I brought home some mango mousse cake and "roz bil laban," the Egyptian version of arroz con leche . They have so many dessert and drink options like tiramisu and Neapolitan . The vibe is peaceful and friendly. A great place to bring a friend, grab breakfast or have a meeting. They open early too! Great for stopping by after a workout at Golds Gym next door. Pleasant experience! A little cafe tucked in a corner of a shopping plaza. The employee greeted us with a smile as soon as we entered the cafe and answered questions we had about their special desserts...one of them was a delicious and crispy baklava. I was excited to visit the new coffee joint in the neighborhood but I returned home disappointed. Coffee was average - you get better coffee at other coffee shops in the neighborhood. The mango mousse cake was amazing, which is probably the only reason I'm giving them a two star rating. Chocolate croissant and almond croissants were the worst croissants I ever had in my life. They were dry, stale and hard. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt that they just opened and probably don't have enough foot traffic to finish the current stock of baked goods but please please taste your baked goods and use your judgement before serving it to customers. I really want to support small local businesses but it doesn't bode well for them if they continue to serve stale croissants during opening week. read more
