Osso is a restaurant in the Lourdes neighborhood that serves lunch and dinner…read more It has a casual vibe with some outdoor seating. The menu has a nice selection. We were the for lunch and had some of specials of the day (executive plates) both came with a green salad and were very nice. I hear they have a great burger so we'll have to go back for that.
I'm extremely disappointed with the experience my mother-in-law and her boyfriend had at Porcão BH…read more We gave them a voucher as a birthday gift because we wanted him, on his first trip to Brazil, to have a great churrasco experience. Unfortunately, it turned into the worst restaurant experience they've had in Brazil. When they arrived, they informed the staff about the voucher and were seated normally. However, after waiting for 45 minutes, the waiters were completely ignoring their table. Meat was being served everywhere except to them, and when my mother-in-law asked a waiter about it, he simply laughed and walked away. That level of disrespect is unacceptable. Only after she asked to speak with the manager did the staff suddenly decide to start serving them. By then, the experience was already ruined. They felt humiliated and unwelcome, especially considering this was supposed to be a special birthday dinner and a positive first impression of Brazilian churrasco culture. In the end, they chose to pay only for the drinks and leave without even using the voucher because they no longer felt comfortable staying there. Based on what they experienced, it was their first and definitely their last time at Porcão BH. We are now in contact with the credit card company to dispute the purchase and request a refund for the voucher, since the service that was promised was never properly provided. A restaurant can make mistakes, but disrespect, neglect, and mocking customers should never happen.
My first experience in a truly Brazilian steakhouse and it was amazing! We sat in the porch and…read morewere treated to great views of BH at night. A lot of locals seemed to come here for celebrations in big groups with friends. With covid, the buffet was closed but you could still order the appetizers and sides and they would be brought to the table. The main attraction--the meat--was to die for. Perfectly cooked and seasoned! We even got to try the beef rib, which was a treat. To make the meal even better, we had great caipirinhas which complimented everything nicely. Despite being stuffed we still managed to have dessert: a passion fruit ice cream with black currant spirit on top. All in all a great experience and a great meal!

If you like barbeque you're in the right place. This is a "Rodizio", or all-you-can-eat restaurant…read morewith a Brazilian twist. Steaks, chicken and pork cuts are served fresh from the barbeque to your table. The server will cut right from the spit onto your plate. They have all different types of cuts of meat, and if you're brave enough you can try the delicious chicken's hearts. Adega do Sul also has a salad and sushi bar, and features a lot of food and drink local to Minas Gerais - Tropeiro, Feijoada and cheeses made in the region, and the infamous "Cachaca", the alcohol used to make Caipirinhas. For an all-round experience of regional cuisine and Brazil's famous "Churrasco", Adega do Sul is a great place to visit. And it's fairly cheap, too.
