This was a great dining experience. I was with a group of 7 and our waitress did an excellent job taking care of our table. We started off with so many appetizers, I missed getting photos of them all. Oysters on the half shell, fresh and delicious! Jumbo lump crab cocktail, chilled with a brown butter. Good sized chunks, and the cool crab went well with the warm butter. Jumbo shrimp cocktail served with a fresh cocktail sauce. It was ok, the shrimp were a little overdone in my opinion but not terrible. Ahi tuna tips. Sesame seed crusted and served with a creamy wasabi cucumber dip. Incredible. Then finally the seasonal roasted strawberry bruschetta. Served on a crispy piece of bread with a ricotta spread. Sweet and savory all at once. Another delicious app that I would recommend you try. The waitress brought us a big basket of complimentary rolls that were warm and tasted like they just came out of the oven. For my main I got the seasonal pecan crusted mahi mahi and topped with a dill and lemon butter. The fish was perfectly cooked, moist and flaky. The pecans were fresh and had a great crunch and the lemon dill sauce paired so well, I soaked up every drop with my fish. The meal came with mashed potatoes and green beans. They were good. Nothing fancy, they let the fish be the star of the show. This was such a good experience and I can't recommend Randall's enough! read more

Food was mediocre. I ordered Balsamic Roasted Beet from the soup and salad, it was mainly wilted romaine hearts some beets and extra protein called BUGS. Then my meal was Eggplant Milanese. We came here for my sisters rehearsal dinner. We had a very nice secluded room space for our group. Staff was really tentative and they have a great drink menu. Lots Of cool seasonal stuff. We tried Randall's for the 1st time to celebrate my birthday dinner. Turned out to not be a good idea. The Calamari Fritti appetizer was good. My wife ordered their Eggplant Milanese - hard to find any eggplant in her dish. If they changed the name to, Alien Eggplant Milanese; it would be apropos. I ordered the Veal Marsala. It's not on the menu but when I called to make the reservation I asked if they could make it. They said yes. It became painfully obvious they didn't know how to make it. Kudos for trying. I've had this dish many times and their version doesn't come close to what it is supposed to taste like. But the veal was tender and I ate all of it. The side of mashed potatoes was very small and in general they serve small portions. If the price was commensurate with the portions I wouldn't mind. It is pricey and you won't leave full! We won't be going back! The service was just okay. The old women serving us had a lot of tables, it was a busy night. SHe had trouble keeping up and I felt bad for her. She was very nice. read more

My family loves Randalls. The service is great and the food equally. I recently got the strawberry pomegranate mocktail, lobster mac and cheese as well as the flourless chocolate torte. The torte is my favorite. We also got the beef bleu tips which are amazing!!! They melt in your mouth. Highly Recommend here for a nice meal. Went here for my birthday dinner this year looking for a lovely date night. The restaurant is cute, servers are lovely, but you go to a restaurant for food. Ours was somewhere on the spectrum from bad to just unimpressive. I ordered the scampi, which one would expect to be butter-wine-garlic-y and delish. But it seemed like the kitchen ran out of garlic and substituted an excessive amount of shallots and red onion instead. I'm not even exaggerating when I say the whole dish had a purple-ish tone as a result. The seafood in the dish was plentiful-but not really edible. My partner got the salmon, it was cooked beautifully, but coated in a sticky sweet glaze that overwhelmed everything. Drinks were solid, but they were out of several of the desserts we considered. Which seemed odd for a Thursday. All things considered, it was a sadly disappointing dinner at a place I'd had high hopes for read more

Second time visiting here. First time with our friends for a double date, and tonight with two of our kids as our daughter wanted to try. We definitely enjoyed both times. I enjoyed a well made martini and a glass of wine. The tenderloin tips and lobster mac are my personal favorites. I had the mushroom ravioli last time and that was excellent as well. My daughter loved her Caesar and my son loved his tenders and the mozzarella. It is a great place to go if you are looking for something a little more fancy out. Service was excellent as well. Great place to relax and enjoy a few drinks. Had a few apps, black&blue, calamari, oysters, all very good. Some of the best calamari I have ever had! Dinner was veal with prosciutto and melted mozzarella. Very nicely done. The waitress Lynn was very attentive and always made sure drinks where filled. Before last week I would have said Randall's was my favorite restaurant. I had dinner there last Thursday and it was disappointing. I'm hoping it was only a fluke but after looking at some recent reviews I'm not sure that's the case. The food from their holiday menu was just ok. The service was also just ok. The prices have never been cheap but this is the first time I've eaten there that I actually felt a little ripped off. Drinks from the bar were very good. Perhaps things were off because of the time of year. I'll be back but if my next dining experience there is like the last one I probably won't be back after that. read more

We go to Randalls frequently and in the past we thought it was a great restaurant. We dined there on Thursday Nov 10 and were very disappointed. Prices go higher and quality of food is declining. My wife ordered Scallops and I ordered Chicken Parm. We also asked for a Caesar salad instead of the vegetable which they allowed in the past. The server explained that they no longer allow diners to substitute a Caesar salad for the vegetable since the price of Romaine lettuce is sky high. The server told us they now charge $8 for a Caesar salad. The salad was ok at best and lacked sufficient dressing. I went to Costco this morning and noticed they sell a package of 6 Romaine stalks for $4.99. The package of Romaine is large enough to make at least 10-15 salads. The $16 we paid for two small salads is outrageous. Talk about a ripoff. And $39 for six scallops is crazy especially since they were overcooked. The sauce on the chicken Parm was not very good and and insufficient.Total bill with tip was $150.00. This included two glasses of house wine for each of us. Long and short of it all is Randalls will not be our restaurant of choice. We will dine there less frequently and we will no longer recommend the place. read more

What an amazing gem in this area! Staying at the KOA 15 minutes away, needed a great dinner choice for our companions. Chose to drive 20 minutes away because of past reviews. Impressive x 1,000!!! Jane was professional, charming, and welcoming. We had reservations in the Victorian room; the orchard room and next door bar area were beautiful options as well. Chilean sea bass was very fresh and meaty. Duck was one of the best our 70+ year old friend has EVER eaten. Butternut squash was excellent! So pleased and satisfied! read more

this restaurant is absolutely fantastic. We returned yesterday after a few years and everything was perfect. We had a veal princess and the seafood platter. both were amazing. The baked onion soup was also great. it was impressive that they took my plate and wrapped my leftovers for me. That should be a standard in Restaurants instead of handing a customer for takeout container, and then having to fumble with your food. 6/11/22- Randall's has always been a staple for our family! We've been there countless times but the last 3 times something has been off.. Since I am back home in the area, I really wanted their filet mignon.. So I kept an open mind; In the beginning of our visit, the service was great! We got our appetizers and everything seemed promising.. Though, when I got my filet (mind you, another person at our table got the same thing) mine came out really rare... When the other persons came out medium, how I had asked for mine to be cooked. I understand sometimes that happens so I asked another server to get our server to see if she could have the kitchen cook it just a little more... 5 minutes passed by, then closer to 10 minutes passed until the server who wasn't ours came over and asked if our server came to the table. I told her she did not but I would really like if I could have the filet cooked just a tad more... She took the steak back and a couple more minutes go by until our server brings out the "remade" steak. But it came back the same!!! The steak wasn't even hot like it came off the grill.... It felt like it did when I had it sent back. She offered to get me something else but by that time the rest of my table had already eaten their food.... I opted out because I did not want to wait any longer. She took it off the bill but I'm still very disappointed. I think this will be my last visit. read more

After an impromptu decision to go out to dinner last night, my boyfriend and I started to brainstorm of where we should go. I googled restaurants near me, and recognized Randall's right away. I hadn't been here in well over two years, and all my prior dining experiences were wonderful. I was so excited to share this restaurant with my boyfriend for his first time. While we tend to prefer sitting at the bar for a meal, upon walking in we saw that it was completely packed (not unusual for a Saturday night). The hostess was great (probably the best part of our evening), and she asked if we had reservations. I told her no, and she said that she thinks she can seat us for two. In less than 5 minutes she came back with a smile and led us to our table. Upon seating, our waitress greeted us and asked us for our drink orders. She came back with our drinks and even kindly poured my martini in front of me, specifically stating she prefers to do it this way, so that half the drink does not spill out on her walk over here (which I found thoughtful). We saw her take the drink orders of the table next to us, and when she walked near us and made eye contact, we told her we were ready to order some appetizers. She stated that she needed to take one more drink order and she would be right with us. After taking that order, she did not make her way back to our table. The next time we saw her we asked if we could put in our appetizers, where she again, stated that she needed to take a drink order first. At this point in time, I am not bothered one bit by this, and I show complete patience and gratitude when she comes to finally take our order. We put in our appetizers, expecting that we would receive them, take our time to eat them, and then put in our entree order. Instead, after we give her our appetizer order, she asks us what we want for our entree. On a side note, I have worked in restaurants before, and I can appreciate that at this point, she may have been overloaded with tables and wanted to get our order in to manage her time, so I gave her our entree order. We decided to split an entree, which seemed to bother her for some reason. Having worked in the restaurant industry myself, I know that when i would put in full course orders all at once, I could set a pause or timer on when it would get sent to the kitchen for cooking. The restaurant i worked at was no where near this level, in fact it was a chain, and so I assumed that a high end place like this would have at minimum, a similar style POS system. We ordered two lump crab with brown butter for our appetizers, along with a salad to split, and then the seafood combo to split. She never even asked us if we wanted them separately, at which intervals, etc. I assumed again, that at a restaurant of this level, everything would come out separately. My boyfriend is a faster eater than myself, but by the time he finishes, and I am only 1/4 of the way through my appetizer, our salads come out. I am a little surprised at this point, but still not completely turned off as a salad could also technically be viewed as an appetizer, and it doesn't get cold just sitting there. I specifically put the salad far and away from my crab appetizer while I finish my first plate. During this time, we order two more drinks. At the moment I am finishing my last few bites of crab, the entree comes out. Again, i push now the third plate of food, off to the side so that I can actually take time to enjoy my salad. By the time we finish our salads, I can see and feel that the entree has gone cold. It takes a lot for me to complain and ask for something to go back to the kitchen, but I just found the manner in which all the food practically came out all at once, completely shocking for a restaurant of this magnitude. When she brought our second drinks, which included a martini pre-poured, which overflowed onto our table, I began to ask her if she could possibly put our entrees under some kind of broiler to reheat it because it came out before I had even started my salad. The waitress didn't even let me finish my complete sentence and she turned around to help the table of 5 next to us. My boyfriend even asked me if she heard what I said, but apparently she did because once she finished the table next to us, she took our plates. Once we got our re-heated food, it was a good meal. I am the type of person who, having worked in the industry, will leave a 20% tip if I had an awful experience. My average tip is closer to 30-35%. That night I left her 20%. I always try to put myself in someones shoes when things go bad, but I know that as a server myself, I would certainly not let my frustration go out on my guests, especially if their issues were legitimate ones. We used to come to Randall's for every special event. I came back into the area this weekend and we wanted a nice dinner. Appetizers were delicious, but waited over an hour and a half for our dinner to come out. Staff seemed unconcerned. When we got our food, 3/4 dishes were cold, one was over cooked (asked for medium rare and got well done) and only one was steaming hot. When we brought it up to the waitress they only offered to re-cook one of the meals. We then ordered a takeout dish for my mother, and waited another hour and a half for that to come out. We had to seriously hunt her down, but finally we spoke with the manager of the front of the house and she seemed unconcerned about any of the issues we presented. We paid over $400 for cold food and subpar service. We will not be coming back. A real shame, this place used to be incredible. read more

I am knocking down my rating. We've been here many times in the past year. The food is the best around. The service is not good, time and time again. I am not blaming the wait staff. They are slow to give drinks, to get apps, to get dinner and to get dessert. It shouldn't take 2 hours to have dinner for three people. Ordered the duck, one of my favorite dishes in most restaurants, and it was salty with an unpleasant looking and tasting sauce. And it was the fattiest duck I've ever gotten. I didn't complain because my fellow diners were happy with their choices and I didn't want to upset the apple cart. I've been here a few times before and had good memories of the food and service. So when my wife and I were looking for some time place different to go for dinner last Saturday night I suggested Rendell's. Called for reservations and booked a table for 2 at 6. Arrived a few minutes early and were immediately seated in a dark backroom. We had passed by the sun lite "Orchard room" on our way in and I remember that is where I sat the previous times. We asked if we could move there for our dinner but were told that the tables were all reserved. I did notice that there were about 5 tables open (perhaps everyone is coming in right behind us). So our waitress appeared and told us about the specials and took our drink order. Although my wife ordered a slightly dirty Vodka martini it came VERY dirty. She sent it back and in return received a GIN martini instead?!? Then we ordered appetizers, salads and entrees. All of which were al' a carte. I was shocked when the salads came first. That has never happened in my 50 plus years of dining out. The salads were very good but the Lobster meat app we got was terrible. The lobster was mushy and tasteless. The entrees came and they were both very good. Lastly on our way out we stopped by the "Orchard room" again and found there were still a few open tables. Entrees were excellent: chicken parm was tender, sea bass excellent, surf and turf wonderful, shrimp scampi delicious! Desserts were great too: loved the molten choc cake and NY cheesecake!
