Prices are generally fair on most items. I noticed today they were a little higher that what I'm used to on assault rifles. That could very well have to do with supply and demand. Very very friendly staff. They also offer concealed carry courses here as well. They sale and issue NC Wildlife licenses. The appearance of this business could use some sprucing up to make it more appealing. Other than that it's a nice place to visit for your firearm needs.

After spending 40 years as a teacher of both sports and academic things, I have to say that Mike is one of the best teachers and coaches I've ever had the pleasure to study and practice with. His instructions were paced with patience to how I could learn best (aka, ve-e-e-e-e-e-ry slowly, lol). I'd grown up firing long guns with great precision in different scenarios still and moving but that was decades ago. More recently, I'd had some lessons in short gun but from someone I thought was a not-so-great teacher a few years ago, so I asked Mike to start from scratch as if I'd never held a gun before. The more he taught me, minute by minute, the worse that other teacher seemed, and by the end, I knew he'd been a rotten teacher. That's despite the fact that he was a veteran of many years in the police including S.W.A.T. and special operations, but high skill levels do not always equal great teaching ability, do they? By contrast, Mike's instructions were clear, precise, patient, kind, and constantly adapting to the microns of progress I made with each round of five. By the end of our lesson, all my shots were in the center, and for someone who scored a D- in high school geometry, that was darn close to a miracle! Or great teaching. Yep, it was that one, great teaching. I'll be practicing most weeks at this range, and will study again with Mike soon.

I remembered one of my coworkers telling me about a Range in Sophia he wasn't sure the name but remembered triple, so i googled it. Headed down on a sunday , enjoying the drive through the country. Down a long gravel road was I found the check in office, I was met by two Friendly and welcoming people. They assisted me getting checked in/ paying and such and explained the range rules after asking what i would be shooting. They explained in good detail where to head. I headed to the pistol range and showed up at a great time because the range was currently cold and was able to hang my target and converse with some other patrons. Shot some decent groups at 20 yards after not shooting a pistol for 12 years. At check out i was again greeted kindly, i inquired about the ccw classes and went ahead and signed up for that. I will definitely be coming back and can't wait till then.

I have spent nearly 15k in their store over the past year (a large safe, custom hunting rifle, Sig AR-15, multiple high-end pistols, and boatloads of ammo). That said, I price shopped for every single purchase and Ed's beat out every other gun store--to include Ft Bragg's gun stores that you don't pay taxes in. Additionally, I am continually impressed by the level of professionalism their employees display. At no time have I ever felt talked-down-to or belittled--which is a rarity in gun stores now-a-days. This is so much the case that my wife even enjoys it when we go there--which is saying something as my wife is much less of a gun enthusiast than myself. In fact, my wife even ended up taking one of their concealed carry courses a few months ago and picked herself up a Ruger LCR. Interestingly, the family and I ventured up to Raleigh and Charlotte for a few weekends earlier this year. At the irritation of my wife, I stopped in a few of the supposedly better gun stores in both cities. Every time I asked one of the employees if they knew of any other really good gun stores, they gave me the info to Ed's all 4 four times! I found this crazy as we were over an hour away each time. You'd think each of these cities would have a few of their own "good" gun stores... Apparently, Ed's Gun Shop has quite the reputation even outside of the local area. I was impressed. I was going to spend almost $700 on a new pistol and ammunition, but they only had one of the particular model I wanted and it was the wrong variation. That wasn't even an issue for me, but when I asked about ordering the one I wanted, it wasn't an option. I thought that was odd, but I guess they didn't need the business and I wasn't going to argue.
