I was having a normal, room-volume conversation with an elderly veteran when the owner came out and targeted me with a completely fabricated story. She claimed I sit there for "hours," when in reality, I've only used that bench three times ever. She then attempted to gaslight me, claiming my voice was "piercing her ears" and triggering her tinnitus--completely ignoring the loud, laughing family sitting right next to me. To top it off, she told me to "leave her property," despite these being benches on a public-facing tourist street where hundreds of people sit every single day without issue. I spoke with several other shopkeepers in the immediate area afterward, and they were all shocked to hear about her behavior. The shop looks inviting, but it is run by someone who is dishonest, exclusionary, and seemingly looking for reasons to harass people. If you have a service animal or just want to sit for ten minutes without being harassed with made-up stories, go somewhere else. The workers down the road have said she's done this numerous times to families and folks like myself. Complaining that the public irritate her tinnitus. Completely rude woman.

Once their business changed from photo chemicals to digital image capture, Randy spent many years teaching Photoshop classes in his Kula Studio. Then he taught these classes all over the world. Randy has been making prints of my paintings since 1995. He and his wife Becky keep working until they get it right, i.e. the first day that I met them, Randy had just gotten his 1st Mac. Since I had been teaching on them we were still at it at 10 pm! I was Department Chair for Art & Design at a Community College in North Carolina for many years, while running my Illustrations & Design Studio simultainiously. After 20 years & a M.A. in Illistration and Design, I moved back to Hawaii. I had taken 2 years off to paint 40 watercolors for a show at the Kahala Hilton in Honolulu--my 1st, 1 person show! Six Months later, in July of 1994, I opened HeART of Lāna'i Gallery in Lāna'i City, Hawaii. By 1995, I was ready to have all of my 8"x10" and 4"x5" transparencies of my paintings scanned. I asked 2 friends who both were book publishers the same question. "What is the best professional photo lab in Hawaii?" The answer in both cases was: "Go to Maui. Have the Huffords make your prints,.
