I usually get a few stacks of firewood from here every year. They set up shop on University in the same place every year and it's very convenient. Just pull in, pay for the type of wood you want, back your truck up and they will load up the wood for you. Apparently, they have a delivery service, but I have never used it. Some places sell stacks of firewood for a few dollars less, but you get a few more pieces of wood from Randy's, so it evens out in the wash. They have always been friendly when I come by here. They have a great dog that hangs out on the lot. He will bring you a stick because he likes to play fetch. read more

The response from the owner is so full of BS that it is not worthy of a response. The one thing I will address is that the owner likes to respond to one star comments with something similar to "I have been selling firewood for 30 years etc". He need to change that to "I have been ripping people off for 30 years and gotten away with it. I stand by my original post. read more

I order from Randy every year. He and his team do a great job. I called his number and Randy picked up the phone but you can also fill out a form online and the response is quick. He even remembered my name from last years delivery. I ordered on a Friday afternoon and they delivered and stacked the wood the next morning on a Saturday. I bought wood for the first time ever at Randy's earlier this year. It seemed a little pricey bu I had nothing to compare it to. It burned really well in the fireplace and kept our living room nice and warm. Fast forward to Thanksgiving. To save a few bucks, I bought wood from a tree service in Lewisville. Huge mistake. The "seasoned" wood is crap. It will burn as long as you are ok with tending to it every 10 minutes. I also didn't realize the importance of regular cut lengths. The stuff I bought is all kind of lengths. So, having said all that, I will be heading back to Randy's soon. You definitely get what you pay for and I am willing to pay Randy a little more so I can enjoy a nice fire in the evenings. read more

Ridiculously expensive!! Most everyone is $200 for 1/2 core of seasoned oak 20-24" cut. He is $325 for 18" and $395 for 22-24" cut. Why double everyone else?? And I'm not talking your Joe Schmo. Look at Mr. Firewood, very reputable, Marine Corps Veteran, almost 20 hrs on business - 1/2 cord $200, full cord $400. And he's apologizing for having raised his prices this year. Quit ripping people off Randy - sad and shameful. read more
