They must understand you problem before they can treat you. My favorite is Alexandra Sloan, PA-C. She has seen me through breast cancer, gallbladder, and any number of minor infections and other health related issues. The office is run by a wonderfully organized group of people. I am very impressed with both the staff at the Dr's office, as well as Dr. Ruggerio himself. I didn't wait for anything more then a few minutes at any point in time, even in the actual waiting room, which is where the majority of patients are kept suffering in my experience. I was called in within ten minutes to a room, and seen almost immediately by Dr. Ruggerio. Not only did he have a very thorough understanding of my RA, he also did an in-depth analysis of my medical history to make some recommendations that would help manage RA better. Unlike some other doctors, he really spent time getting to know my medical history and helping me out. I didn't feel at any point in time like he felt rushed or bored and ready to move on to the next patient. Imagine; a doctor that actually CARES about his patients and not just his pocket. The staff follow up was excellent as well. The nurse sat with me to look up some specialists in the area (I was still travelling to NY to see my rhematologist a few times a year), and called a few days later to check in. They are extremely fast at getting back to you when you call with concerns or are in need of refills, and also fill prescriptions via Blackberry on the spot. Now that's service!

I've been to lots of docs and honestly it's hard to find a good one, This office always gets you in the same day if you're sick, on top of calling you back and filling meds and are always pleasant. I prefer the two docs I mentioned but as with any office you have ones you prefer and ones you rather not see regularly. I used that specific term because it's included in my insurance every year. I needed a yearly checkup. As always, as soon as I get there I confirm the cost of the appointment. They told me the amount and I paid it before I left. During my visit with the doctor, I specifically said that I'm there for a wellness checkup. When I checked out, I confirmed with them the total cost and confirmed that it was a wellness checkup visit. Later, I receive a bill in the mail. I called about it and they informed me that I was being charged for the follow up visit. I never had a follow up visit for any of my past visits. So why was I being charged for a follow up visit. I called the office and explained this to them. I told the person to check with the doctor and let me know. I assumed that Dr Ruggiero made an error in notation. I never got a call back, so I expected that it was resolved. Next appointment I show up, they want payment. They informed me that the doctor notated it as a follow up appointment. Due to non payment, even though they never called me back, they sent it to collections. On top of this, they are breaking the law. I changed allergy doctors, and they are withholding my records from the new doctor. I completed the records request form and the new office sent it over and they were denied. It is against the law for any reason other than that the records will cause harm to the patient. The amount they are saying I owe is only $70, but I'm a man of principal!

I have been going to Dr. Douglas for several years now. I only need to see the doctor once a year…read morefor my regular check up but every time I have gone, I have been happy with the visit and efficiency of the office. My husband also sees Dr. Douglas (we almost never go together due to work schedules) and my husband has similar experiences. The staff here is great and the office runs efficiently. Dr. Douglas runs on time. I've never had a wait. My husband is typically a difficult stick. The phlebotomist here is awesome and always gets him on the first time. Dr. Douglas is kind and takes a real interest in you, not just as a patient but as a person. Dr. Douglas is a huge dog lover and has photos of his dogs in the exam rooms. It's a nice touch so that the office feels less sterile and more welcoming. It's also nice to get a glimpse into his hobbies/ outside interests. That way you see him not just as your doctor but as a human. Overall I highly recommend Dr. Douglas. He is a wonderful PCP. You want someone who takes the time to listen and gets to know you as a person. The location is convenient for me but even if I lived a little further away, I'd drive the extra distance for a good doctor.
