For veggies they offer standard veggie dishes to some special Himalayan ones..And for meat eaters the world is your Oyster! So two poppdums and daal soup later and we were happy ;) the dips accompanying the poppdums were well made , they consisted of generic mango chutney, lime pickle , raita and a curry sauce. The soup was of perfect consistency .. Potentially a dash more of lemon was required. Starters gone I then chose the curried seabass, rice and chappati. Himself selected the chicken curry. The sea bass was one of the most expensive dishes but when it arrived sizzling on a hotplate I was pleased. On the side it came with a gorgeous veggie curry sauce. The portions were massive unlike some places you go that offer no more than a sliver of fish. Even digesting this with red wine I waved the white flag at half way point. To end we were given segments of orange and the bill. Everything was reasonably.priced, well made and the service attentive. It was really busy and people were being turned away on a Thursday evening which is always a sign of good food. As a result I'd recommend booking a table in advance. You can get the metrolink to Altrincham then a taxi down to Hale or the train goes all the way there. We had a couple of beers in two local pubs first (look for those reviews) and then to here for dinner. Its a large place by Indian standards probably about 100 covers or so. We were seated as soon as we arrived which isn't my favourite but they dont really have a bar area to have a drink and check out the menu. The service was good but too quick and that's why they lost a star. Don't take away the papads plate whilst we are still chewing the last bite, don't pounce on me the split second I finish my beer to see if I want another. I'm sure the guys meant well but somebody needs to train them a little better. However they are still 4 stars for an outstanding meal of chicken madras, Lamb masala, dhall, rice and bread. Came to the princely sum of 35 quid, I'm sure that's great value. Try it , you will be glad you did, just slow down guys!!
