When I first moved to Manchester this was the first Indian restaurant we stumbled across…read more Apart from the garish green lighting and glittery walls this a nice place. When you walk in you are asked to seat at a small coffee table bearing Bombay mix then ushered to.a table. The furniture is swish, with cream leather seats and sturdy tables. Opening a new looking menu it contained the same exciting variety as last time ;). For seafood lovers you can choose from lobster, salmon, sea bass and prawns. For veggies they offer standard veggie dishes to some special Himalayan ones..And for meat eaters the world is your Oyster! We ordered two pints of kingfisher and starters only, wanting to take our time. So two poppdums and daal soup later and we were happy ;) the dips accompanying the poppdums were well made , they consisted of generic mango chutney, lime pickle , raita and a curry sauce. The soup was of perfect consistency .. Potentially a dash more of lemon was required. Starters gone I then chose the curried seabass, rice and chappati. Himself selected the chicken curry. The sea bass was one of the most expensive dishes but when it arrived sizzling on a hotplate I was pleased. On the side it came with a gorgeous veggie curry sauce. The portions were massive unlike some places you go that offer no more than a sliver of fish. Even digesting this with red wine I waved the white flag at half way point. To end we were given segments of orange and the bill. Everything was reasonably.priced, well made and the service attentive. I had the feeling they were offended when we kept telling them we weren't ready to order the main but again we did it so we were not rushed. Honestly try this place I much prefer it to Akbar's

There are few places that I absolutely have to visit when I'm in England and this is one of them!!!…read more England isn't known for great service but this place always has the best! They take reservations and your table will be ready. The food is outstanding. I'm taking my daughter to England this weekend (we are from Florida) and this is literally on our agenda the weekend we get in. The food is so flavorful and delicious. It's best to go with a lot of people so you can try a bit of everything! We loved everything we tried but the chicken tikka masala with the sweet naan with the honey is the best! We can't wait to have dinner there!!!

I've walked past this Indian restaurant many times but had never been in until my FIL's bday a few…read moreweeks ago. From the outside it looks like any other Indian place and once you get inside it's again pretty standard. The difference is the menu and the quality of the food. I had a really excellent fish pakora to start and then one of the chef's specials as a main. The naan bread (the make or break element of a curry for me) was perfect so I was very happy. It was really busy and people were being turned away on a Thursday evening which is always a sign of good food. As a result I'd recommend booking a table in advance. You can get the metrolink to Altrincham then a taxi down to Hale or the train goes all the way there. This place really stands out from some of the samey average/poor curry houses in south Manchester.

The a la carte menu has a wide choice and there is something for the novice to seasoned Indian diner to choose from. Bangla Spice give generous portions so you'll not go hungry!! The Sunday buffet is also good with rotating weekly menu. Advanced publication of this can be found each weekend on their Facebook page. The currently have 5 different menus which always offer a mild, medium and hot main dish choice. This is in our opinion the best Indian restaurant in leyland and Chorley and one of the best in south ribble.

We had dinner here tonight and it was great!!…read more Last week we bought a house on the small development opposite this restaurant and decided tonight to go across to Clayton le Woods to check out the surrounding area. We had a couple of beers in two local pubs first (look for those reviews) and then to here for dinner. Its a large place by Indian standards probably about 100 covers or so. We were seated as soon as we arrived which isn't my favourite but they dont really have a bar area to have a drink and check out the menu. The service was good but too quick and that's why they lost a star. Don't take away the papads plate whilst we are still chewing the last bite, don't pounce on me the split second I finish my beer to see if I want another. I'm sure the guys meant well but somebody needs to train them a little better. However they are still 4 stars for an outstanding meal of chicken madras, Lamb masala, dhall, rice and bread. Came to the princely sum of 35 quid, I'm sure that's great value. Try it , you will be glad you did, just slow down guys!!
