I expected that they would only have a limited selection of each. The store is well organized and clean, though it could feel cramped in places. The service was good. There were many customers, but I avoided people in my pictures. After browsing around, I was told there is another floor! Impressive. Even more categories of clothing. There is no free WiFi. The store is not wheelchair accessible. There are no customer washrooms. There is paid and free neighbourhood street parking. Review 2023-227

Located in the famous Kensington Market neighborhood, this thrift shop is trendy without being…read moreoverwhelming, clean, orderly, with just a hint of chaos. The prices are a little higher than what I would normally pay to thrift, but they had some cool items (lots of denim) and friendly staff. I didn't get anything this time, but it's the kind of place you'll want to come back to for a more thorough lay of the land. I had fun sifting through the colorful abundant racks and sometimes, that's all you're looking for in a thrift experience.

There is a lovely, welcoming and well-acquainted vibe when you enter Mama Loves You on Queen…read moreStreet. The shop itself seems to be an anomaly on the street: threadbare antique rugs on the floor, creaky, well-worn original floorboards and a tall, tin-plated ceiling all harken back to an older time. And the soothing sounds of Ray Charles play out of the vintage stereo as you shop. The selection of clothing is unlike any other store in the city. You get the impression you're in a high-end vintage store in Brooklyn or Manhattan. But without the New York City price tags. Everything seems to be excellently curated by the owner, Mahro, who is so knowledgeable about the history of clothing, and of each piece. She'll tell you straight up if something does or does not suit you. Every item is well priced and extremely well presented. Overall, this is an excellent vintage store, with plenty of goodies for both women and men.

So yeah, we found tons of awesome things, but they weren't cheap. But I have to say, it's clean, well organized, and the staff are friendly and very helpful. And some of the pieces are so great it's fun just browsing. We didn't end up getting anything, because we are cheapskates, but I still think it's a great shop in a cool neighborhood.

Just going through the racks (which I normally hate to do) is a real pleasure! From the 40s dresses to the 80s Hawaiian shirts to the 70s jumpsuit, whatever decade you are looking for is here! I saw so many cute dresses that would just look fabulous in my closet! I will definitely return in a few weeks to see what they have. Hopefully they have some new stock that I can peruse.

(I asked an employee whether the store ever buys dresses, and he said, "Only if they're really fabulous!")

This just opened in my 'hood! YAY!…read more It took over the historical corner space formerly occupied by Noah's Ark (http://www.yelp.co.uk/biz/noahs-ark-toronto). It's one of the oldest pubs in the city! But now it's VINTAGE DEPOT. I was surprised with the great organization and selection at this store. I don't think I've been to either of the other Vintage Depot locations in the city but I hope they're as awesome as this one. Clothes are organized into categories/sections and then by SIZE and COLOUR. I've never seen a thrift store that does this. Bravo! TONS of shoes, including designer. TONS of vintage Adidas and other sportswear. TONS of purses, hats (new and used) and uniforms (military, factory, coveralls and professional onesies of all kinds). This would be a fabulous place to source costumes for Halloween, costume parties or theatre/film productions. Staff seemed to be mostly young and male, all were extremely helpful and friendly.
