In laypersons' terms, Bill's legal advice has always been how best to treat another human being with fairness, respect and dignity and how best to request to be treated with same. Proceeding from this basis, Bill has represented us to an unquestionably successful resolution of absolutely every situation. I emphasize "situation" over "case." Under Bill's advice, we've never had to undergo the pain a legal case. In my opinion, the most amazing lawyers advise us how to live irreproachably within the law while holding our would-be adversaries to the same standard. That philosophy will never waste the court's time. William Talis is the very best example of the most amazing lawyer! We first engaged Bill to do our taxes in the early 2000's, and he's done so every year since then. In that time, we've seen nice refunds - and yes, we've had to pay occasionally (we grit our teeth!). The point here is not about refunds, it's about knowing we paid our fair share when we owed, and when we were refunded, it was legitimately due back to us. Rather, the point is we are in the secure knowledge our returns will withstand official scrutiny. Don't misunderstand this to imply a challenge to the IRS/DOR, "oh yeah?! Bring it on!" That's thanks to attorney Talis. With regard to employment-related issues, Bill's word in our ear was this. Our actions post-separation should be in accordance with the spirit of the signed non-compete agreement. Conducting ourselves in a way that will put a previous employer at an unfair competitive advantage is naturally a no-no for any conscience employee, whether current employee (or in the eyes of prospective employers). Yet on occasion, attorney Talis provided us guidance safely away from overreaching and unreasonable employer demands, which are all-too commonplace in this day and age. It's a narrow path to tread indeed! In our most recent "first life experience," attorney Talis represented us in the sale of our house. We couldn't have done it without him - period!
