We have been with REC since Jan 2022 and the customer service is always on point. In this case, I had called to move our billing cycle to the beginning of the month instead of the end. In the same call. I asked if they could move June's payment to July 3rd or 4th. They completed my request and told me I was good to go. 5 days later, the autopayment for June was taken out. When I called, they spoke to supervisors and the billing team to get the money returned. After being on the phone off an on with REC and my bank, they were able to get the money returned and told me what to do for July and August. I spoke to 3 different people and EVERY person was so kind and understanding and worked hard to get the account adjusted. 10/10, highly recommend. read more

Been a REC member since we moved to VA, been making checks out to " Rappahannock Electric Cooperative" (try fitting that on a check) for yeeeears, but this was my 1st time stepping in the brick & mortar building for customer service and oh buddy how I appreciate the responsive, courteous and exceptional service I received. My visit was to drop off a form. Martin at the front desk have my form a thorough once over, found I had left my account number blank, looked it up for me since I don't have it committed to memory, and made a copy of the completed form for my personal records. But wait, there's more. Martin also gave me the REC calendar AND let me load up on these adorable little hand sanitizer clips so I could bring one home for each of us. My children go nuts for these things. Overall a great experience; I'm so happy I stopped in. read more

I called the Co-op on Thanksgiving of all days,just my luck,explaining a power outage on my property which happens to be a campground and 5 cabins and 4 occupied R.V. sites were without power from the early am the night before.Trusting in their ability to asses and sometimes repair problems in the past I was relieved they came out.Now keep in mind the lines buried were put in by the Campground and was not the responsibility of REC to touch but one employee showing up to troubleshoot the issue led to 4 total coming to assist and leaving their family's in the prime time turkey eating hours of noon on was a remarkable showing of the dedication and genuine empathy the co-op's mission statement relates in they're outstanding employees.Lights are on and my campers and myself are indebted. Of course there are outages, because we live in a heavily wooded area. They allow us to tie in our solar panels to the grid. During power outages someone is always available to assure that the customers have not been forgotten .
