I was a raspado virgin until last night...tried the Chamango. Because I was in the state of nirvana with every sip, I could not describe in words what it tasted like. So...I went back for another round this afternoon. I owe it to the YELP community to follow through w a solid review!!! :) It's sweet, it's salty, it's tangy, it's spicy, it's my new favorite addiction, it's CHAMANGO!!! I did try the Diablito my son ordered and it was also very refreshing, but the Chamango stole my heart. Aside from the many raspado flavors they had to offer, this place also has other dessert items that look promising...smoothies, shakes, fruit cups with crema, etc. It's clean inside, however, its uncomfortably warm. They do have ample seating, but you may want to make your order to go and enjoy your delicious desserts in a cooler area somewhere else. read more

Fresas con crema is my jam, so obviously everywhere they have Biónicos Or fruit I order it most the time it's pretty good this place makes it so good I'm obsessed this is forever my cheat meal that's how much strawberries you get. My son got a rasapado Bubblegum and he loved it. On top of everything staff is usually friendly and very accommodating. This place is sooo good they have so many options to choose from and every item i've gotten from here has tasted so great. I found this place through my mom because she used to work near by and she brought home the coconut raspado and omg it was so delicious, it has so much flavor and i've never found another place that had this good of a coco raspado. I've recently gone and tried the biónico and that was so delicious as well all the fruits were so sweet and the toppings just made them so much better. I've got to say that I am very DISAPPOINTED with this Covina location's CUSTOMER SERVICE. Worker Jackie attended my mom this evening around 5pm. My mom ordered a raspado de ciruela and Jackie gave her a very salty raspado which was supposed to be sweet. My mom asked if they can remake it or give her a different kind since that one did not taste like it was supposed to. My mom didn't ask for her money back, just a simple request for it to be remade. Jackie said it couldn't be done. My mom asked for the manager whose name is Vanessa, and Jackie went to the back to ask her if she can remake it. Jackie said Vanessa the manager and owner said it could not be done. My mom told her she didn't want it, and Jackie, Sayani and a few other workers just stood there as Jackie threw my moms raspado in the trash. They did not offer anything else to her. My mom left. I called Raspado Xpress and Sayani answered. I asked for the manager/owner Vanessa. Sayani stated that the manager had not been there for days and does not know when she will be back in, and there is nobody else who could have helped me... So who exactly did Jackie go and ask if my mom can get another raspado if there hasn't been a manager? Someone there was pretending to be Vanessa, the manager. Honestly, this place is good and I have been here before. They have great snacks, but after today's customer service, there is no way I will be back. Customer service is key for me wether it's a 5 star restaurant or a business like this one. I also contacted "General Manager" Omar Limon via email and I am very appreciative of him giving me a call back and listening to me and agreeing with me that what Jackie did was not right, and that my mom should have gotten another raspado. This issue is not about anything else other than CUSTOMER SERVICE and being able to handle such a simple job. There's a reason people like Jackie have such menial jobs. Other companies wouldn't tolerate such behavior. When the General manager returned my call he stated only that he will "talk" to Vanessa the manager/owner but I can't be too sure of that. There was nothing else offered for my moms horrible experience from the GM. I would expect family owned chain businesses to treat people better specially the one's who give them the most business which are majority local Hispanic/Latino families. All this could have been avoided by having simple customer service skills/training, and by giving the customer what will make them happy and willing to return to give you business. With all that said, I will not be returning here and I will spread the word about this horrible customer service as much as I can. read more

This place is amazing!!! It reminds me of my childhood when I would visit my family in Mexicali and we would go to the paleteria or ice cream shop. At Raspado Xpress, they have so many different raspados and licuados/smoothies. They have chamango, chamarindo, chamafresa, chamapiña, etc. Aguas frescas, jugos naturales, choco milk, banana splits. Other choices: greñuda, nachos, flan, elote in a cup, natural yogurt, churros locos, pico de gallo. I love this place! I can come here everyday!!! You have to check it out. When you first step in and see all the great pictures of drinks and fruits around it makes you actually believe that it would be good. However, the reality it is not. So... my family and I have been coming here for years and have enjoyed their raspados and all their snacks but that ends today! We were craving raspados this evening so we made the drive there to get our stuff. When we walk in and try to begin our order the guy at the register asked me if I had a mask. I went to my car and I couldn't find it. So I walked back in and put my nose and mouth inside my sweater. The guy told me if I could have someone with a mask order but I could stay there. I was like "Are you serious?" I can stay inside without a mask but I can't order? They have this huge plexiglsss in front of the register mind you. If they want to enforce the mask mandate that's fine but how can I be in there without a mask but I can't order without a mask?! It was ridiculous! Okay...I'm going to give a 3 now...then go back later with the lover and see if anything changes. The reason why I say this is because of the following: I got there about 7 minutes before closing, and there were about 3 people in line. It took awhile to get things moving, but I started noticing it was probably because several people had placed large orders (4-5 drinks each), and they looked they were hustling to get everything done. I get to the front and the cashier is very helpful - in terms of the raspados, I've only had the chamango, so I wanted to see what was in their other drinks (diablito, chamafresha, chamayando, etc.), and she was more than happy to explain the ingredients for all of them. I decide on the chamango and she tells me they're OUT (sad face), so I decide on the chamafresa (chamango, but with strawberries instead). I also get a bionicos for the lover, and I was pleased that she was also happy to put the crema on the side (bf is lactose intolerant but likes to torture himself). Considering that it was past closing at this point, and that the people in front of me also had a big order (5 large, various, whipped-cream-topped complicated looking drinks), I got my items *fairly* quickly. And THEN... (dun dun dun) she gives me a fully stamped stamp card for a free item next time because they didn't have what I originally wanted. Nice touch! Normally this experience would have warranted four stars, but then I got home and tried the raspado and fruit... PROS: - Drink was light and refreshing, not too heavily salted or sweet, which has been my experience in the past. Strawberries nicely sliced and sweet. - The ice in the raspado was kind of chunky, but not hard and easy to chew (the wonders of modern science). - Price was standard for what I've experienced (4.75 for the raspado and 5.50 for the bionico - but pretty big portions. CONS: - The crema for the fruit was too sweet - I normally oversweeten my drinks and such, and this was too much for me. - Not much fruit in the raspado, so I didn't get the strawberry kick I was hoping for. I'm thinking the time I got there may have affected the quality a bit, so I want to go back and see how things go. read more

I think the only place in town around this area. The fruit i bought was $5.50 (i think a bit overpriced) being that other places in the ghetto are cheaper. Anyway i split the fruit with a coworker.
