After reading so many great reviews for this place, I was hoping to be able to finally get rid of my rodent problem. Initially, all seemed well as I reached out to Rat Trappers and they were responsive about setting a time to come inspect the house. Andrew, the owner, came and even looked through the attic of our house and gave us advice on using rodent poison and why it may not solve our problems adequately. Overall, quite happy with that experience which lead my family to wish to proceed further and have our house rodent proofed. This is where our situation started to sour. I was told that we'd get an email with a quote of the price based off of square footage. That was quite fair and I pointed out that our attic only extended to roughly 1/2 of our house contrary to most other houses. Not sure if this caused them to realize this might not be that profitable but afterwards I never heard back from Rat Trappers. I even reached out a week later and still no response. I am way overdue on posting this, got delayed then all this COVID stuff. Anyway, we used their services September 2019. We were able to have initial visit/check-up really quickly, then all the work that needed to be done took place the following week. It was a 2-man crew over 1-2 full days, they went throughout attic, crawlspace, and scrutinized all openings and entrances over the outside of the house. This company did an excellent job locating all openings, however small, in our attic and securing the entire area so nothing can get in! We left a message on a Friday and the owner, Andrew Arenas, called back quickly as requested. He was very responsive and made an appointment the same day. He sent out an employee named Rob Mygrant. Rob did an inspection for us that day and determined what was needed. He was very knowledgeable and provided exceptional customer service! We immediately decided to accept his quote. A few days after the inspection, Rob and another employee came to do the work required. They were punctual, reliable and did great work. We hired this company to rat proof our home for $1000 and 18 months later rats again infested the attic . I called and asked if the rat proofing was intended to last long term or just a year or two for which I never got an answer but she did explain to me that It would cost $200 to remove one dead animal and another $500 to re -proof the house . read more

Rat Trappers Rodent Proofing is an amazing company. I had a rodent issue and they were able to come out to access the situation and provide me a quote which after doing some online digging I found was extremely fair and reasonable. I was given a 2-year warranty on all work performed and if rodents return a promise they'll come out for free. What they did: They rodent proofed my attic and roof by identifying and sealing any points of weakness. I also requested that they sanitize the area where the rodents were frequenting and they did a great job at that also with no rodent droppings left insight. Once this was complete scheduling with them was easy as I was able to give them access to my garage door even when I wasn't home. They did a stand-up job, and I always felt safe having them in my home. I was very impressed by the work that I also hired them to do some attic repair work on some trusses that had been cracked due to old age. Once the rodent proofing was complete, and the attic work was done I requested that they pigeon proof my solar panels which they did an amazing job of. Pigeons were causing a lot of problems for me and my family. My dog would get into the droppings as he likes to run outside and they began to get droppings on my solar panels. A mouse/rat somehow got into the house, so we got this company to help take care of the issue. The guy showed up and placed a few traps around the house and closed off certain points where the mouse may have utilized to enter the house. Three weeks later, his traps still hadn't caught anything and all the guy did was repeatedly assuring me that his bait was the best and I needed to be patient. Patience is a difficult virtue to maintain when you occasionally see a rodent run across the kitchen. Eventually I took one of the traps and switched out the bait and location, and the mouse was caught that same night. The service also came with a year warranty. If we get rodent issues within a year, he said he would take care of it for free. (part of the service was to make changes on the property so rodents cannot enter the house again) 10 months later, a rat got in. I called rat trappers and left a message explaining who I am and why I was calling. No response. 3 days later I left another message, no response. Then I got my wife to call, the guy actually picked up, he said he would check his records and call back. Never did. Then my wife called again and left a message. No response. A week after that I left another message and the guy never responded. After that, I hired another person to take care of the issue. It was the middle of the night and I wanted a midnight snack and was making some Udon noodles in the kitchen. I started hearing scratching sounds coming from my living room heater vent. My dog heard it too and immediately started staring down into the darkness. I laid on the floor next to her and peered down into the vent with a flashlight. We could clearly hear chewing and digging. I wasn't about to have rats living under my house. Nip it in the bud and stop the procreation ASAP. I hopped online and actually used Yelp to find this company. I called them and within a few days they sent out someone to examine my house and give me a quote. We set up an appointment for them to come back earlier in the day to rodent proof everything. A few more days passed until it was time for my appointment. He spent about two hours putting new screens around the vents under my house, put cement putty in all the cracks everywhere, set traps in my attic and in the crawl space under my house. It has now been almost 3 weeks and not a peep from the walls or vents or anywhere. They will come out to empty the rat traps every few days and will guarantee my house rodent free for a whole year. Very happy with the service so far. After initial phone call, Andrew, the owner came to take a look at our attic. He gave a reasonable quote and we decided to go with his service. After sealing the entry point, they set a few traps and came back every 7 to 9 days to check if trap caught any rats. After a couple of months and 3 dead rats, we stop hearing noises in the middle of night and there were no more rats. A couple of months later, we started to hear noise again.=( Apparently, rats really like our attic and dig another hole on our roof and came back in. Andrew is professional, great to deal with, and he runs his business well. He is definitely the type of guy you want to work with, and I have enjoyed working with him. However, after working with him for 5 months, I still have rats in my home, and Andrew is out of ideas. I need to move on to another rodent-proofing company, even though I have enjoyed working with Andrew. While Rat Trappers may be good for small jobs, I do not think he is ready for big jobs at this point. The details: My neighborhood has lots of open area (1+ acre lots and the wildlife that come with it), so I knew my house would be under constant pressure for rodent entry. I was looking for a rodent-proofer who could find EVERY entry point and potential entry point and seal them professionally. Andrew came out after his initial inspection and sealed all of the entry points into my house that he could find. He laid out the traps and was punctual in arriving to empty the traps. This went on for a few weeks. On one of his follow-ups, he found another tunnel and sealed that for an additional fee. We then continued the cycle of trapping and cleaning. The intent was to seal all of the entry points into the house such that the rats in the house are trapped inside. After starving for a while, they would make their way to the trap and, snap, they are on their way out. The problem was that after a few weeks of cleaning traps, no more rats/mice were getting trapped. However, usually a few weeks later, I would find evidence of rats in the house again. After doing this cycle a few times, Andrew was out of ideas on what to do; he could not find additional entry points, and he could not figure out how these pests continued to live without going to the traps. The result: I still have rats in my house. What about Rat Trappers guarantee to return for free if the rodents return? Well, the guarantee covers the sealing work they did. In other words, if Andrew missed an entry point or the rats find an alternative way into the house, you get to pay again to seal the additional entry point. Andrew will return for free to empty and reset traps, but this is a futile exercise if the entry points are not sealed. While this is not unreasonable to me, I am looking for a rodent control company who can locate and seal ALL of the entry points and potential entry points to keep the rats out for at least a year or so, rather than the slow dribble of finding a missed entry point and re-starting the trapping cycle.
