Ai Tre Scalini was such a great find in Rome! Everything we had was absolutely delicious. The…read moreeggplant parmigiana was rich, flavorful, and one of those simple Italian dishes that you keep thinking about afterward. We also had a beautiful selection of Italian cured meats that was perfect for sharing. The atmosphere is exactly what you hope to stumble upon while wandering through Rome--cozy, lively, authentic, and full of character. Great food, great wine, and the kind of place that makes you want to linger a little longer. Definitely a spot we would return to!

We ordered one of their more natural red wines available chilled, and Pane & Olio EVOO, and Salsiccette al Tartufo. The bread was so fresh (baked in house daily), and also came with a spicy olive oil option as well as salt and pepper and a plate to dip. The sausage was the perfect little snacking cup with toothpicks and overall everything went well with our wine. They also gave us the little circular baked crackers to dip in our wine. When we were called we were moved to the main dining area which was adorable. Nearly every table had unique artwork on the surrounding walls. We then ordered more of the same wine, the Bonaccia salad, and the Parmigiana di Melanzane con Ricotta Salata. The salad was SO good. It was perfect with lemon and delicious olive oil dressing and an even mix of lettuce, cooked diced potatoes, olives, octopus, sundried cherry tomatoes. The eggplant was a fantastic texture, not too soft but tender and the cheese on it was immaculate. We were too full for dessert but the waiter offered us free limoncello shots as a night cap. My favorite part of this spot was how fun and kind the staff were to us. Letting me practice my Italian, giving great recommendations and overall being super accomodating. I'd love to come back.

It is not in a touristy part of town at all, you wouldn't think it was much just from the outside, but once inside it is beautiful. The atmosphere is very romantic and the food - delicious. It's not your typical kind of restaurant though. Basically you get a choice of meal sized antipasto dishes - you'll enjoy cured meats, cheese, bruschetta, different types of pickled or marinated or sun-dried vegetables, wonderful wine, and amazing locally made honey and marmalade to accompany the different types of cheeses. Oh, and the dessert is fantastic so make sure you treat yourself! It is WELL worth it. The host, Yuri, was an absolute delight. He spent a lot of time with us making sure we were happy and got the right types of dishes for us, and regaled us with stories about his favorite place in the world, Napoli. We had no interest in going there but after talking to him, we are now very excited to plan our trip. Basically you go to Vincanto to experience a different way of eating, a beautiful ambience, wonderful wine, and delightful hosts. We very much enjoyed our night here and you will too.

A simple Google search for "live music near us" in Naples led us to Keste, and it turned out to be the best musical experience we've had not only in Italy but in our entire lives. We arrived at Keste on a Wednesday evening around 10 pm. My musician husband immediately noticed a drum kit--the first he had seen since we arrived in Italy. The amazing wait staff greeted us warmly and promptly handed us drink menus with clear prices, contrary to some reviews claiming they were overcharged. Our drinks arrived quickly, and we instantly felt at home. The locals, who seem to frequent this bar on Wednesday nights (which we learned is jam session night), asked if we played music. My husband, a drummer, was invited to collaborate on the drum kit--not once but multiple times throughout the night. What was meant to be a one-hour stop turned into an all-night amazing experience. The bar seemed to get even better as the night went on! The vibe at Keste was nothing short of incredible. The music, the owner, the staff, the openness, and the overall sense of belonging made us feel right at home. If you are a musician in Naples, this is THE place to be. If you enjoy music and great people with great energy, this is THE place to visit. I can't wait to return to Naples to visit Keste and reconnect with the wonderful people who frequent it!
