In fact I spent a but of time simply walking around the building simply admiring its architecture. The Schouwberg is actually the Antwerp Opera House, and while it would have been good to go inside, and possibly even see a show, unfortunately time was at a premium. Still, even if you don't get to go to the Opera, or even have the opporunity to step inside, it is still worth checking out, even if it is simply o check out the building itself - it is absolutely magnificent.

Okay, this may not be at the top of the Yelp list of pubs, but it was the only one that was open…read morewhen I happened to be in Antwerp and I have to admit that it was pretty cool. Actually, what was annoying was that the outside area was pretty packed which meant that we ended up having to sit inside, which wasn't a bad thing, but the European outside experience is much better than it is in Australia (in many cases they try to be European and fail abyssimally - for some reason I simply don't like sitting on sidewalk seats in Australia). Anyway, this is basically a beer bar, and a pretty cool one at that. When I was there it was pretty quiet (except for the fact that there were no seats outside) but it had a pretty nice atmosphere and a great interior. Personally I probably can't say all that much beyond that, expect that it was pretty cool and I really enjoyed it.
