This is a great choice to fly in and out of. It's smaller and easy to get through, plus there are…read moremany bars, restaurants and shops to keep you busy until your flight leaves. If I have a choice, I will choose to fly into Dusseldorf instead of Frankfurt, but Frankfurt does have a lot more options. I have been through here many tomes over the years, and it has always been a pleasant experience.

In my case my cooling vest and ice packs. Security, TSA, Police all were called and after explaining what it was and showing a letter written and signed by my doctor explaining what it was and why it was needed, a few swipes and some tests and we were good to go. Hot tip: bring a doctors note for ADA medical devices etc. It just might get you out of a jam.

It is a large station with 16 rail platforms plus four tram platforms and four Stadtbahn platforms. As such, it is Germany's sixth busiest station. The parts that I encountered were step free but I'm not sure if the entire station is such. I was able to roll my spinner suitcase easily from the train, through the station and out to the tram. Signage looked good and easy to read. Lots of food and some retail shopping opportunities here. And in 2021, masks are required throughout the train system. The main train station in Duisberg is generally clean, safe and very well organized. It's much…read moresmaller than Dusseldorf so easy to navigate and located right in the city center. There are a few shops/snack stands available so you can buy snacks for your ride as well as a very few retail stores - mostly lower end, cheap fashion accessory items. If you love Gummi candy, be aware they have a whole store of just that! There is a smaller Deutschebahn office here as well with both agents and kiosks to buy tickets.
