I found this restaurant near by the work and tried their short rib pasta and calamari, they are so good

Amazing find in a small strip mall! Small and comfortable Italian restaurant. Great service and even greater food! Gnocchi with the chicken parm was so good. We couldn't decide which dish we liked best but they were all delicious. The portion sizes were generous. Comes with freshly toasted warm bread, perfect for soaking up all the delicious sauces. Will definitely be back!

Came here with my boyfriend for Valentine's Day! We made a reservation ahead of time and were seated immediately. It's a small restaurant but the decor and ambience was very fancy. We came around 5:30 on a Saturday evening and it got busier as the night went on, so definitely call ahead for a reservation! It's BYOB, I would recommend bringing your own wine to share and pair with the food. Service was good -- our waitress was very thorough and patient when going through the specials with us. We started off with some delicious crispy bread covered with cheese, butter, and garlic. For the appetizer, we ordered the Sweet and Sour Calamari, which was pretty good -- I think I would have preferred the sauce on the side as some of the calamari got soggy at the bottom, but still enjoyable. We also got a House Salad and Vodka Rigatoni with Sausage. The vodka sauce was so creamy and tasty! When we asked for the dessert menu, they brought out their dessert items on a board to choose from. We went with the Tres Leches Cake, which was so sweet and delicious! This was by far the highlight of my visit! Overall, it was a good experience and the food was tasty but not worth the price. It's listed as $$ but I would definitely rank it as $$$ and the quality/quantity of the food did not hold up to the price we paid.

Hats off to the chef! We were two couples here fir a 5:30 pm Saturday evening dinner. From the start, we were greeted and and taken to a very comfortable table inside. They do have outside seating in a tent as well. This is a BYOB venue. Hector was outlet waiter who was excellent. There are several specials as well as delectable choices on the regular menu. I have never had a bad meal here. The sweet and sour Calamari is outrageous. The best we have ever had. We ordered the sesame tuna special which was cooked to perfection with rice and grilled pineapple. This was also amazing. I am grateful to have another meal out of my leftovers. 3 of us had the tuna and our friend had the salmon over couscous. They showed us a beautiful array of desserts but we had no room unfortunately. We love this place and consider it on our top 5 list of favorite restaurants

This is one of my favorite Italian restaurants (and I'm picky). I always bring people here when they're visiting NJ and no one has ever been disappointed with what they've ordered. Last time I went, our server Jason was awesome and gave us great (and honest) recommendations for menu items which we really appreciated. They have a great selection of items and normally have good specials too. It's also BYO which is nice! My favorites: Chicken parm- one of the best chicken Parms I've had! The serving is HUGE. The chicken is super tender and the sauce is delicious. Chicken Marsala- also one of the best chicken Marsalas I've ever had. The sauce is so flavorful, chicken is perfectly cooked, and the sauciness pairs so well with the mashed potatoes Excited to come back and try more. Highly recommend!

Another very good meal. Good & attentive service with large portions. Appetizers were gone before anyone took a pic. Out table had the short-rib tagliatelle which is a menu regular... never disappoints. Three others had the NY strip that was the evening's special. Food was very good & came out well prepared/presented. I dropped one star this time as my steak, while flavorful, was a bit tough... more so than I'd expect for Prime. Desserts were also very good. We will be back.

The ambience is smart casual, and not fussy, but with food and service that you'd expect at a place that charges double the prices. All of the food was top notch. Standouts are the artichoke heart Francese, mozzarella en corrozza, and fried calamari appetizers; and chicken Italiano, chicken marsala, and salmon Neapolitan mains. Their tiramisu and tartufo capped off the meal perfectly. If you're in Trenton or Princeton, Gennaro's is worth the drive.

We just quit going out for Italian other than for tomato pies, but now we've begun actively looking for a place to enjoy simple Italian food--outside of the ubiquitous tomato pies. Gennaro's was our first stop, with the menu definitely reading more New World Italian than Old World. We started with a couple of appetizers: The Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms in Scampi sauce and the Antipasto Salad. I'm not a fan of Antipasto salads (I've a three item max addition rule for salads and tomato pies), but my wife enjoyed it. It was your standard antipasto salad for the area--perhaps more generous with the meat and cheese than the last one we ordered up the street at Papa's. The stuffed mushrooms had a good flavor, and although the sauce didn't really hit me as Scampi (the garlic wasn't really there), it was still good on its own, and I'd order it again. My wife ordered the Pork Chop Giambotta, which she truly enjoyed. It was a thick, good sized pork chop covered with a sauce that included potatoes, sausage slices, and sautéed peppers. The menu said that the peppers were hot and sweet, but they were pretty much 99.9% hot peppers. If that's an issue for you, I'd make a point in mentioning it to your server first. My wife doesn't do spicy, but luckily I was there to find a home for the hot peppers, and she said she'd order it again if we returned. My Veal Saltimbocca, however, was a letdown. The veal was overcooked and had lost its tenderness, but most surprising to me was that it was very different from the standard version I've known for years. Had I read the description more carefully, I'd have caught the fact it was in a tomato demi-glace rather than the white wine and butter emulsion I know and love. Also, the ham that was used was not the thinly sliced prosciutto one normally sees, instead it was a thick slice of something that I can't honestly tell you was prosciutto or not. The use of spinach instead of a sage leaf wasn't a complete shock, as I've seen that before. Overcooked veal, the prosciutto mystery, and tradition straying aside, the flavor almost bordered on being alright, but it definitely wasn't what I'd hoped for when I placed the order. To add insult to injury, I asked for pasta as my side, and was given a couple choices--I chose the linguini and got served a dente-less spaghetti. When I asked the waiter (who was otherwise extremely conscientious and attentive) if they were out of linguini, I was told that there's really very little difference between the two, which so blew my mind that I just shrugged and ate. While we were there, we could see that there were many people who acted like regulars enjoying their meals, and many of them were also eating tomato pies, however, we're on the hunt for a place that's going to satisfy our need for an Italian place that provides beyond the pizza oven. I'm up in the air about a second shot--my wife was much happier than me with the location (which means we'll likely go), but I'll definitely ask our server more questions about what I'm ordering next time to avoid any surprises.

The desire to try out a new spot in the area that served up the more traditional round pie led me here. Although I stopped in for take out, they have a decent dining area between the tables inside and the outdoor patio area. I went with a standard cheese pizza and an order of garlic knots. The garlic knots (3.25/5) were a bit on the smaller side, but served in a nice portion size with a decent garlic kick to them. The large cheese pizza (3.5/5) was a small notch above the central New Jersey average, with the dough, sauce, & cheese coming together for a nice pizza experience, although I did have to sprinkle on some spices to add to the flavor profile a bit. Service (4/5) while picking up was friendly, although slightly slow at first since the guy at the counter was initially fixated on his phone for a bit. Overall, I'd rate Massimo's a 3.5/5 pizza experience, and don't mind rounding up since Yelp doesn't allow half stars and menu prices were fairly reasonable. While I'm not sure I'd choose Massimo's over other pizza competitors in the Robbinsville/Hamilton area, it's still a decent option should you find yourself looking for a more traditional round pizza experience.

Cons: While the staff was pleasant, the service was extremely slow--especially considering there were only seven tables seated and we were the first to arrive. Our table of five ordered just two appetizers, yet the entire meal took three hours to complete. This delay was not due to extended conversation but rather very slow kitchen execution and service.
