Pumpkin + squash seasonal offering (front) Ribeye + potatoes (back)

What a cute farm to table spot! We came here while in town on a Sunday. We had a reservation but didn't need one that evening. I would recommend one on a busier night (Thursday-Saturday) as it is smaller. The table ordered the grilled sourdough and grilled shrimp for starters. The sourdough is an interesting blend of ingredients giving a sweet and salty surprise we enjoyed. The grilled shrimp were very well seasoned and cooked. We had the seasonal squash and pumpkin which was incredible! The ribeye was a large portion and cooked to perfection. We also had the curry chicken which also had incredible flavor and were super juicy. The bread pudding has candied bacon and I had high hopes but it came out too eggy. We love the farm to table and sustainability efforts! The service was extremely helpful and even let us stay past close (got distracted chatting!). It was lovely and I'd go back to try more.

I'm writing this view immediately as I get into the car because I have the best service and the most incredible food at this restaurant! I'm traveling and I wanted something quiet with good wine and a good steak. I found the place. Seth was beyond amazing. He was helpful, educated and got me the best wine! His recommendations were fabulous and I can't say enough about this restaurant. If you're ever in Oklahoma City, you need to take a pitstop here get the sirloin get the hot olives you won't regret it. Cheers.

Raven was absolutely incredible. No misses. We kept ordering more food and each one was just as delicious as the other. Filet was incredible. I was hesitant because I don't like mushrooms - but those mushrooms were Unbelievable. The vegetable salad & the potatoes were also top notch. We actually ordered both deserts because the rest of the food was so good we figured the deserts would be too and we were Not disappointed. Loved the artwork on the walls and the vibes were great. Tons of waitstaff - we never went without a need. Raven has vaulted into our new favorite restaurant in OKC and will be the standard we compare other restaurants too for the foreseeable future!

Well wouldn't you know it, a brand new restaurant to review. Let's dive (bomb) right in! (I'm gonna go ahead and apologize for all the bird puns in advance - please dont... murder me). Located on Western, you will find a new concept in place of the long adored VZDs. What once was a rugged locale is now a quaint eatery with a sense of reinhabited dimensionality. The dining gallery has a diverse selection of seating along an unwavering bar, broadened by its extension into the preparation area. One glance at the wine list and you will know there is something different about this place. A limited menu of sharable plates & eye-catching ingredients prey on intrigue. Bread and Butter? Sounds simple enough... but let me tell you, it was as if it were flown in on wings from heaven itself. Easily could be an entire dinner on days my cortisol spikes (well with wine of course). I paired this with a deliciously sauced Shrimp & Cabbage plate, which in contrast, was more minimalistic than expected. For what is considered a sharable plate for two, it should have included more than 3 small crustaceans... But that's just my pinion... Next, I turned my beak to the dessert lineup. A promise of a banana thing or a peach thing. I went with peach and asked if it was safe as cargo. I was assured it was best in house, but seeing as I was moments away from rolling my body out the door, I decided to take it with me. To my surprise when I arrived home, the peach thing is actually an apricot thing? Or perhaps they are the smallest peach halves I have ever seen. Nonetheless, I delightfully pecked at the fruit feathered between layers of vanilla sweet cream, deconstructed chocolate cake and a yolk of citrus curd. A little sweet for me but nothing an espresso couldn't fix. I won't say I will be raven about this place to friends (okay, really sorry for that last one). But for what it's worth, I won't take my first experience as an omen. Thanks for the wonderful service, I like the concept and think it needs a little time to spread its wings before I return to the crow-bar. For good caws, I will end with a killer slogan: The Raven really puts the Crow in Crown Heights (okay, I'll see myself out now).

I cannot say enough good things about Raven. I found them on yelp and saw they were located in the old VZD's. When I arrived to my first visit, I was greeted by Chef Timothy Abell and I sat at the bar. The interior of the restaurant has received a vintage-chic facelift with warm lighting and curated wines. The ambiance is intimate yet inviting, perfect for date nights, brunch gatherings, late-night bites, and intimate group dinners. Chef asked me what wines I drink and was able to reccommend TWO that I had never tried before and would typically overlook. They were so good, I asked for it specifically at subsequent visits. On my first visit , Inwas excited to see oxtail Mac and cheese on the menu and it did not disappoint. The reaux was thick, creamy and flavorful without being too rich. I also saw the lamb appetizer on the menu. They are prepared fresh so not slow cooked, so expect a bit of a chew, but the seasoning pairs beautifully with the wine selection. On another visit we ordered the curry chicken - ah-mazing with just the right level of heat and savory to compliment the chicken. The steak we ordered medium was cooked just a tad too long to medium well, but that did not deter the incredible flavor. The chimichuri was so complimentary to it. Chef Abell's vision is clear: elevate vegetables to the same reverence as meat. Every steak is paired with a thoughtfully crafted vegetable dish, often sourced locally and prepared over open flame. I learned that the menu changes weekly, reflecting Oklahoma's seasonal selections. Expect wood-fired proteins, inventive vegetarian plates, and a wine list handpicked by Abell himself. I uploaded some examples available during my visits. Aside from just simply being a new fan of Chef Abell, I love bringing people here for a quiet meal to try new things. Raven also offers brunch on weekends, happy hour Tuesday through Saturday, and a late-night bar experience Thursday to Saturday.

6/5 experience! Came in solo during a long road trip, Timothy treated me like family. Curated an amazing meal with fantastic drinks, and great conversation. Highly recommend checking this place out.

The food was amazing! The place itself has cool vibes. Be prepared to wait a bit but everything is well with it! The drinks were awesome too. I will definitely be back.

Wow WOW! This casual yet sophisticated spot in OKC is way more than expected! From the grilled sourdough with warm olives to the oxtail max and cheese and castillos to the out of this world bread pudding it was one delight after another. Braised greens tanked as a table favorite! Using local artisans and ingredients, Chef Timothy brings something unique and beautiful to OKC. Highly recommend! Tuesday was perfect for a quite dinner and great service!

Finally got the chance to try Raven, and wow! We had a raspberry lemonade mocktail and a raspberry mint cocktail to start, and they were delicious. Second cocktail was "dealers choice" and our amazing server/bartender made a passion fruit creamsicle, and that is exactly what it tasted like! To eat we had the featured mushroom toast and the lobster roll. Food took a little longer than expected, but it was well worth the wait. Salt on the mushrooms was a little heavy, but it didn't stop us from eating every last bite. The charcoal potatoes were also delicious with a lemon aioli to dip them in. It wasn't very busy at all when we got there, so it was nice and quiet. The restaurant definitely kept the VZD's character. Highly recommended, can't wait to go back.

This place is incredible. Great, prompt and attentive service (the bartenders will refill your iced tea or beverage without asking) and a cool interior environment. Every one of their dishes is like a work of art and did not disappoint. Their bread-butter dish was very interesting and had a great flavorful paste with fish flakes. Their tomato / burrata caprese salad was also on point, the dressing was spectacular. Their max and cheese (cheese with elbow pasta) was to die for and a very innovative twist on a classic. Finally, I got both of their desserts - a brûlée banana bread and an orange chocolate trifle - both were amazeballs but the banana dish had more of a memorable comfort-food flavor. Definitely recommended! It is also where VZD used to be!

So the daughter and I headed on over to see if its still as good as I remember. Crab cake appetizer. You only get 1 but it had some great flavor with the remoulade sauce. The only negative was the tiny pieced shell in the crab cake. Unfortunately thats almost a given for fresh pulled crab meat. Farm salad was very fresh and had a great dressing. I believe it was a white balsamic vinaigrette. I ordered the ribeye,With garlicky spinach. The steak had great flavor. I wish it would have been more tender. But overall, the cut of steak was really good. My daughter ordered the New York strip with fingerling potatoes. The way she demolished that steak tells me that she was hungry and that it was delicious. Naturally, we ordered the whiskey cake for dessert and it did not disappoint. It was everything I remembered. From the spiced pecans to the bourbon cream sauce. I hope to stop by before I leave town and get another one for the road!

Lastly, you have to try their whiskey cake at LEAST once. I finally made my way here tonight before a work get together and initially I enjoyed the space and atmosphere. It is very cozy and intimate, and there are not many bars like it in OKC. However, when it came to the bartenders (two from my interaction) and cocktails -- my experience was less than cozy. Long story short, I asked for an espresso martini, a basic drink I know. And I was told as such by both bartenders working, one of which called me 'boring'. They wanted me to try a drink off their menu, and I respect the pride and effort this business put into crafting unique, holiday cocktails. However, none of them spoke to me tonight, and I wanted a run of the mill espresso martini. One bartender asked if I would be willing to try one of their drinks similar to an espresso martini, to which I agreed, however I still did not enjoy and requested a regular (boring and basic) espresso martini. They said they typically avoid making these popular drinks, but made an exception for me. Which is really unfortunate, because it was one of the best espresso martinis I've had in the city. Both bartenders later apologized for their comments, but I'm unsure if they were genuine or trying to save face. All in all, if you're willing to explore untraditional cocktails with a cozy vibe, you should try this place. If you have a simple pallet, that doesn't need to be wowed, it's questionable if you should visit. If this review doesn't get me banned, I may give it another try. Happy drinking!
