I finally had a moment to try the tri tip sandwich. It was good. Not amazing, but the portion and sauce options made the experience. I'm full! The service was quick and simple. The ladies working today were professional and very informative of their menu and the jerky that they sell. The beans are really good. Like a chili based bean mix. Not too thick, not too watery. The flavor was savory. Ambiance is an old building. It's clean, but it needs some love. I do see the efforts to wipe everything down and make sure it's clean in there. Just stopped and purchased 2 breakfast burritos. They are the worst I have ever ate! Sausage was Italian sausage which was almost on the burnt side and eggs were overcooked. I went to Ravens deli today and had a very good lunch. We ordered the pit Turkey sandwich with everything but salsa and jalapeño and one beef tamale. The Turkey was perfect and was still moist. The bread was nice and soft. Overall, a great simple sandwich. The tamale was good. The beef had nice flavor and the tamale was not too dry. Delicious, generously-sized sandwiches. The roll is soft and the meat has that subtle, smoky "pit" flavor. It's not a deli in the sense that they have cold cuts and cheeses, etc. They do a few sandwiches all in the pit style, but they are bomb! I've only gone to Raven's for one thing and one thing only JERKY! I love their beef jerky. I've been going there for years. I know with the change of times comes inflation and everything goes up. But it's becoming tougher and tougher to see me paying their prices for the jerky. They have always been friendly and attentive. I've never tried their food although I always see people in their dining eating. read more

I know I've rated this place 5 stars before and I'm not going to knock them down because in the end, the food is still delicious but they did me dirty on Friday and am going to assume it was an honest mistake. I had head that they had beef tamales here and have been itching for beef tamales since the season started. I figured what better place than ravens! I came here Friday on my way home from work. I asked the girl if they had beef tamales which she said yes, but only 10 and she could complete my dozen with either two pork, chicken or cheese. I told her the pork would be fine. Come home happy as a clam with my dozen fresh hot tamales and when I go to eat them she had given me two pork and the rest chicken. I was so mad, but I think the fact that I was hungry and it had been a long hard day at work saved them from me going back to right the injustice. The pork were amazing! Had that ravens seasoning taste. The chicken, well were chicken. Good taste and appeared to be mostly white meat, but still....chicken. I cook enough chicken at home. I don't need to go out and buy it in my tamales. Unless I'm getting orange chicken, going to chick-Fil-a or Popeyes, keep your chicken! Moral of the story, make sure you get what you pay for. read more

If you are reading this.... Get here ASAP!! Well worth the long drive if you are not close.*This is the most wonderful place. My first trip here was somewhere around 1979-80. Yes you read that right. We have been going here for around 40 years. Each Thanksgiving my family would stop and pick up the most wonderful smoked turkey. The bird is whole chilled and ready for pick up on your requested date. We usually would have this as the snack bird. Everyone would eat it with cheese and crackers or make sandwiches out of it. On Thanksgiving day we would always roast up another fresh bird for dinner. This year we decided to have the smoked bird as the main meal. Needless to say. It was incredibly good. Lots of flavor in every bite. It was my first time warming the whole thing and it was super easy. We will be doing this again next year forsure. Oh yea. They have a deli that will feed you before the drive home. For us its 1.5 hours each way. We always make a fun lunch trip. Stop by and see this great family. My burgers arent cooked all the way my fries were cold n some of my food tasted old or just plain not good. Extremely nice family style business and staff was extremely nice to me, I wanted to love it but just couldn't. Prices were good. They let me sample the meats as it was my first time there for my sandwhich. Tritip was not good, got the deep pot beef ( I believe it was called). The meat was extremely dry. Had to drench it in the sweet Ray's bbq sauce. Bought the small pack of all flavors of jerky so I could taste them all. I threw them all away after having 1 piece from each bag. I'm sorry but out of 7 flavors they all tasted exactly the same and extremely dry and hard. I work south of Hanford, and one day for a holiday feast, our group in my work area pooled our funds and we ordered deep pit meat, both turkey and brisket from Ravens. This was my introduction to Ravens and it was dynamite. We had tons of food it was amazing and the turkey was so moist and well flavored. Since that time I have seen the Ravens seasoning pop up in Fresno ag. So when I found myself in the Hanford and ArMona area on some other errands, I jumped at the chance to stop by there on the way home. I bought both deep pit roasted beef, and some pulled pork. Both of them were delicious and they offered to give me in addition to my meats the juices that went with it so that I could do my own French dip type sandwiches if I wanted to. The meats were really well seasoned, and so moist and flavorful. Both the beef and the pork just melted in your mouth. I even bought extra to share with my neighbor who had done a favor for me. She was shocked that I knew about Ravens Deli and I felt very smug about being able to surprise her. But enough of that. The deli is in an unassuming little building that has plenty of parking out front. In fact the appearance of the deli belies the scrumptious delights that are within with these meats. So don't let the appearance of this deli put you off just go on in and order up a storm. You will be thrilled and surprised with the quality of this delicious deep pit roasted meat. read more

Ordered the linguica sandwich and a side of fries. Once I received my sandwich I noticed nothing was on it. Good thing I saw a sign that said "sandwich fixings, in case below" so I got up and added the condiments to my sandwich. The sandwich fixing station was low on all ingredients. I even had to ask the employee working to re stock the pickles because they were completely out. The girl working the counter never smiled once, and I felt like I was bothering her when I ordered and when I asked her to restock the pickles. The ladies working were only friendly to the men that were in there, I got the vibe that they only like the regulars. Once upon a lunchtime dreary, while I pondered weak and weary... Indeed, I was pondering driving out to Harris Ranch for a top-notch steak luncheon when my coworker recommended the Raven, invoking the magic words 'tri-tip'. Thus I hove off onto yet another fools errand. Upon arrival, the line was almost to the door, but moving swiftly. The dining area was about 80% capacity. All good signs. Everyone seemed to be ordering the various meats on sub rolls. The sandwiches came plain, and there was a generous self-serve fixings bar stocked with quality ingredients. Both shredded cheddar and a shredded mexican white cheese. Now things were looking real good. I eschewed the bun and went straight to the business at hand. One pound of pit beef and one pound of tri-tip please. Served promptly and with a smile by the cheery and helpful young lady behind the counter. The food was ghastly. The pit beef, although moist, resembled my mother's goulash, or, more correctly, what my mother called goulash. The tri-tip seemed as if the chef originally intended to make beef jerky, but remembered it was to be served warm minutes prior to completion. I have actually had packaged jerky that was juicier than that tri-tip. In either dish, the only flavorant seemed to be salt. I mindlessly pounded back the pit beef purely to sate my gnawing hunger, and took the tri-tip to throw at the menacing feral dog at the Tachi reservation. Eat at the Raven? Nevermore. read more

Decided to give it another try. First time was a horrible experience and the second time was even worse than the first. Customer service is horrible. Even for a mom and pop establishment some sort of customer service and hospitality needs to be put into place. No greeting, no apology for long wait or a "we will be right with you". Workers just continued doing what they were doing and did not acknowledge the guest at all, equally bad both times. I had the special of the day 2 ground beef tacos rice and beans. The grossest tacos I've ever had, even taco bell's tacos are better. Not authentic rice and beans, not sure how to explain it as just gross. Not sure what kind of meat was used, was not ground beef more like a turkey ground. Which would've been fine had it been stated that way on the menu. Came in today to try out a dozen pork tamales. I will start this off by saying the tamales are huge and they were actually delicious BUT I found not one but two thick small black hairs in my tamale! They were cooked into the masa, I know I should've taken a photo but I was so grossed out I tossed it and had to go pick my son up from school at that point. My husband and I have since been sick all day! Really bad stomach pains! Idk what they are doing back in the kitchen or how dirty/clean it is but we will never be eating there again.
