Recently extended with superbly built new classrooms, the school was originally built over 1843 the school has some charming features providing a cosy atmosphere. We were particularly impressed with the school's focus on ensuring that new children have a managed start to school with varying attendance levels in the first 6 months aligned to the age and readiness of each individual child. Relationships with parents are managed well, in my opinion, with any problems dealt with fairly and always mindful of the childs welfare.

The headteacher, David Smith, has received mixed results since his arrival in 2001, but is generally perceived as supportive of his school. Recently re-decorated, the buildings vary in age from the newer modern foreign languages block, to the much older science tower that dominates the school.
