Service is good and quick and they offer lots of the post office sending services, including moneygram. I'm not sure if they have all the forms for driving licenses/passports etc, but other than that it's great! There's loads of parking on the street nearby as well. Well worth a visit!

It is in a newsagents type shop that sells a few basic essentials and at the end of the store they is a desk where you can send your post with Royal Mail. I have been to this post office many times, it has parking just outside but that can only fit a car or two, if all else fails they is street parking. The staff are also very nice here and I always find myself having a conversation with them, every time I do visit. As well as sending letters you can also sort out Car Tax, Foreign Currency, Travel Insurance and even get National Express tickets at this branch! (and they is more!) This post office is just one of the examples of why you should be supporting your local post office as coming here sees friendly staff and avoiding long queues you would see at the nearby Middleton branch for example.

I used the equipment without knowing this because there was no sign to say it was out of order. the machine took my money, and when I went to explain this to the staff, they started huffing and puffing and acting like it was my fault. One of ladies (staff) started shouting at me and making threatening comments. Absolutely horrified that people are allowed to work in yhe service industry. Disgusted that no action will be taken against the individual who treated us with such rudeness and disrespect.

I absolutely love it when post offices combine being a post office with selling odd little items too, some of which have nothing to do with post or stationary. Stockport Road Post Office is a prime example for this. Here, not only can you post a parcel, but you can also buy confectionary, insoles for your shoes, cigarettes behind the counter and Daz washing powder. Excellent. The staff are pleasant and well-presented and the queue moves quickly so that despite the lack of those self-service machines which I love so much, I'm sending my parcel within just a few minutes of walking in.

Forget the queue, take a number and have a seat on the red sofas. I did notice that there were a couple of people who were confused by this and tried to queue up only for the staff to inform them that they needed a number. Of course, it got a bit more interesting when they were trying to direct the customers to the computer to get a number from behind the counter. As usual there are currency and passport services available. When you get a number from the computer, you do need to specify what service you are in need of so you can be allocated the correct number. After I had taken a number and plopped myself onto a red sofa, I noticed to the right of the door are self-service kiosks which you do not need a number for. They were quite busy as well with one staff member helping out if there are any problems. Typically I use self-service kiosks in the U.S., but since they were just as busy as the staffed desks and I wasn't entirely sure what post service I needed, I chose to continue waiting. They have packaging supplies for sale as well as some travel items (baggage tags, plug adapters, etc.). I also noticed that the ATM was inside next to the self-service kiosk, but was out of order on the day that I was there. The lady that helped me was very friendly and explained the different options of services available to me so I could make a decision about what I wanted. As I was being helped, they were trying to get more staff at the desks to speed up service. Kind of wish they would implement the number system in more post offices!

The staff are friendly here, and despite having just one staff member working at the time of my visit, she appeared to be very fast and efficient and got customers in and out quickly with a good level of service and knowledge. While I would have preferred at least two clerks working and/or the self-service postage machines, it is certainly ample for a smaller Post Office in this location. There is both street parking nearby and a small parking lot, however, the latter is shared by other nearby businesses on Parr Lane so it rarely has spaces. I would also advise you to plan your visit outside of school hours, due to the proximity to the nearby school, the area can become a little unpleasant. 4*
