We live in Lighthouse Point and recently had Ray Qualmann Marine Construction replace our old 110-foot wooden dock with a new concrete dock in fall 2025. They exceeded our expectations from start to finish. The old dock was removed and the new one installed in record time, and the quality of the work is exceptional. The dock is incredible, beautifully built, and clearly done right! The entire process was seamless and professional, and you can tell this is a company that knows what they're doing. We've just completed another project in LHP with Ray Qualmann and are very happy again. Originally we redid our seawall and a completely new dock the width of our property. The dock is absolutely gorgeous and we were well advised by Kyle. We had quick service, as the permits are the delay. The advice and handholding that we received from both projects was so patient and very responsive. The dock project is now several years old and still looks brand new. Having worked with many south Florida contractors, not to mention marine contractors that can't keep up with demand here, my expectations were reasonable with regard to timing and quality of the experience. Just written a review we had Qualmann start construction on replacing are seawall December 23th . The workers should up and dis assembled the existing dock and started the Seawall repair after the finished that the barge left and no one appeared for weeks! We had at most 2 workers at a time showing up at different times. After the walk way to the Seawall was poured they disappeared for two more weeks we now have the forms for the project all over the property and the start of the dock has not even started! It is now almost April! We haven't even been able to use are pool since December. I have nothing but good things to say about Qualmann Marine Construction and Southeast Boat Lifts and Marine Construction who together put a new Seawall, concrete dock, and boat lift at my house. The Seawall and dock were raised to the highest level allowed by the city, so my backyard now feels like it was expanded by about the size of the dock and Seawall. When I signed the contact for the work they said it would take 6 to 8 weeks to complete the job once the permit was approved. The permit took a little longer than I had hoped, but once they started the job was done in 7 weeks. Except for a large barge in the canal behind the house for a few days and a bunch of concrete trucks in the front yard for a few hours there was no inconvenience at all. If I asked for something extra there was no argument, just a discussion to make sure it was the right thing and then it was completed with no uncomfortable and frustrating change orders or delays. I felt like every suggestion or question I had was handled timely and professionally. I have four neighbors that have used other contractors that started before me and they are still working on those jobs long after my job was completed and I am enjoying my backyard, new dock, and boat lift. My neighbors were all shocked when I told them everything was complete and my boat was already on the lift in the backyard. Don't use any one else if you want a pain free experience replacing your seawall, dock, and boatlift. read more

I am pleased to write this review on behalf of the owners, and as the President of the Royal Lauderdale Landings Condo Association. We needed a new seawall and dock as a result of failing seawall ties and a sinking back yard. We selected Ray Qualmann Marine and it was the BEST decision we could have made. Our condo pictures are up on their web-site and the new seawall and dock are spectacular. What is really important when selecting a company that is going to do hundreds of thousands of dollars' worth of work for you, is the end result. Getting there is half the fun. Our Board had an amazing relationship with not only the owners and office staff at Qualmann, we had personal relationships with the guys on the various crews, demolition, pile driving barge, building the forms for the new seawall, concrete, building of the new dock. Qualmann is working on a number of dock and seawall projects at the same time so expect at times no activity for a day or two, but don't get upset, this is how this process works and it works WELL!. I purchased an inspection from the company. The report indicated some minor maintenance items were needed around $1000. I went to their HQ to pay for the inspection in person and to give the go ahead on the maintenance repairs. Lady who took my payment said she would get me on the schedule. About 5 months later I called to inquire about the repairs and also ask fir a new project to raise my cap. I was told something fell through the cracks on their end on the repair but they would reschedule again. I followed up a few days later with Mitchell Scavone, the President, of the company. Mr Scavone basically told me that a form did not have my signature and that I was the reason they failed to perform. I can say this, in my 45 years of doing business with all companies big and small I never encountered anyone as unprofessional as Mitchell Scavone. read more

He did our seawall but used old wood to do forms which mad for poor finish work. Broke 3 of weep holes. Spots in dock where rebar rusting through. Cleats and sleeves pulling out of concrete. Concrete over pour in water . He promised over 20 times would fix issues but never did. Has multiple names for company. Be aware. Great sales man but gives lip service. Sadly, I had a very bad experience with this company. Originally they estimated our seawall repair would take 6 weeks.....I figured 3 months. It turned out to be 7 months!! ...and even then only after I hounded them every week to get the job done. Literally, I called them more than 100 times over 9 months. They were hopeless, full of excuses every week....blaming one subcontractor after another. (no, they do not use their own employees) Eventually after 12 months I had to hire another contractor to finish the job. So my advice is STAY AWAY!! They will tell you anything to get your business and not deliver. Try SeaTech....they have a good reputation. read more
