I've been to this place both as a general pub-goer and also entertainment, and I love it…read more It's a family run club in a remote area of canvey, and everything about it is right, the mood, the setting, the atmosphere, there's even some old arcade games in the corner. Whilst not having much for kids, there is a great time to be had, and the atmosphere is always very calm and quiet, the lighting adds to the mood, and it's a great place for a quite night out to have a few pints with your friends.

It has seating for approx 2000 people, as well as an outside area which is like a casino with about 20 machines. It also has a good restaurant. Prices are reasonable but reminds me a little of school canteen cooking and it can have long queues if you go when the break is on.

You still have to pay an entry fee if you are not a member though (not sure what it is i think it's 1 pound) Most nights it can be dead although some nights it can be very active and there are lots of quizz and bingo nights which pay a very nice amount if you become the lucky winner. If you go up the stairs you will find the toilet's and a snooker room. In all the times i used to go there to play snooker, please beware that you must book the table in advance otherwise you wont get a game. The beer is good but i think more variety could be had here. Nice friendly staff and also there are 2 big widescreen mounted tv's and plenty of fruitmachines ect.

Have a lot of events and activities for members and do food some days and weekends. Beer and other drinks are well priced and people have to show their passes to gain entry which stops the youngsters coming in. The drinks are very cheap indeed, but don't go expecting salubrious surroundings, this is what a proper village club should be, down to earth and social! They have the odd event on, including an annual beer festival, and I think it's available to hire for private parties. There are two distinct areas of the club too, so you can sit and do the bingo with the olds or watch the footy and play snooker with the boys.

Its attached to a really large hall which is also really reasonable in the rates. Its about £30 per hour for childrens parties and £220 for weddings, on saturdays etc. The staff are always really friendly and the lady that runs it is lovely.
