This place was a real treat. It's advertised as being an orchard with over 350 different variety of stone fruit. Not sure I tried all these, but we certainly enjoyed our tractor tour of the orchard, trying as many fruits as you want at each stop and then Patong only 5.00 per kilo for whatever you picked. Tour was 25.00 per head but we had a lot of fun. Have I reviewed already? Think I have but its worth it. Fruits available for tasting or purchase is seasonal. Bring the kids and the dog. Rayner's Orchard currently grows over 450 varieties of fruit and is around an hours drive from the city centre, located in Melbourne's fruit bowl, the Yarra Valley. Visit this real working farm to discover life on the land and take a fruit tractor tour around the environmentally sustainable orchard, try the varieties that are ripe at the time (usually around 10 different fruits) Learn about the different varieties of stone fruit, taste and compare their different flavours and textures. U pick is available on tractor tours. Every week we have different varieties of fruit ready for eating, so every tour is different. Learn how to preserve fruit the old fashioned way in our custom made bottling kitchen, and get to take home your own bottled fruit. Booking are essential for bottling sessions. Our fruiting Plant Nursery stocks hundreds of varieties of fruiting plants, many of these are dwarfing and super dwarfing varieties. Visit our shop where you can have a coffee, meal or snack, or browse the large range of natural stone fruit. Our function room is perfect for conferences, event and weddings.
