With the strong links that have been built Barwick Parade County Primary School recently gained a new Pre-school department through the Sure start initiative. The school is small - in many ways like a village school - and therefore all the children know each other. Positive behaviour and attitude are encouraged by all staff. When new children start in reception, they are put under the guidance of their own year 6 buddy. This helps the new kids settle in, and helps the older ones to develop even more responsibility. All in all, a superb school.

There was around 650 pupils when I was a pupil (left 4 years ago) but I do believe it is continually expanding. I enjoyed almost all of my time there and would recommend it to any parent looking for a good school for their children. The staff are excellent and largely eccentric, which all adds to the experience in my opinion.

The food is excellent, and is frequently featured on news programmes/teachers tv. The teachers are all fab,very friendly and they all want to help your child achieve the best I can. The headteacher was given an OBE and also recieved the Ted Wragg Lifetime Achievement Award, both due to the outstanding effect he has had on the school. There are a great choice of school trips, many of which are foreign exchanges, including a 7 week one to Melbourne, Australia in Yr 9! If you are in the North Yorkshire Area and are unsure where to send your child for secondary school, this is the place!

I still know as much information at what I knew before, apart from where it is. Also, the location is quite poor to find at first, but I reckon it won't be as hard to find if you study here. These are my opinions about the place, and depending on what people want to study, the ratings will differ.
