Unfortunately I wish I could leave a good review. However here we are a year later and my child…read morejust now feels safe enough to tell me about Michelle the owner of this daycare. He told me "I love my new school mama but I don't like my old one". I of course inquired and asked questions. He stated he always got into trouble even though he did nothing wrong. He said he always put into time out and he didn't know why because he did nothing wrong. Which I fully believe as he's never been in trouble or at his new school and I've been told how well mannered and sweet he is by multiple staff. I asked him if he ever got hit as a form of getting into trouble and he said "yeah but only what time". As I was shocked I asked who and where he got hit. He told me Ms. Michelle hit him in the cheek but only one time. My child for the longest had speech issues and in the last year they have improved dramatically. Now he's able to verbalize much more clearly since attending his new daycare and getting speech therapy offered there. On a separate occasion which was my final straw at this daycare a mom walked in with her belt ready to hit her child in front of everyone. The child was simply crying. When I addressed Michelle about this and hoped that DFS would be contacted she stated the child wasn't hurt or hit so it was not reportable. Uhm what? A year prior to that I made sure not to send my child for a week because she operated outside of her home in triple degree weather and no AC. She had her daughter cleaning and painting and walking around in a sports bra. Maybe that's ok for some kids but not a business. Once moving to the new building I thought things would improve but they didn't. Kids were hitting others and mine began to act out at home which was not normal for him- he practiced behaviors learned from school. The food is microwaved- nothing is cooked. Some of the most cheap state paid for meals is what is offered such as plain grits. Lastly they rarely get to consider and when they do it's the 1/4 the size of a normal backyard at home. She is closed more days than she is open most of the time. Constantly closing for illness or surgeries of her own in Mexico. Taking weeks off for holidays or her bday. Parents can't afford to miss this kind of work. This may be acceptable to some parents but it wasn't for me. Kids deserve more. I never hit my child so I'll be damned if someone else does- even if once or not. He did tel me about being in time out but I thought he had done wrong. He hadn't. It makes me sad but has opened my eyes to intuition of a mom and being more alert to reality in this world Thank god for our new daycare in the northland. It's Amazing and he has awesome teachers. He loves going to school vs crying an sad about going to this daycare. Do yourself a favor and don't send your child here. Especially if they can't speak for themselves or too young. She's not a nice person and my kiddo now knows good vs bad people in this world and when to speak up for himself. She will probably fight this review and that's fine. I have no reason to debate the woman. I know truth vs lie as does she. She is the one that has to live with the guilt of running her business with KIDS as she does. Innocent kids. Don't send yours here.

I found out a couple of weeks ago that I can get a discount membership to the YMCA through my job,…read moreand being that I'm a lazy couch potato, I decided that working out was much needed. I'm loving this YMCA. The staff is SUPER friendly and willing to answer any and all questions. There is an integrated child care center, 2 indoor pools, lots of cardio and strength training machines, and an indoor walking track. They also have a pretty extensive schedule of group exercise classes. The building is 2 levels, and in the short time I've gone there, I've never had a problem finding a machine to use. The only reason I took away a star is cause they make me walk up 2 flights of stairs to get to the free weights after i do cardio for 40 minutes and my legs feel like jello. yeah, make the fat chick climb a bunch of stairs baha!

But if I were you I'd pay more to go somewhere else. They are very unprofessional here. My child's teacher is dating the father of another kid in the class. I see him in the classroom not picking up his kids, just flirting with her and making plans together. My kid asked why the teacher wouldn't come to our house at night "because she goes to that other kids house all the time!" I also had to explain what METH is because he told me the teacher has a kid (he is also in the class) but not a husband because the dad "loved meth more than he loved her". So yeah. Oh, and the building is pretty worn down and my son hates the food (and he's never complained about his school or daycare lunches before).
