Do you value an integrated approach, where different modalities may be applied such as massage techniques, acupuncture or IMS, along with the right exercises, to get you a complete recovery? Do you want to have a refreshing experience, where the space is calm and welcoming and the staff are friendly and warm? We believe that physiotherapy should not be done in an assembly line, where you are left alone on machines and sent to do your exercises unsupervised. We want to be with you the whole way along to guide, educate and support you. Therefore, all our appointments are PRIVATE. You choose the length of time you need. You can book times yourself, online 24/7. We look forward to meeting you and helping you reach your wellness goals.

History

Established in 2004.

Sue Shalanski, the business owner, started out on her own in November of 2004, working in a 200 sq foot house in downtown Squamish. From then on, the practice has moved a number of times until November 2009 when we settled into our current location in the brand new Rockcliff building, part of the award winning Eaglewind development. In the Fall of 2008, Sue was joined by two great local physiotherapists, Angela Newton and Karen Ogilvie. The following summer, the business grew again with two more physiotherapists, Pat McKinnon from Pemberton and Maggie Phillips-Scarlett, originally from Nova Scotia. Very shortly after that, Josee joined the group to manage the front desk and two massage therapists joined the team- Donna McMurtry and Mike Charuk. Last but not least, in 2010, New Zealand physio Shelley Cottle joined the team.

I have always been attracted to owning my own business. Owning a business forces me to dig deeply to the core of who I am and what I believe and then make that something people want to BUY! It takes a certain mental or emotional resilience to put myself "out there" and hope that people see my passion, understand what I'm trying to do AND also manage to make ends meet at the same time. I think it's one of the ultimate challenges in life and I take it on with 200% enthusiasm. I feel very self-expressed through my business, it is a reflection of me, it is a constant work in progress and it is a labor of love.

It was supposed to be a 60 minute massage, but she went well over the time. Afterward she took the time to show me a couple of relaxing stretches for before bed and in the morning. Very helpful! I just have one suggestion. This was an en suite massage. She uses coconut oil that needed to be warmed up. Without asking ,she used one of the mugs in our kitchenette as well as our utensils. It probably would have been better if she had brought her own. Some of the coconut oil was still there when she left. This wasn't a big deal, and shouldn't take away from the fact that she's a great massage therapist! I would use her again!

When I go to a place like Whistler, I need to optimize my recovery to get the most snowboarding time in. I will for sure call Nadine next time I go snowboarding in Whistler.
