Last year they replaced her water heater and they charged her $2112.87!! This year her water heater went out AGAIN. She went without hot water for more than 10 days and she's almost 95 years old!!!!! Hint took 2 days for them to arrive to check it out, then they told her (while I was there) that they wouldn't be able to fix it until Thursday (2days later)! I was appalled, but she said they are my "friends", so I stayed silent. Thursday, they said they had a part ordered and it would be next week before they could help her. Then Monday 7/20/26 they said the part was in Laredo TX. THE NEXT DAY, 2 workers appeared to fix the problem (she thought to replace the part). 3 1/2 hours later they told her she didn't have to sign anything and they left. This weekend she received a bill for what should have been covered under warranty ($736.52). To FIX her water heater, they replaced it and didn't make it clear to her. I went to look and it's a new serial number. They charged her a $75 warranty fee, 3 flex hoses, 1/2" 90degree pipe, 2 nipple pipes,1/2" tee pipe, 1/2" cap, pipe dope AND 4 1/2 hours of labor!!! It should have been covered under warranty from last year's work. But NO!! When I called thy said they only offer a ONE MONTH warranty!!!! I've never heard of that!!!! Most water heaters that I looked at have a 5-10 warranty fee!!! This is absolutely ridiculous and horrendous to think my neighbor thought they were her "friends". I think they were taking advantage of an elderly woman! Most water heater replacements cost less than $1000, they said it cost more because this was a mobile. They charged her for replaced parts that were NEW last year and for things that had to be brought up to code (in just 1year, and they charged her for all the same last year! Including bringing it up to code last year!) This company is obsolete and robbing the unwitting and innocent customers! STAY AWAY!!!!!

Had a drain clog late on a Friday (of course), only could reach Fulkerson Plumbing. We had a 7…read moremonth old baby and a mother in law coming so we had to get some resolve. We were told the service call was about 189.00 (after hours understandable) the technician would give us a price once he was there. The technician walked in and just glanced at the drain and said it would be 900.00! We were in dire straits and felt betrayed and taken advantage of. We said we had no choice with our situation and said we'd pay. He could not get the drain open after a short time and still charged over 500.00! I'm done with Fulkerson. Technician's attitude was unacceptable.

It was suggested to have a professional HVAC person look at the unit before we closed. The result of this inspection is what decided our final price on the house. So our realtor contacted Rhoads and had someone out to look at it. We were told the unit was brand new, and the guy from Rhoads who looked at it said everything was in order. That was on a Thursday morning. We took possession of the house the following evening and the a/c was not working. Called Rhoads on Saturday morning, since it was one of their guys who gave the thumbs up on everything functioning properly, and they had someone out that afternoon. The guy they sent out asked to see the invoice from the previous guy because he wanted to know who had signed off on the unit, because he took one look and saw problems. The entire thing inside was jerry rigged and it had blown a fuse. The guy left a few more fuses because he said it would probably happen again. A few days later it did go out again and so I called Rhoads again. The girl who answered the phone asked me what was happening and I started to explain and she continuously interrupted me, which just made me more frustrated. So then she called me rude. She also tried to tell me they weren't responsible, she knew or realtor had called them, etc. So my question would be who IS responsible? Our inspector said get a professional HVAC person to look at the unit, and that professional was the first guy from Rhoads who should have seen the problems and flagged them. My "you catch more flies with honey" husband finally had to cut in and tell the receptionist she needed to be quiet so I could have the chance to answer her questions, because she just wouldn't let me talk. She said she would have her service manager call me. That was a few weeks ago now so I think at this point it's probably safe to assume we aren't going to hear from them. For the record, the house has a new compressor but an old furnace, and it was suggested by more than one person, and then confirmed by an HVAC professional by another company that the issue is that the old furnace and the new a/c compressor aren't compatible, and that's why the fuses continue to be blown. The furnace needs to be replaced. And Rhoads cost us the price of a the new furnace now need. Bottom line is, call anyone but Rhoads.
