I experienced some personal trauma that I needed assistance with processing, and I was so impressed by how quickly Adventure Psychological Services and Dr. Neeley took action to help me be seen right away. I had called over ten Vancouver and Portland-based counseling offices, and was so impressed with the response I received from Adventure Psychological Services. Both Genevieve and Dr. Neeley at Adventure Psychological Services have gone above and beyond to assist me throughout the process of starting therapy, and have made everything as stress free as possible. Genevieve has been so helpful with all of my administrative questions and concerns, and has been so patient in helping me through the process of starting therapy under personally challenging circumstances. Dr. Neeley is down to earth, incredibly easy to talk to, and has provided me with valuable resources to aid in my self care and treatment. He provides a warm, calming atmosphere in which I feel safe and able to express myself comfortably and without any judgement. I feel so grateful that I found a therapist I worked well with right away, and am thankful to already be making progress in dealing with my personal trauma. Regarding his diagnosis for depression, it wasn't Natalie whom made the diagnosis, nor, at any time refer him to a psychiatrist or medical doctor for treatment. My son was prescribed with anti depressants from his G.P. when he mentioned his extreme depression & thoughts of suicide. As a mental health professional it is mandatory that she report any possible life threatening/suicidal tendencies a patient is exhibiting to another professional and/or his parents or guardians if he consented which he does & would have if it was necessary to discuss his treatment with me. However, Natalie did NO SUCH THING! As a matter of fact with the exception of PAYING THE BILL Natalie & I had no contact whatsoever regarding my son's progression with his mental state. It seems to me that when a child of 16 is having thoughts of suicide it would warrant mandatory reporting, or, at the very least referral to further treatment, &, at the very least collaboration of SOME TYPE between Natalie & a prescribing medical doctor since his depression is organic & medication is the only option for an organic depression, especially, as extreme as my son's is. In May of 2018 my son went to OHSU CDRC for full autism spectrum testing, &, only after a full day of numerous types of testing the ENTIRE team of drs. urgently recommended a higher dosage of my son's antidepressant meds due to its intensity that it effected EVERY aspect of his mental state/capabilities to a degree that it wasn't possible to get an accurate result with any/all his tests. Natalie had been seeing him for almost a year & NOT ONCE did she address such an OBVIOUS issue that a panel of doctors who saw him for a 6 hour day were able to diagnose & address with my son, &, myself the sense of urgency to raise his dosage asap because of their deep concern over his suicidal thoughts & lack of motivation in every aspect of his life. This is…read moremy first time with a therapist since COVID, and I am very glad I got to meet LMHC Rebecca Lomeland. I was afraid to go back to counseling after a bad experience with another provider at a different clinic during 2021, but I feel that Rebecca understands and can cater to my needs. I have been seeing her for a couple months now, and she has done well to help me when I come in at less than my best. The waiting room is nice and welcome to all (comfortable chairs and things for young children to do while they wait). They have complimentary self-serve refreshments such as water and coffee, perhaps some small snacks as well. There is free WiFi, which is also nice. As for the rooms where sessions take place, each counselor can decorate their own space, which helps personalize and ensure comfort to the therapist and client. I hope to add pictures to my review after my next visit. Therapists seem to be in charge of their own prices and services. They can be pretty expensive if you are out of network or end up no-showing (for example, my ~hour long session is $250 when I forget my appointment), but insurance does well otherwise. Other than that, I am happy to have Fircrest Behavioral Health as my mental health counseling service and look forward to my appointments each time.

The environment is so accepting, encouraging, diverse, inclusive, and safe to share as much of your story and challenges as you'd like. The group therapist, Deja, is phenomenal and provides amazing therapeutic care and has helped me process and overcome so many things I never thought I could/would. I also received medication management from one of their PMHNP providers, Sheela, who truly listened to me and immediately got to work on how to support my stability and mental, emotional, and physical health through medication and other supports. They provided case management services as well and gave me an extensive list of resources I could utilize to further support my journey. The individual therapy sessions I had with Deja were so helpful and supportive, and even the front desk staff were so helpful, responsive, and supportive. I simply cannot recommend this office & their providers enough.

This place specializes in psychiatric care. Psychiatry is the medical specialty devoted to the study, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mental disorders. Psychiatry is usually comprised of both a psychotherapy, and psychiatric medication aspect. If you are looking for a different approach than one that involves being put on a psychiatric medication with therapy then I suggest you find a place that only does therapy. Or bring up concerns to a provider here. But it has always been my experience that the providers at this clinic have prescribed within reason, and for the right reasons. In the interest of being non-bias I looked up provider profiles on ProPublica to check for potential conflicts of interest. I found that one provider's most prescribed drug is Ambilify. While that could potentially be a sign of influence from pharmaceutical money. The statistics are self reported to ProPublica and is something that they have been candid about. Also Ambilify has been shown to be an effect add-on medication for many manic depressive mood disorders that has no generic alternative currently. ProPublica only shows the top prescribed brand name medication so in all likely hood it is because of the lack of generic that there is even a ProPublica record for a provider from this clinic. My provider has always been honest and forward with me about my treatment and has gone out of their way to accommodate me so as to benefit my treatment. So if you are looking for psychiatric treatment then I'd recommend this clinic. But be informed about what you are receiving as treatment. They provide therapy in commonly with the addition of medication, to the best of their professional medical expertise. Don't judge performance poorly if you expected something different than psychiatric care from a psychiatric clinic. Ignorance of what psychiatry is and isn't, is not grounds for a poor review. I believe that other patients probably think positively of the care provided here as well, but with a public stigma attached to mental health it isn't something people tend to want to give a review about. So please don't let a bad review dissuade you from seeking help from this clinic. I wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for the providers at Associates for Psychiatric and Mental Health.

Stephanie, Faith and Jarrod are some of the most amazing people I will ever meet. The main thing that's difficult about this place is that's it's a for profit business. We live in America so I completely understand that's how things are done BUT the patients do feel the effects of it. I was lucky when I went there. It wasn't filled to max capacity so I was able to spend an appropriate amount of days in res 1 before I was moved to res 2. After res I spent 20 days in PHP. Before I completed the program the village filled up completely. To accommodate for this newer patients were pushed/rushed through certain stages of the program. They'd go from res 1 to res to in under 7 days. The excuse they were given was that their insurance insisted that this happened to them. After the clients contacted their insurance provider they were told that no one from RVR had contacted them what so ever. The food is here is pretty damn good. A lot of clients come here very unhealthy due to drug use. Just be careful to not over endulge so your pants still fit after you're ready to go home. The last thing I'd like to mention is that besides the res 2 room. The chairs that are provided are extremely uncomfortable. You're required to sit in class for up to 1.5 hours at a time so be prepared.

Finding myself losing insurance gaining insurance, switching from one doctor to the next. I found myself prescribed and on the drug, then off the drug, back on the drug, just to go back off the drug again... It wreaked havoc on my mental health, to a point of choosing suicide as my only way out, if i didn't find a fix... and fast. My new primary doctor referred me to Dr Greg Mitchell, citing that she did not feel qualified to once again prescribe this desperate man [me] Venlafaxine again. She was inspired. I was almost without hope when I first visited the Emerge Natural Health center. I was introduced to "New Medicine" as far as I was concerned. It was a treatment vs a drug... LENS Therapy. I still tear up thinking about the profound effects this treatment has made in my life. This is not a band-aid for my PTSD-C, it's a cure.
