The trainers (Kristie, Frank and son) provided efficient, informative classroom knowledge. We spent much of the time practicing and reinforcing what we were learning. Much of your natural instincts are wrong and I know I walked in with hesitation about actually hurting someone. I honestly wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I came here wanting to gain knowledge on how to defend myself but Troy and his instructor Kristie have given VERY unprofessional customer service. I started classes at self defense back on 02/2020. Our classes had to be stopped because the school closed due to covid. Upon returning I was still being charged for classes even though Kristie herself said she would give us time to go back over what we previously learned since it had been so long. Not only was I being charged for classes I hadn't taken yet but I was also overcharged. Kristie's demeanor when I expressed this because very negative. In addition, the school also had no concerns for covid, there was no sanitation or extra steps being taken. It got to a point where I felt uncomfortable returning. I personally reached out to the owner Troy for a refund for the classes I NEVER took and the overcharge. He stated he'd process it. That was months ago. Troy now ignores all my emails. I have been patient and have given more than enough time for the school to help resolve this behind closed doors. No one should go through what I am. This school literally charged me a grand for unused services. Troy said himself that Kristie gets paid first for every student and then he handles the refunds after that and told me not to bug her since that's her paycheck even though again, she charged my card for classes I didn't even take yet. So DO NOT leave your card on file with them!!! Once they swipe it, it's Kristie's and apparently she can swipe it whenever and however much she wants to. The pictures speak for themselves. read more

Fabulous experience. I attended with my two daughters, one of whom had recently been the victim of a mugging in Chicago. Kristie is amazing in her knowledge of the subject and delivery of her message. We all came away with tools to use if anything like that every happened again. Having been a recent victim of an assault, I think this class and the timing of it (very soon after the event) were very empowering and healing for my daughter. This class was a birthday gift. I took it with my two daughters (ages 17 and 15). It started off with basic information and movements and progressed to actual one on one with men attacking you. Terrifying, yes. Empowering 100% yes. Confidence is power and this class taught me confidence that we will not be victims. We WILL fight back and we will hurt someone to survive. I have been very lucky to find these guys to train me to defend myself in the real world. Prior to this, I did try a couple of Krav Maga places that focused more on cardio and punching bags more than how to defend yourself properly in all kinds of situations. Yesterday our family attended the women's Fast & Ferocious, 5-hour class at Reality Defense Training with Kristie Sharp. The class was informative and well organized. Kristie provided us with an explanation of the mindset, essential strategies and key target areas needed to increase the chances of surviving an unexpected, hostile attack. The hands-on application, exercises and scenarios allowed us to experience what it could possibly feel like being attacked, executing the survival skills we learned in class. By the end of the class, our 17-year-old was fully engaged and enthusiastic about the program. She told us that this class should be taught in HS physical education classes. We did a mom/daughter class on Saturday with Kristy and her gang of men. My daughter at 14 was reluctant at first as she's been in some self-defense classes through girl scouts, or clubs and she felt she was knowledgeable already. We both came away from our training feeling like this was life-changing. Starting with some simple defensive moves for the first hour or so, it seemed pretty straight-forward. But what I realized afterward that these basic moves were leading our group into a much more deeper training, where we would be very vulnerable and we would have to trust Kristy and these men training us. It did become emotional as the day went on as we were working on escaping rape situations. This is where the real trust came into play as I watched my daughter go through this. What came out on the other side of this day was empowerment, knowledge of how vulnerable we ladies are and how we can protect ourselves using our own mind and bodies.
