We drove all day and wanted a decent meal close by our hotel so took a chance on this spot since we love BBQ. Luckily, we beat the evening rush and the girl at the desk was friendly, answering our questions, although didn't seem too familiar with the menu. We were actually in the mood for whole chicken, not pulled, and were told by her that wasn't an option so were a little bummed to find out after we ordered that they do have whole chicken on the menu. In general, they have a lot of food choices which is nice. We had to ask for our table to be cleaned off, and kind of kicked the spilled food on the floor aside as we settled in. Our draft Kona beers and food were brought out quickly. I ordered a Greek salad with tri-tip and my guy had the Ortega chili tri-tip sandwich. We both looked at his over greased, soggy yet burnt bread that immediately fell apart when he attempted to eat it. He picked up a fork and said I'll just eat it like this.. My salad wasn't bad thankfully, however, the tri-tip was very overcooked, lacked flavor, and was chewy for both of our meals. We also ordered jalepeno hush puppies, which tasted ok but for six dollars were small. I feel like this place has potential but the flavors and quality of the food were not there for us. Unfortunately there aren't many food choices in Blythe so might be worth taking your chances here.

If you're in Blythe and craving some great barbecue, Rebels is the place to go! My coworker and I stopped by after some locals recommended it, and we're so glad we did. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by Michelle, who was super friendly and helpful. She took the time to ask us a few questions about how hungry we were and whether we were dining in before making some great food recommendations. When our food arrived, we were blown away by the huge portions and the variety of dipping sauces that came with our entrées. I ordered the chicken and rib combo with steak fries, beans, and garlic bread, and everything was delicious! The chicken was definitely my favorite, and the garlic bread was spot-on. My coworker got the Rebel Cheese Fries, and you really can't go wrong with those--they were so good and definitely big enough for us to share. We also got a chance to chat with Angel, who I believe was the pit-master/cook. He was really friendly and asked if we were visiting. We mentioned we were in town for a short stay, and after eating here, we could see why this place came so highly recommended! The prices are pretty accurate for what you get--definitely worth it for the quality and portion sizes. If you're driving through or staying in Blythe for the night, this place is a must-try. Thumbs up!

Was passing through Blythe on a trip to Arizona and found Rebel highly rated on Yelp. We were excited to try a local barbecue spot and this was a great option for take-out/a quick meal. It was pretty busy inside the Sunday we went. You order at a counter and they do have dining available inside. The staff working at the counter was really friendly. They have parking available right outside the restaurant. It's easily accessible from the freeway. I opted for the BLT - C and my husband ordered the Cuban. Both were delicious but I wish we had ordered extra barbecue sauce. My BLT - C was a bit dry. You have to pay for extra sauce but I think it would've been worth it. My husband also really enjoyed the jalapeño potato salad (sides also cost extra money and are not included). Overall, great spot. The bathroom was in need of some help the day I went. There was no soap and despite having a toilet paper holder, it wasn't in use. Toilet paper was situated on the back of the toilet seat. A staff working there literally exited the bathroom as I was entering. It was surprising they didn't try to stock supplies having just been in there.

Good service and ambience. Food is quite good. Make sure you put a lot of BBQ sauce on it. The pulled pork isn't that good but the brisket and Mac and cheese was good.

I used to look forward to stopping by this place every time I drove to California from Arizona. Wasn't just better than other places in Blythe, it was a destination BBQ joint. Was a five star for me back in the day. I would tell people to make time to stop here. What happened? Bun was stale on my brisket sandwich (on a Saturday). Meat was mediocre. Not terrible, just not special or standout. Needed too much barbecue sauce to establish flavor. Flavor that used to be so deep. The Brisket sandwich I ate at QT the other week out of desperation was more satisfying than this. I was so hungry. And to be clear, I ate the whole thing. The sandwich wasn't gross. And I would still prefer Rebel over the other food choices in Blythe. But it was just okay. I hate leaving this review. Would normally chalk it up to a bad day, but reading other similar recent reviews, I'm compelled to add to the chorus. Because I want them to succeed. Hope they can figure out the secret sauce and regain the magic.

The Sweet Potato Fries were incredible! The cinnamon was great with it. I also tried their Mediterranean sandwich and substituted the chicken with their trip tip. That was a thick sandwich. Delicious but the trip tip needs more seasoning so I used alot of their bbq sauce on the table

My new stop on the way to CA. 5 stars baby. Enjoyed my order taker and she recommended the smoked pastrami. Smoked pastrami! Never heard of it. OK, I'll bite. And so glad I did! It was awesome! The hoagie bun was excellent, fresh and soft. Their house sauce is really good, I would say a mixture of mayo, some spicy BBQ sauce, and ??? But it was good. That smoked pastrami...nice flavor, good smoky flavor. Excellent. Perfect combinations of flavor in the sandwich. So glad to know that there is something good to eat that's not one of the fast food places in Blythe. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Tucson-top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!

Blythe is the obligatory stop on the way from CA to AZ and I was happy that McDonald's had some competition! Rebel BBQ is in a food oasis, flanked by McDonald's, Jack in the Box, La Paloma, among others. Rebel bbq is very popular but the line moves quickly. I had 1/2 lb of brisket and my wife had the smoked grilled veggie sandwich and we split sweet potato fries. The brisket was a big miss. I'm not actually sure it's smoked -- it was a uniform grey, no smoke ring, and chewy. Frankly, I may be spoiled by great bbq in Orange County (Heritage BBQ!), but at $15 for a half pound, I was unimpressed. I just drenched it with bbq sauce and moved on. My wife's sandwich was great. Not very big, but it smelled sooo good, reminiscent of fajitas or. Philly cheesesteak restaurant. My wife ate it all and gave it a thumbs up. The sweet potato fires were good too. These waffle fries were smoky and sweet and I believe they they're salted with salt, brown sugar, and paprika(?). Either way, they were tasty. Service was friendly and food came out quickly. The interior is simple but clean. I was grateful they had one bathroom, but it had a line. Our total was $40 for two -- not bad for a bbq, but if you're looking for smoky, tender brisket, I suggest you move on. Maybe the pork sandwiches are better. Next time, I'll go for Mexican food.

The brisket, pulled pork, creamy slaw and even little bones as treats for our dogs are awesome! They never cease to please and always make this a "must stop" on the way to Phoenix or LA.

A solid 4 stars, Rebel BBQ is tasty. Right off the highway and a very local type of joint. Order up, sit and your plate comes to you. The chicken bbq sandwich was tasty topped with coleslaw. The fries very good. The chili was also tasty with onions and cheese to top off with. Baked bean side was ok. Great local ambience. Would def go back if I were passing through again.

Everything was tasty but I would make a few recommendations:…read more One is change the fake butter flavored spread or whatever it is that is used on the texas toast/sandwich bread - it cheapens the quality of your "homemade" food. Second, check the salad mix for rusty/brown/wilted bits - it totally killed the excitement I had to find your ranch dressing is yummy (i.e. not that cheap weird tangy crap many restaurants use) and my salad had ham bits but then it had like a 1/3 bad lettuce that I had to remove. Lasty, even though it's the end of the day and I know you are tired - front of the house customer service is equally as important to me as the quality of the food. It's imperative to be pleasant always and not make the customer feel like they are putting you out or burdening you - smile more at the very least - make me feel welcomed and want to back. Okay, sorry... one more - no one wants tomato slices as their only side veggie option - they were mealy, went straight in the trash, and that's just wasteful for your pocket and mine. There is no shortage of mixed veggies (frozen or canned) and I would be more than satisfied to have that as an option with real butter applied. That's just MHO - maybe the town likes tom slices and I'm way off... idk - I just didn't get it and I'm not a fan of that veggie option. Now the goods - prime rib was very flavorful (not quite med-rare as requested but the flavor made up for it), fish n chicken tenders was a good portion (though I don't think I was supposed to get 2 fish/2 chicken filets - it was still yummy along with the tarter sauce, and the salad with ham bits made me very happy... plus the ranch was quality (tasted like the good Ole hidden valley ranch dip packet w/sour cream which far exceeds that other bottled junk including the bottled version of its own, lol). Ambiance was fine for a diner but could benefit from a sprucing up to more match the feel of the outside of the building. A spring cleaning and a fresh slap of white paint to pick everything up inside. I like the little "gift shop" in the middle giving more privacy between tables. Overall, Steaks n Cakes is a much appreciated option in Blythe where a lot of quality dining options are lacking. Thanks y'all!

I always buy a large coffee and a large soda, and a cheeseburger and medium fries in one of these two cities. After one too many $14-$15 meals with a microwaved, smashed burger & one lonely pickle chip, and coffee that was usually stale and burnt, I stopped buying these items and just purchased a diet Dr. Pepper on my visits. Driving home from Arizona about 3 months ago, I stopped in Blythe for a diet Dr. Pepper. I was hungry, but I figured the soda would suffice. Something finally clicked, and I couldn't make myself drive into the golden arches parking lot. Carl's Jr. is directly across the street, and that's where I landed. What a fantastic difference! I was happily surprised that Carl's Jr. has diet Dr. Pepper, on that point alone I'm a committed customer. No microwaves in sight, no smashed buns, no lonely pickle chips - Carl's Jr. food is freshly prepared and tastes good. I think prices are comparable to the golden arches, but the food is far superior and definitely a value for the dollars I spend. Bonus - the coffee is excellent - always fresh, and a good strength. I've visited 5 times in the past 3 months, and I've ordered food each time: either a Famous Star with cheese, a Spicy Chicken Sandwich, or Chicken Stars, with medium fries. Each meal was hot, delicious, and satisfying. The team works quickly and efficiently. They pay attention to each other, and to their customers. Even when it's crazy busy, someone is aware of every customer who walks through the front door. I don't mind waiting to place my order, because customers are always acknowledged promptly. I know someone will take my order at the counter as soon as they can. I've never had to stand there hoping an employee will walk by or glance at the counter to see if any customers are waiting for help. If you're stopping in Blythe for a snack or meal, I recommend you visit Carl's Jr. You won't be disappointed.
