We are very thankful for our Rebel BBQ dinner! Michelle is awesome! We had the tastiest tritrip, fries, coleslaw, garlic bread and Mac and cheese. I made a "sandwich" with my bread, sauce, tritip and coleslaw!!! Yummers!! We kept commenting on how good and hot the fries are! After spending a hot day on the cool river, soon after lunch, we were excited to have this planned for dinner. We arrived 20 minutes before closing on a Saturday night and Michelle graciously seated us and fed us some fabulous food! She's a gem! We are so thankful for her kindness and patience, plus the great food didn't disappoint! We walked from Days Inn and appreciate how close by it is! If driving to eat there I noticed it has great parking! It's a very clean restaurant, yummy tasty hot dinner, great cold beer, and authentic kind staff! Sadly once again I got burnt by bad BBQ and I regret even stepping foot into this place. I should have been forewarned about this place as soon as I got inside the restaurant. First off the place was empty and secondly none of the food looked inviting. The only reason I picked this place was based on the good reviews but I should have looked at the worst reviews first. This was just plain garbage and an insult to anyone believing they are selling authentic BBQ. The St Louis style ribs were dry and uneatable. Their garlic bread basically was a stale hot dog bun and the coleslaw was the only thing somewhat decent but bland. We drove all day and wanted a decent meal close by our hotel so took a chance on this spot since we love BBQ. Luckily, we beat the evening rush and the girl at the desk was friendly, answering our questions, although didn't seem too familiar with the menu. We were actually in the mood for whole chicken, not pulled, and were told by her that wasn't an option so were a little bummed to find out after we ordered that they do have whole chicken on the menu. In general, they have a lot of food choices which is nice. We had to ask for our table to be cleaned off, and kind of kicked the spilled food on the floor aside as we settled in. Our draft Kona beers and food were brought out quickly. I ordered a Greek salad with tri-tip and my guy had the Ortega chili tri-tip sandwich. We both looked at his over greased, soggy yet burnt bread that immediately fell apart when he attempted to eat it. He picked up a fork and said I'll just eat it like this.. My salad wasn't bad thankfully, however, the tri-tip was very overcooked, lacked flavor, and was chewy for both of our meals. We also ordered jalepeno hush puppies, which tasted ok but for six dollars were small. I feel like this place has potential but the flavors and quality of the food were not there for us. If you're in Blythe and craving some great barbecue, Rebels is the place to go! My coworker and I stopped by after some locals recommended it, and we're so glad we did. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by Michelle, who was super friendly and helpful. She took the time to ask us a few questions about how hungry we were and whether we were dining in before making some great food recommendations. When our food arrived, we were blown away by the huge portions and the variety of dipping sauces that came with our entrées. I ordered the chicken and rib combo with steak fries, beans, and garlic bread, and everything was delicious! The chicken was definitely my favorite, and the garlic bread was spot-on. My coworker got the Rebel Cheese Fries, and you really can't go wrong with those--they were so good and definitely big enough for us to share. We also got a chance to chat with Angel, who I believe was the pit-master/cook. He was really friendly and asked if we were visiting. We mentioned we were in town for a short stay, and after eating here, we could see why this place came so highly recommended! The prices are pretty accurate for what you get--definitely worth it for the quality and portion sizes. If you're driving through or staying in Blythe for the night, this place is a must-try. Was passing through Blythe on a trip to Arizona and found Rebel highly rated on Yelp. We were excited to try a local barbecue spot and this was a great option for take-out/a quick meal. It was pretty busy inside the Sunday we went. You order at a counter and they do have dining available inside. The staff working at the counter was really friendly. They have parking available right outside the restaurant. It's easily accessible from the freeway. I opted for the BLT - C and my husband ordered the Cuban. Both were delicious but I wish we had ordered extra barbecue sauce. My BLT - C was a bit dry. You have to pay for extra sauce but I think it would've been worth it. My husband also really enjoyed the jalapeño potato salad (sides also cost extra money and are not included). Overall, great spot. The bathroom was in need of some help the day I went. There was no soap and despite having a toilet paper holder, it wasn't in use. Toilet paper was situated on the back of the toilet seat. A staff working there literally exited the bathroom as I was entering. It was surprising they didn't try to stock supplies having just been in there. read more

Good bbq at this little place in Blythe. Driving home to SoCal from Arizona is a 6 hour proposition. Aside from a few gas stations along the way, there's not much to do but watch the desert landscape. A golf friend and myself were doing this recently and decided to have dinner in Blythe. There's plenty of the regular fast food places but we wanted something better. We chose Rebel BBQ. At first look, I wasn't sure if we chose correctly. We each ordered a dinner, his with ribs and mine a multi meat dinner. The ribs were tender, juicy and fall-off-the-bone good. My Mac and cheese side had a nice spicy kick to it that went well with their spicy bbq sauce I was pleasantly surprised by the generous portion that I received and so leftovers will be enjoyed tonight by both of us. This place was busy with locals doing takeout but for weary travelers, dining in is a relaxing experience; and cool when it's 104 outside. We made a great choice in stopping here and would do it again if we're driving that road. read more

Our group of 9 and a dog stopped by Rebel BBQ for a bite to eat on our return from AZ. Apologies for no pics, but we were hungry, with a dog, sitting outside in 109 degree heat. Although you order at the counter and wait at your table, the servers were attentive, friendly, and responsive. Our group enjoyed the tri tip, brisket, pulled chicken, Mac n cheese, baked beans and steak fries. The food was very good, meats were smoked, flavorful and tender, the garlic bread was perfectly warm and soft, and seasoning on the steak fries was awesome (my mom's favorite). In Miami a Cubano is a marvelous pressed sandwich, a classy affair with exquisite taste. Here, the Cuban sandwich is a meaty mess, served overflowing out of a hoagie. Was a five star for me back in the day. I would tell people to make time to stop here. What happened? Bun was stale on my brisket sandwich (on a Saturday). Meat was mediocre. Not terrible, just not special or standout. Needed too much barbecue sauce to establish flavor. Flavor that used to be so deep. The Brisket sandwich I ate at QT the other week out of desperation was more satisfying than this. I was so hungry. And to be clear, I ate the whole thing. The sandwich wasn't gross. And I would still prefer Rebel over the other food choices in Blythe. But it was just okay. I hate leaving this review. Blythe is the obligatory stop on the way from CA to AZ and I was happy that McDonald's had some competition! Rebel BBQ is in a food oasis, flanked by McDonald's, Jack in the Box, La Paloma, among others. Rebel bbq is very popular but the line moves quickly. I had 1/2 lb of brisket and my wife had the smoked grilled veggie sandwich and we split sweet potato fries. The brisket was a big miss. I'm not actually sure it's smoked -- it was a uniform grey, no smoke ring, and chewy. Frankly, I may be spoiled by great bbq in Orange County (Heritage BBQ!), but at $15 for a half pound, I was unimpressed. I just drenched it with bbq sauce and moved on. My wife's sandwich was great. Not very big, but it smelled sooo good, reminiscent of fajitas or. Philly cheesesteak restaurant. My wife ate it all and gave it a thumbs up. The sweet potato fires were good too. These waffle fries were smoky and sweet and I believe they they're salted with salt, brown sugar, and paprika(?). Either way, they were tasty. Service was friendly and food came out quickly. The interior is simple but clean. I was grateful they had one bathroom, but it had a line. Our total was $40 for two -- not bad for a bbq, but if you're looking for smoky, tender brisket, I suggest you move on. Maybe the pork sandwiches are better. Look, it's Blythe. Blythe, home to the worst Del Taco and Jack in the Box I've ever been to. I kept my expectations low. Especially for a little box of a place that you could blink and miss next to McDonald's. The good: fast, very polite service. Super clean floors inside. Outdoor seating with clean tables. A kids' menu and vegetarian options (at a BBQ place!) Food is mostly made out of real ingredients. The bad: they seem to have one idea of "seasoning" and it's "spicy." No layering of flavors going on here, nothing subtle. Just spicy, no flavor. (And I like spicy when it's in service of flavor! But not when it's so one-note.) Fries have lots of salt and pepper, but are kind of greasy. The bread used for sandwiches is kind of low quality, especially the pita. Adding a few different layers of flavor (maybe some cumin on the chicken, how about some hummus on the vegetarian sandwich?) would help. Ambiance is non existent unless "closed dive bar's kitchen" is an ambiance. The meh: prices are mid-range, decent portions for the price but not exactly the quality I would expect. Single user bathroom means you may wait if you need to go. Is it a better choice than fast food if you have to eat in Blythe? Depends on your priorities. It's clean, it's edible, it was served fast, at the right temperature, with a polite smile. 3.5 stars. read more

Culinarily the high point of our visit to Quartzsite/Ehrenberg/Blythe. Pricey but not unfairly so for such a generously portioned, high-quality lunch. My Total Pig platter was savory indeed, with thick-cut firm bacon and nicely smoked ham and pork. I added their "R sauce" at the table for the finishing touch. DW's Pretty and Pink satisfied her greatly, and was big enough to take half home. I finished the other half the next day, and I was impressed at how great their pastrami worked as a BBQ meat (never tried that before). We had our old fur-girl with us on this trip, so we all ate on the patio in 110° heat, but there was plenty of shade, a nice breeze, and the staff was great about our taking a cup of ice out from time to time to keep her comfortable. (She had no complaints about the meat crumbs, either!) We've eaten at both the Blythe and Havasu outlets, and this one is by far the better of the two. read more

Rebel-icious! My family was hungry after being on the road all day. Service was quick, friendly and efficient. I had the Ortega Tri tip sandwich. Very tasty but messy. Make sure to grab some extra napkins. My wife's pastrami sandwich featured thick chunks of smoked peppered meat. Pour some of their BBQ sauce over it. My kids devoured their food before I could snap photos. The fries were okay. The onion rings were solid. The au jus for one of the sandwiches was weak and had a trace of beef bouillon flavoring. We took our dinner to go to enjoy at the hotel. Inside was air conditioned with a clean bathroom. We were welcomed upon entering and wished well at our exit. I appreciate the hospitality! I tried coming here once before, but they were unfortunately closed due to a fire. Finally had a second chance to try Rebel Bbq again. Everything was tender, flavorful and delicious. Bbq sauce is served on the side, however you really didn't need it. We ordered two meat platter feast one with pastrami and the other brisket. Also ordered a tri-tip sandwich. Out of all the meats, the pastrami and the tri-tip were my favorite. We received excellent service and the orders were all correct.
