The Rebel Draft House is a great place to go and have a beer. They have an outstanding selection of draft beers and it is very comfortable. I had a Hefeweizen called White. It was excellent and I was so glad they had such a range on tap. All the tables and particularly the bathroom show signs of a lot of wear, but that is kind of what you would expect from a college bar like this. Definitely worth a visit! read more

I would think that a place like this would thrive on craft beer, but apparently they don't. Anyway, its a good sized bar and the prices were decent. This place seems like you're run of the mill Northgate Stop. Nothing crazy special. Pros: + Large selection of beer (just not tap) + Lots of parking spots - although you do have to fight your way to get to one. Cons: -TV always plays football... Just college football. Could we get some other sports here too? - Lack of food - Not great choice in terms of craft beer on tap - No menu - instead of a menu, they have beer bottles placed up against a wall. It drove me nuts that I couldn't read half the beers since the bottles are so tiny. Apparently my eyes aren't young enough for this place. read more

This place brings back such good memories! I love their happy hour they have have a great selection of beer and liquor and their bartenders make the coolest drinks. You can tell them what you're in the mood for and they'll make the perfect drink and some of them even make their own special drinks/shots. This place is one of the best best bars on northgate, I just wouldn't suggest going to it on Thurs-Sat night if you're not prepared to deal with a crowd. read more

There were 5 people in our group. We all ordered drinks. The bartender asked my boyfriend and me for our IDs... our 3 other friends didn't have to show anything. Oh, and our 3 other friends are white while my boyfriend and I are Asian. What's the point of checking our IDs at the door if we're going to get asked for our IDs again at the bar? "Randomly" This place is trashy anyway. Within a span of 15 minutes, 3 glasses were smashed on the ground, all by different patrons. No one cleaned it. read more

That's because all you put on tap is flavorless mainstream names that they don't know they shouldn't like. Gah!!! While in town visiting my brother, we decided to go bar-hopping on Thanksgiving night. He took me to a few of his favorite haunts, but, as you could assume, most places were pretty dead that evening and I wasn't feeling the concepts much anyway. We passed by Rebel, and there was a small handful of people chilling on a cozy-looking wrap-around patio. It looked like my kind of place, so I figured it was worth a stop. I'm glad we did - I don't think I've ever gotten such a good deal on beer on a Thursday night. Since it was Thanksgiving, they had extended their happy hour to close, offering a decent bottled and draft beer selection, all at half-off. I'm not huge on Texas country, which is what they had playing in the background, but since the music wasn't too loud or overpowering I didn't mind at all. It's definitely better than the annoying, overplayed pop/Top 40 hits or obnoxiously blatant redneck country music you find at most other bars. The staff was also great; they were all incredibly friendly and genuine. To me, that's one of the things that really provides the foundation for a great bar and makes me, personally, more inclined to return. A couple of the staff members even remembered me when I dropped by with a friend the next evening. As I said, I went on a really chill night that may not be representative of how Rebel is normally, so I can't really say much else in regard to the atmosphere. It's definitely a place I will visit again the next time I'm in town, though, and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to grab some drinks while they watch a game or hang out. read more

Was visiting Aggieland for an evening football game, and discovered Rebel Draft House. Compared to many other bars on Nortgate, this is nicer in many respects. The Pros: They have some good craft beers here. They also had decent wine for a college bar, although not a big selection. Draft beer poured in large, cold beer glasses. Nice, good-looking crowd. Televisions with college football showing. It seemed pretty clean compared to other bars, and did NOT smell like old, stale beer. Thank you! Cons: No food? no servers. You have to order and pay at bar, but bartenders were great. No wifi and cell service was pretty bad being a football game day. Recommended! read more

Not sure about nights, but before the sun sets this is the best bar in Northgate. The bartenders know what they're doing, they have a very nice beer selection and the happy hour is amazing! If you're only out to get plastered I'm sure some other bars will do you fine, but if you want to have a good drink and a nice time go to Rebels. read more

Lots of taps, but full of shity beer. Half of the 64 taps are brewed by the big three. And if I hear one more country song I'm going to die of throat cancer. This place has some sentimental value to me for personal reasons. However, it does not make up for the lack of good beers and atmosphere. This place is designed specifically for college students. The tables are pushed so far to the corners, because the immediate periphery of the bar is too crowded with inebriated 22 year olds. And don't get me wrong, I'm still relatively young, and I was also a frat boy and love to party, but if I wanted to be in a frat house atmosphere again, I'd rather go back to my alma mater than subject myself to the drunk kids continually barking and bumping into me while I choke down mediocre beer. read more

Their beers were warm, and the staff was rude. The bartender sold me a tall beer announced at last call at 1:57 and then I was told I had to chug it or leave by 2:05.
