There were professional bags, there were everyday big slouch bags, there were bags with floral print. It was the summer sandals that actually got me in here, there was a couple of pairs that I thought were groovy but they were not on sale, they were approx $100. I also noticed quite nice jewellry and a couple of well priced bikinis - $30, which is really cheap for a bikinni they are more like $100. The staff were really friendly and informed me that Aldo is Canadian and is a massive chain in the U.S - it's only just becoming here. Well now I know.

I have noticed that the same store in other locations will have the same jumper (sweater) but will not have the same discounted price. I went to one shop elsewhere where they advertised some clothing as new arrivals...but this store said it was last seasons stock. They have a fast turn over and are ready to get last seasons stock out the front with at least 40% off. Great place to visit if you are travelling overseas where it is cold at the moment.

The shoes are stocked on their shelves in an organised way and it is relatively easy to find a size once you've chosen the model you want. Fitness First members get an additional 20% off already reduced prices. My husband and I were able to get fairly new models of running shoes for $64 each, which is actually cheaper than US prices. The shoes I bought are listed at DSW for US $79.95. The staff are friendly and helpful, one of the sales assistants was very obliging in helping us find the size for the shoes we wanted because we couldn't find one on the shelves. In fact, they come up to you when they see you looking at shoes and let you know that if you can't find your size on the shelf, they'll check if they have it in their stockroom. I know it's their job but I've found the staff at other outlet stores to be unhelpful or grumpy, so for me it's a plus that they have good sales assistants.

I wouldn't of gone in if it weren't for my wife's curiosity. But once we were inside, it wasn't too much out of my interest. Funkis has a noticeably Scandinavian influence in their clothing range, shoes (more like clogs), eyeglasses, jewellery, organic shaped tableware and supplying a brand like Marimekko (I know about this brand because we received their funky kitchenware as wedding presents). The store was sparse, filled with light and the homewares colour coded against the wall. That got my wife's attention as she loves colourful, well designed homewares. Everything was reasonably priced too. There also was a dinner table set out early with christmas decor and another table with nice organic jewellery pieces on it. There was even a little patio out the back where you can sit and try on shoes (as the friendly sales assistant suggests) as well as a bookshelf near the doorway with a range of wallpaper which had cool designs.
