I booked online about an hour before arriving and the booking had gone through and we were treated really well and got lots of useful information and help from the reception. The dining room/breakfast room pays homage to the city's local hero, Enzo Ferrari, which is a nice touch. Recommend this place highly also for the fact that it is only about a 10-15 minute stroll to the Duomo/cathedral.

Fast forward 2 months and I am 7 weeks pregnant, sick with the flu (fever/vomiting), and barely able to get to the place (train+taxi) let alone enjoy it. We arrived and let the staff know that only my husband would join for the dinner and that I wasn't feeling well and didn't want to get others sick. Obviously the pregnancy and illness aren't their fault and the terms of the sale indicated it was non-refundable. However, at fine dining establishments in the US they've often had a clause for illness or other reasons to adjust the reservation - I consider this to be a part of great customer service. Considering we paid nearly 2,000 euros for this experience, I was surprised they wouldn't even refund my wine pairing (170 euros) as even if I wasn't sick, I wouldn't have been able to partake in it due to pregnancy. They gave us a credit for future use that expires in one year, which is comical since I will still be pregnant or with a newborn for that full year. Obviously they know how to cook here, but the customer service made what was already a tough day (missing my dream foodie experience and being bed-ridden on a beautiful estate) even more frustrating.

There is an Old world charm as they still have keys and ask that you leave them at the front desk when you leave the hotel. At the bottom of the steps in the lobby area, there is a Moderna's famous tribute with a picture of Pavarotti and Ferrari display. Breakfast is available and from what we saw it looked comprehensive as well they had a small bar area. They don't have a Fitness room. Our 3rd floor Double Twin room had a safe with outlets next to the beds. Opening windows were a nice touch. Staff was really helpful with suggestions for restaurants and tips overall. What we liked the most was the location and that's what you're paying for here. Amazing restaurant/cafe/Bar (UVA d"Oro, Paticerria remondini & Birrlandina) around the corner and 15 minutes walk to the Ferrari museum. Extra star for the service.

I sent all this info to the hotel along with the photos and they REFUSED to return my deposit for the first night stay. I was in contact with them multiple times and was still refused. I could understand if this was a cancellation that was unwarranted but how the hell am I suppose to travel from the United States to Italy without a passport? I had NO CONTROL over the passport agency's that were working with a very reduced staff and ONLY doing emergency passports (mostly death situations Ironically I got a notice my passport was shipping back to me the day AFTER I was to leave for Italy. It just baffles me that when you explain a situation or problem...they (reception) explains why it is instead of fixing the problem. This is pretty common in Italy but since this is a "4-star" hotel you'd think they would rise above these issues. Rooms are small. The only reason why I didn't give it a one star is that the breakfasts are good. Roberto (Brazilian) and Flo (Romanian) are your go-to people. Everyone else is useless...
