I love this place. I've been a few times now. And it is a fabulous little neighborhood. Restaurant with quirks from the 80s and a fusion Asian menu. They have a daily happy hour and a beautiful bar. I love the mermaids looking down over the bar area. The seating is cozy with booths that are intimate. I highly recommend this place for a date night. They have great cocktails and shareable dishes. Amazing spot if you're ever craving any noodle dish. Everyone was super friendly and energized and the service was great from start to finish. Cute vibes to go with friends or even for a date. First and foremost the vibe of the place is great! On a cold night this cozy place is the place to be! It's a modern, warm and inviting feel with forest like warm colors.. The food is Vietnamese themed and what Vietnamese in my opinion do very well is give you food that is light refreshing with dimensions of flavors. We started off with a lettuce wrap dish with their amazing sauce. I cannot see that small plate item named o. Their website menu and cannot remember it but I have a picture attached and it's the best thing ever but you have to eat it with the crunch wrapped into the leaves and dipped in the sauce. This place is so slept on! The quality is always top notch, service is great, ambience is just right - super cute interior as well! Their Happy Hour is always so conveniently timed for us, so we come here often (all day Mondays, and also during select times every other day of the week)! I usually get the Turmeric Rockfish (delicious and unique), and when I don't have time for a full meal, I've grown fond of just picking a couple happy hour snacks. My husband and friend ordered the Vietnamese drunken wings - I had a bite, but I didn't find them interesting, though the two of them liked the wings. For the entree, my friend and I both ordered the reckless fried rice. It was good but not over-the-top phenomenal, just good. I liked the soft boiled egg on top and the little peppers. My husband ordered one of the vermicelli dishes but was disappointed it was a cold dish (it might help if their menu clarified if it's cold or hot, so patrons aren't surprised). Overall the ambience was nice and prices were reasonable - we were also able to park right outside which is always a bonus. They had vietnamese dishes and also Thai dishes. I was chating with the host at the end and he said the cook is well versed in both types of dishes and spent time im Cambodia. Genrous amount of Papaya salad was served. The prawns roll had delicious dipping sauce that came with pickles. Bok choy had buttery and garlicky flavor. Grilled bo la lot was also very unique. Hand chopped ribeye steak, banh hoi, fresh herbs, pineapple, cucumber, peanut, scallion oil, toasted chili lime fish sauce. Yummy. I went on a weekday around 5:30 and there was NO ONE else there. The service was good and the food was good! I took mine home, and honestly I think it was better the next day. The greens had a chance to marinate and wilt a little, so the dish meshed more. At the restaurant I was slightly intimidated with the plate because there were huge leaves and big pieces of fish and I only had chopsticks. My boyfriend and I had such a great meal here! We came on a whim after having driven by several times. We got the wok blistered green beans which were awesome- cooked perfectly and so flavorful, the grilled beef in bagel leaves- so unique and probably my favorite bites of the meal, and the beef cheek noodles. Reckless Noodle is one of my new favorites for a casual yet fun sit down dinner! On a Friday night, it was fairly busy, but the service was great and timely. We started with the refreshing papaya salad and cocktails to start. The server warned us that portions were large, but we ordered two entrees anyway. I've been many times to Reckless's all day Monday Happy Hour and I love the lobster bao and the baby bok choy!! My favorites. They also have some great drink specials: wine, hot sake, certain cocktails for $8. Oh, and the shrimp chips are fun, too! The atmosphere is nice but also very comfortable in an everyone-is-welcome kind of way. The added some premixed drinks behind the bar that look like they're in slushie machines, but they're not slushy. My friend got loopy on something called Zombie, I took a sip and it tasted kind of like a long island iced tea, but a little better and less sugary. I stuck with my Aviations, yum. I do wish they'd change up the menu a bit, it stays the same always. Not get rid of my favorite items, of course, hah! But, add some specials to the mix or swap out some of the things or do some seasonal type food. read more

Normally, I'm not a chain restaurant guy. But this hardly qualifies as a chain restaurant. I guess their original location is in Seattle. But the food here slaps. I've been here three or four times. Sometimes we time in sometimes we overtake out. It's good for both. I definitely recommend dining in and perusing their cocktail menu. But it holds up this takeout. I'm not gonna recommend one thing. 80 probably around 3/4 of this menu and I've had no losers. The waiters are great. When you're dining in the vibes are cool. There are definitely places in the Denver Metro area that are more trendy or maybe more hipster friendly or maybe give you a little more local cred. But those should not be considered knocks against this place. If it loses, it only loses on a technicality, everything about the experience here is gonna be good. My only real talk about this place is that it's easier to get into than it should be. It's never as busy as it oughta be. read more

The menu here is intriguing. It's got a blend of complimentary Thai, Vietnamese, and Sichuan dishes that together form a siren song I cannot resist. However, I'm not sure the execution matches the menu appeal. The dishes we tried: Papaya salad - 7/10 Sauce ratio favors fish sauce over lime juice a little too much for my taste. Needs less salt and more brightness. Beef in betel leaves - 8/10 This is a great dish, marred only by the fact that the bundle of cilantro on my plate was half rotten and slimy. If you're serving a plate with a ton of fresh herbs, better do some QC and make sure they're actually fresh. Rock fish in coconut - 6/10 A dish where many of the components are great, but they don't seem to mesh well. The one component that was lacking on its own was the fried rock fish, sadly. It was a overcooked and fishy. Mala noodles with beef - 5/10 For a dish with mala in the title, there was little to no noticeable numbing effect, despite the presence of whole peppercorns that deliver an unpleasant crunchy/gritty texture. The peppercorns should be ground or blended and added earlier in the cooking process to get rid of the textural problem. The dish also has no balance, it's all rich umami and sorely needs more preserved greens and/or a splash of vinegar to bring some acidity to the equation. The beef, noodles, and thickened sauce are done well, but can't make up for the lack of mala and balance. read more

Why didn't i come to this restaurant sooner? I mean really!! I had heard about this place a good handful of times before today and had always wanted to try it. That day finally came. Glad! I like the location. It's not quite downtown. And it's not quite Cherry Creek either. Parking can throw you a bit of a challenge and yet you can manage. It's quite spacious inside. The ambience matches the kind of dishes they serve: Asian fusion with some small plates and family size dishes (mainly fried rice and noodles) to share. What I suggest though is, definitely go here during the Happy Hour. HH menu is not massive but each plate is well portioned. Here are what we ordered (from the HH menu) -Papaya Salad: Totally and absolutely get it! It's got some kick in it but it's manageable even for someone with very limited tolerance to spicy foods like me. Lightly dressed with some tangy dressing with a bit of sweetness. The papaya is cut like noodles. Tastes so healthy. Great dish to start your meal. -Baby Bok Choy: A staple item in Asian cuisine. This one, too, has got some kick in it. Not mushy but not too crunchy either. Perfectly cooked with good seasonings. -Lobster Rangoon Bao: I can easily eat at least a few of these (we shared one.) To be frank, I didn't even need the accompanying sweet and sour sauce. You can eat it as is. The lobster cream inside almost tasted like a sweet paste/cream. Here is what we ordered from the regular menu: -Field Green Fried Rice with Goji Berries I've never had fried rice that had goji berries mixed in it so I found this quite unique. The way I consume goji berries is to put it in my overnight oats. I had no clue that goji berries can be ingredients in a fried rice until today (I guess I was today years old!) This opened up my eyes for creativity. Thanks for the idea, Reckless Noodles! I appreciated our efficient waitress (we didn't get her name. On the receipt, it says "your server was Reckless Server". LOL! She was recklessly walking around the floor handling more than several different table. Like I said, she was recklessly efficient! Let's not forget. He had an IPA (draft) which I got to sip a little bit (HH price so it was $7.) Although the beer selection (tap) is not massive, they do have some quality ones on draft. We really enjoyed our visit to Reckless Noodle House. The drink menu is probably twice the size of the food menu and there were great options on both. The space is small and although we put in a reservation it was not available so we grabbed seats at the bar. It wasn't too loud in the space and an enjoyable dining experience. The food - Shrimp Chips were a great starter at a low price, and reminded me of the ones I've had in Hawaii. The Duck Udon noodles are a no brainer! This has one of the BEST broths I've ever had - salty and sweet and warm. The lobster rice was unfortunately very disappointing - it was dry with very little lobster added. I'll definitely be back and will recommend this space to others read more

Really liked Reckless noodle! What was so surprising was the huge carafe of sake!! I feel like you normally get 3 maybe four glasses if you're splitting it and this was probably 6-8 each. They make their own ginger beer so it wasn't as sweet as some mules (which I liked). Food in order of how much we liked it: - spicy wontons - Vietnamese wings (sweet) - lobster fried rice (some good chunks of lobster in there) - vermicelli bun bowl (was good but pork belly soft rather than crispy, next time would swap the protein for prawns instead - duck eggrolls (didn't have as much flavor as we were expecting?) next time would swap this out for the papaya salad. Overall we had a great time, service was good, liked the laid back vibe. We are both Asian so while we liked it, it was definitely fusion/geared towards non-Asians, and would go other places for authentic south East Asian food ;) but still worth a try. I see cha ca La Vong on online menu, I go to restaurant. It's that simple. Now, I can tell from Reckless' marketing and general feel that it is going to be fusion, not a dedicated replica of the famous dish, and it is. I don't mind fusion if it adds something new and interesting, or marries a couple of different things that aren't usually married (thus adding something new and interesting, in a way). In this case, what it adds, mainly, is too much coconut cream, and what it loses is the wok-seared dry crunch on the outside of the fish. But it does maintain the dill-heavy, mint-herby overtone, and their fish sauce is respectably funky. Happy hour makes a bowl of Sichuan spiced peanuts a no-brainer for $3. read more

Really cute restaurant, the interior is tastefully decorated. The servers and host were very friendly. For me, the food was only okay. I tried the crispy duck rolls, the mini bok choy, and the beef cheek noodles. Nothing was a particular standout in my mind, but nothing was bad either. I will say that the beef cheek was very tender but then I was not a big fan of the thick chewy noodles or sauce served with them that much. My dining companion and I both thought it would have tasted better with a thin rice vermicelli noodle. Ordered to go and the food was still delicious! I got the Ma La Braised Beef Cheek Noodle and Papaya Salad (mild). The beef was super tender and just melted in your mouth! I can see why this dish is a must try. The noodles were perfect and not overly soft or chewy. I did think that it needed some veggies in the dish but ordering the papaya salad on the side worked out! It was my favorite and I'm glad I got it! Be careful if you can't handle spices very well. This dish is spicy, even ordering it 'mild'. The food, the service, the ambiance. It was FANTASTIC. I ordered the aviation cocktail and I messed up. The amazing bartender told me it was perfumy and I didn't listen. It was good, but not for me. HOWEVER, everything else was amazing and honestly it is in my top 5 places of all time! The kicker was Monday is all day happy hour. We didn't know this but gladly ordered almost everything on the HH menu! Duck crispy rolls, steamed spicy wontons, lobster bao, crispy pork fresh roll, wok fried green beans, everything was so so so yummy. First time reviewer bc it needs to be done. For the place being empty we waited quite a while to be sat, and the first thing the waiter said while greeting us was "where the f*** are you guys going?" We were dressed to go out on a Saturday but nothing crazy. Once we were sat we had to wait a while for a menu which on a busy night made sense, but it wasn't busy at all. 2/3 meals were okay, not great but not bad. One of them was bad enough that the bowl was completely full still when we left- the vermicelli bowl is extremely oily and we would advise you don't get their chicken, had no flavor. This all would have landed them in the "fine" realm of a review- except this next part made us furious. We were done and waiting for a check maybe 15 min, again, very slow night but only 2 people running tables so understandable. Until Mr. Where the F are you Going walked up to the table and said "you guys have needy face" Shout out to the female running the show Saturday night who immediately took over because what the actual heck kind of service was that. Came to see what the hype was about. Bonus it's restaurant week so I have to try their 3 course RW menu. I started with the duck egg roll situation for the first course. It was delicious and flavorful and their homemade red sauce it's ADDICTING! Second course was the beef cheek noodle dish. WoW! Idk what they coated the noods in but lord have mercy! It never stood a chance lol beef cheek was so tender and flavorful! Thursday course did their homemade coconut ice cream that was amazingly delicious and refreshing with 2 poke sticks. A gem in this area! The parking is hard and the area is sketchy but I would recommend this place to anyone. Made a reservation and got seated right away.
