When we told him we did not know that and were really in the mood for a piece of cake, he said "you should have done some research before leaving the house" We left the place but the owner relented and came after us. He gave us a table in the back and it turned out the restaurant was almost deserted. I had a macarone with chocolate mouse and raspberries, and my companion had the sachertorte. Both were good. Summing up: 3-4 stars for the food but only 1 star for customer service. On average a "meh" experience.

As I sat on the patio, I tried the Belgium waffle and I am pretty sure it was the best I had in Belgium. It was so crisp and so light. I also had the "kiwi one" (I didn't know what to call it, I think it is just called a biscuit) and it ended up being tongue melting. I sat there slowly eating each bite just to make it last longer. Dessert are made in-house which tends to be more and more rare. I had a few lovely chats with the vibrant owner and this spot ended up being one of my favorite stops in Antwerp and Belgium. Dit is goed voor één keer! Het is al niet makkelijk als alleenstaande mama!! Zeer mooie inrichting en lekkere gerechtjes. Daar kan ik niets over zeggen. Maar the whole experience... wat een grote teleurstelling!! Je moet ooo achter alles zelf gaan. In de mail aangegeven dat dochter jarig was. Bij het binnenkomen nog eens. Geen enkele keer werd erop ingegaan. Zelf nog gaan vragen of een vuurstokje mogelijk is. Ja... hallo? Wie denkt er nu in de verste verte dat dit betalend is?! FOEI!!! Verder een dode platgetrapte hoornaar langs ons tafel... Lekker. Het werd opgeveegd toen mijn dochtertje dit vroeg. De bediening na een kwartier zelf erop moeten attent maken dat we graag al een drankje hadden gehad nadat ze ons tafeltje zeker al 5x voorbij liepen zonder ons te bekijken. Er werd enkel aandacht geschonken aan de tafels met een groot gezelschap. De tafels waarvan de mensen weg waren, bleven onafgeruimd. Niet zo smakelijk om tegenaan te kijken. Ik laat hier zeker mijn slaap niet voor, maar het is zijn dure prijs zeker niet waard. De beleving wordt volledig tenietgedaan door onprofessionaliteit. De bediening is kil en steriel. Dergelijke prijzen kan je enkel rechtvaardigen als het plaatje klopt. Als de kwaliteit EN de bediening EN de netheid EN de klantvriendelijkheid spot on zijn. Dit is veel te duur voor wat het is. Ik vermoed dan ook dat dit niet lang meer zal blijven duren. Als mensen 1 maal de ervaring gehad hebben... hier kom je niet terug voor een tweede high tea lijkt me... Kies een gezellige, charmante zaak, met personeel met een hart voor de klanten aan de helft of 2/3 van prijs. Klein voorbeeld: "Erna gingen we een drankje doen in 't stad en dochter droeg een diadeempje met "Birthday girl" op. Wij waren totaal verrast toen de dienster bij mijn dochter haar plat watertje een schaaltje met twee Mariakoekjes en twee Oreo koekjes neerzette. Hoe lief, opmerkzaam en attent was dit!! Dit verwarmde ons hart. Awel, hier komen we terug! In dit zaakje in 't stad! De jongedame kreeg een leuke fooi van ons en volgende keer gaan we er lekker iets eten!! En Pink Velvet... daar lopen we aan voorbij! Been there, done that!

They have the option of white/wit (25%), milk/melk (35%), medium/bruin (55%) or dark/zwart (72%) chocolate. I personally went with the quetzal, which is essentially a mix of all 4 different flavors mixed into one drink. They give a generous portion of melted chocolate into each cup mixed with milk and it tastes amazing. The chocolate flavor is very rich. It will satisfy your sweet tooth. Also, each dessert you order also comes with melted chocolate for you to use. You can again choose one of the flavors. I prefer Quetzal and the way they make chocolate drinks because they actually use melted chocolates and have different types so it's a really rich and personalized experience.
