A small handful of themed rooms spread over a few floors, the decor is absolutely on point, even down to the life size model cow in the reception. The owners are cheerful and welcoming, and everything is well equipped, coffee, tea, hair dryers, and unusually for a lot of hotels and b&bs, a good size mirror! There's space to hang your things, and the beds are excellently comfortable, got a great nights sleep. Also, with how well known blackpool is for it's cougars and dodgy hen and stag parties etc etc, this place wasn't rowdy, we didn't wake up to piles of puke in the corridor, whatever. Whether it doesn't particularly attract the rabble, or the guys have a good way of controlling it, i'm not sure, but after our night, I'd be surprised if you were disturbed. Decent location, a short walk from the front and the tower. The breakfast room is like a jungle, you probably will end up sharing a table with others, which is fine by me, but I know it bothers some. Greeted with huge pots of tea, the smell of fresh coffee and excellent excellent breakfasts. I will warn you though, be careful about where you park your car! You don't want to fail to pay by accident!

I arrived in Blackpool before the rest of the hens, so owners April and Mark (and Fifi the dog) were happy to let me hang out in their bar area and kept me company as I waited for the troops to come bounding in, excited about what the weekend had in store (mainly male strippers, drag acts and a hell of a lot of booze). Once all the hens had arrived, April ran through a list of health and safety dos and don'ts with us - all part of creating a safer environment, which I thought was a good idea, considering we'd all be getting pretty damn wasted later on. There is CCTV in all communal areas of the property, which is also reassuring. There are 14 rooms, each with an en-suite bathroom, TV, tea and coffee facilities and up to five beds. I shared a room with four other girls and although it was a bit of a squeeze, it provided a comfortable base for getting ready, napping between bars and passing out in the small hours. I managed to sleep well, thanks to earplugs and an eye mask, however, one of the girls said they woke up around 4am when she heard people arguing on the street outside. When she looked out of the window, she saw a man with his pants down! Well, this IS Blackpool...! Breakfast is served in a cute back room, where you're welcome to eat in your pyjamas. Everyone's in the same boat so it's full English breakfasts all round, accompanied by strong coffees and fresh orange juice for a much-needed vitamin C boost. If I dare to go back to Blackpool (I'm still suffering today), I'll definitely stay at the Hayward again. It's super-close to Blackpool North train station and just a stone's throw from the town centre and seafront. And with over 30 places to eat within a half mile radius, you really can't ask for much more.

Large room above the pub, very posh furnishing, gargantuan bathroom with all mod cons and elegant Victorian-style fittings. Internet, so I could sit and work down in the pub in front of the coal fire with my pint. Gorgeous scenery with a creek running right by the building. I'm serious: I almost didn't want to write this review because I don't want anyone else to go there, but I also want the business to know how wonderful they are!

It sits in Ribble Valley and still holds much of the original foundation. There are frequent events, such as themed teas and dinners, workshops, Christmas festivities, and wedding showcases. There is plenty of parking and a lot of space for weddings, large events, conferences, etc. We came here for a Saturday night dinner with friends. There was a wedding going on which seemed to take up much of the foyer and bar area, but luckily we came right after they moved into the large event space joining the bar. I'm not sure why wedding guests are mixed with the general public bar/dining areas - that seems to be a flaw here. Dinner was very much ~okay~, but I was kind of expecting a lot more given how luxurious and historical this venue is. The service was very slow and inattentive. Food was average. A few staff were hard at work while others just stood there chatting. When we were given dessert wine instead of port, we were told we were wrong and had to essentially convince the server to switch our incorrect drinks out - which should never happen at a nice restaurant. I give this venue a good rating due to the ambiance, but I certainly would recommend vast improvement in service.

The rooms are generously sized with good facilities, nice decor and comfortable beds. But... What on earth has happened to the lighting? The newly-refurbished rooms are SO dark. There is only one ceiling light in the entire room, which is in the entrance area adjacent to the bathroom. The rest of the lighting comes from 2 wall lights, one standard lamp, and a desk light. Neither the desk light or standard lamp are switchable from the bed. So, you have to go around the room and switch all the lights off before going to bed. Not ideal in a quality hotel. That niggle aside, the stay was fine. Good breakfast, good wifi, easy car parking and friendly staff. Would I go back? Yes... But I'd take a torch. :-)

We enjoyed a clean and comfy room with lovely touches like treats and milk for tea in an insulated carafe. I really appreciated the bath salts after our two hour hike! Downstairs is an attractive pub with friendly and accomodating hosts, kick-ass brekkies...and fresh coffee available on demand throughout the day. Two downsides for me were the very early trash pick up (loud clattering of bottles around 7 am) and the distant parking, which we knew beforehand, but hey, I guess it's okay since we were in the Lakes to do some walking anyway. As it's right in the center of a charming village, you have to appreciate the lack of car parks. Also notable is the bell ringing at nearby St. Mary's...loved hearing the quarter hours marked, but disliked counting down the days to our departure. Tempus fugit...so hurry to the Sun Inn.

They are very obliging and willing to do what they can to make your stay as nice as possible. The rooms are spotless and very comfortable. The food is excellent and i would definately recommend having your evening meal in the hotel, it was lovely and very moreish. There is not one complaint that i have about our stay in the Chesterfield and would recommend it to anyone. Maybe one.............. having to come home!!!! Just back from spending the September bank holiday weekend in The Chesterfield Pet Friendly Hotel…read morein Blackpool. On arrival we were too early, but still we were allowed to check in with a very warm welcome from Julie who runs the Hotel with her brother Steve. Julie also made us a pot of Coffee with biscuits to welcome us. Nice touch. The room we had was comfortable, clean, with a double bed, en suite, Kettle (tea and coffee) and a small flat screen Tv and wi-fi. Breakfast was excellent, the portions genorous and served with a smile. The Bar downstairs is cosy and a nice place to have a quiet drink if you don't like the hustle and bustle of Blackpool at night. The prices of the drink's were good too. Happy hour 8-9 at night. And we met other people using the Hotel who were very friendly for a good chat. In summing up i would say this is great accomodation, at a great price with very friendly and hard working owners who go out their way to ensure you have a nice stay whilst on holiday. I would highly recommend staying here to anyone; i know i would certainly try The Chesterfield before anywhere else if i was to return to Blackpool.
