    Mapo Tofu
    Adam C.

I decided to give this spot a try, since it was new. I got take out, and tried two different types of dishes here that I thought might be good. I'm a big fan of mapo tofu, and the one here is good. I found it to be enjoyable, with a good mix of Sichuan peppercorn numbing spice and flavor. I'd get that dish again. The Thai style tofu and broccoli chow fun was mediocre at best. It was really lacking in flavor, and the overall consistency didn't seem like this was stir fried or much sauce was used. The flat rice noodles were all basically still white. I would not recommend this dish at all. Looking at their menu, I think it's honestly way too extensive. Most food establishments that have massive menus like this really tend to suffer with some dishes. I think that holds true here. If you'd like to give this spot a try, I would recommend sticking with dishes that are popular. The price point is good, for the amount of food I got, but I'd recommend this restaurant slim down their menu and offer better quality for the options that remain.

    Large seating area with AC

I went here due to reviews 4.9 but the food was VERY disappointing. It's like a panda express food in a large restaurant seating with service at the table. The left overs (mainly duck) upset my stomach big time. Pricey $23 traditional Chinese entrée dish TEA duck that came out like it was recooked/reheated. Duck was way over cooked and dry and with lots of dried out bones but I can't tell since the entire dish looked burnt. From the image, anything behind was charred/overcooked. I ONLY had a limited time to eat so didn't have time to fuss over it. Eggplant lunch special was decent tasting. It came with hot/sour soup (was tasty) or egg drop. Served with 1 spring roll and fried rice (decent) or plain white rice. The special 2 for 1 are ONLY for regular entree not the luch special. Staff makes fresh dim sum in the front, but I didn't order it. Service was friendly and nice. Female staff listen, male staff didn't understand my request for red vinegar and never brought it out during my meal. Food feels like panda express not a restaurant. If you like lots of carbs with decent favoring like panda this works. However, if you want REAL Chinese food like Vally Sam woo (Duck) even take out or Gardenia (Seafood empress) Peking duck is better, this is not the place for duck.

Excellent food and grand opening in Riverside with spacious seating area and dumpling viewing window. Service is slower as I believe there was only 2-3 working at the time for 20+ tables. Otherwise, very friendly staff and great spot for a relaxed meal.

Delicious dishes! Beautiful look with great flavor!!

Delicious, great quality food! We ordered food to go but the restaurant was clean and welcoming. We ordered beef chow fun, teriyaki chicken, and braised pork belly in white pepper. It was all so flavorful and great portion sizes. I will definitely be back and am so excited to have a new go-to spot near home!

If you're in Riverside and looking for amazing Chinese food, that taste delicious and has great customer service look no further! The atmosphere is welcoming and huge so if you have a family party you have more than enough space to enjoy. Everything is made fresh to order and the authentic flavors are to die for! The lunch special is a steal and comes with an entrée, fried rice, egg roll, and soup if eaten there. So come give them a try!

Very tasty dishes. Some different selections. Service is awesome, ambiance is so standing out, be returning for sure!

The food was flavorful and satisfying. I liked the spicy Hunan-style dishes, especially the red chili oil dish, which was rich, spicy, and great with rice. The service was satisfactory, and the response was prompt. The environment is very nice and spacious.

Absolutely delicious in every respect. my new go too authentic chinese restaurant near UCR. Ordered hot chili oil fish, juicy dumpling, and the lunch green bean special. There are typical american style chinese dishes on the menu also. they also serve Pho and Ramen but I cannot speak to these vietnamese and japanese dishes. The menu is a bit big but hey if everything is as good as what I had today I am excited to try many more.

Service was extremely slow for it not being busy. They were a bit stingy on the lemon wedges and veggies. There were three of us and we ordered three bowls of Pho. We got one small plate of veggies and two lemon wedges. When we asked for more lemons, waiter looked over at our table to make sure we actually needed more lemons. When we asked for a sauce plate/cup, he looked bothered. Well next time just put little sauce plates on the table and we wouldn't have to ask you to get it. Like how do they not know people like to dip their meats in Siracha and Hoison sauce. Not everyone just pours it into the bowl. When we ordered our Pho, we also ordered a Banh Mi sandwich as a to go order. At the end of our meal, my wife went to pay and the check included the price with the sandwhich. She paid and asked how long the sandwich would take, they said, "what sandwich!" Uh, the one we just paid for. Cashier looked confused and asked to see the receipt. Then he went to the back and asked about the sandwich. We could hear someone in the back saying they didn't make a sandwich. Cashier apologized and we waited another 12 minutes for the sandwich. Pho was actually good but a bit on the pricey side. $20 for the Dac Biet. Next time we'll just go to Pho Ha down the street for better noodles at a cheaper price and they won't charge you for a sandwich that doesn't exist.

Parking situation may differ if you go in the middle of the day as it is in a plaza with a grocery store and other shops/restaurants. The restaurant is also on the smaller side in terms of seating so keep that in mind too if you go at a busier day/time. I ordered the beef noodle soup non-spicy. It's a very filling meal with good chunks of beef and a lot of noodles. I have a low spice tolerance, hence why I had to order it non-spicy, but I'm sure the spicy version is even better. Although the name of the shop is Cup Noodles, the noodles they use are definitely not as they are of better quality than you would get in an instant noodle cup. What stood out to me the most was how the egg in the noodle soup was cooked! It was fried and most of the yolk was cooked through expect for the very center which had a little pocket in the yolks that was a tiny bit runny. My friend also ordered a pepper fungus (woodear mushroom) for the table which was yummy and a good palette cleanser/flavor break while eating the noodles.

Anyway... After perusing through the menu, which had quite a few blacked out items (black tape applied over the menu item) we both decided on the Tonkatsu Spicy Black Ramen Noodles as well a the Crispy Fried Rice appetizer... the appetizer was delivered but I had to request some small individual plates so that we could eat off of our own plate, rather than reaching over trying to share the same plate and making a mess on the table... no worries, small oversight (or so I thought at the time)... Next came the Ramen... Looked very appetizing, but again I had to get up and request a couple of soup spoons... went to dig in, and while the bottom of the bowl was warm, the broth itself was quite cold... after calling over the waitress and asking them to please reheat (even if they had to use the microwave)... the waitress took it back to the "open" kitchen and they used the microwave to reheat... The bowls were returned and as we started to eat, satisfied that the broth was indeed hot, we noticed a couple of items missing: the corn - no corn in the broth like it was described... in addition to that, no Wood Eared Mushrooms were in the broth either... the wood eared mushrooms set the "black" apart from the standard ramen and cost $.50 more per serving... when questioned about it, the hostess informed us that they didn't have any mushrooms... as a consolation, she offered us one of the "extra price" toppings in place if it... we opted for the tofu... a bowl of tofu pieces came out and although they appeared to have steam coming off of it, the tofu was cold as well... smh... The hostess returned them to to kitchen to be reheated... We received a 10% discount ($4.90 of of a $49 bill)... Not sure if they're going to make it with this level of service and food quality... Good Luck!

Big Sky was my **go-to Chinese food spot in Riverside** for years. **Then tonight happened.** I placed a DoorDash pickup order at their new location -- sweet and sour pork, beef chow fun, beef porridge, pork and shrimp siu mai, and white rice. They even threw in extra rice, and I was genuinely excited to dig in. That excitement ended the moment I looked down at my bowl and found a **MAGGOT sitting on top of my rice.** I called the restaurant immediately and calmly explained what happened. They told me to contact DoorDash since that's how I ordered. Fine. I reported it through DoorDash's platform and waited. Then I got a call back from DoorDash -- not to help me, but to relay a message: **Big Sky had contacted them specifically to refuse my refund.** Let that sink in. A customer found a maggot in their food, couldn't eat a single bite of a $54.19 order, and the restaurant's response was to **actively call DoorDash to make sure I didn't get my money back.** I understand that occasionally bugs happen in food service. It's gross, but I was fully prepared to move on had they simply taken responsibility. Instead, they chose to fight a $54 refund over a maggot. That tells you everything you need to know about how this restaurant values its customers. **Eat here at your own risk -- and if something's wrong, you're on your own.**

Anyway, they replaced it for us but I overheard the waiter tell his manager that we ordered chow fun by accident. The manager then told us something about "our mistake" upon paying, placing blame on us . The manager was nice about it, but we repeatedly told the waiter chow mein and he kept correcting us to chow fun. Also, there is a section of the menu labeled chow mein and a separate page labeled chow fun. I think I know what we ordered. Disappointing.
