This place just needs maintenance. The restaurant is a Bar but the owner clearly has a set and done attitude. Minor investments in signage, matching plates, all metal utensils, better lighting And all working TV will take the indoor decor up a bit. The inside has to match the prices. The menu is a bit pricey, $30 crab broil; however, it was sooooo Fla good. Get the lemon pepper & garlic mix for the perfect dipping sauce. I tried the Cajun rice. It was good but it is buttery. I'm not convinced they have an experienced bar tender back there. My drink tasted like juice so I ordered an extra shot. Idk, it's like a quandary for me.

Stopped in for a quick lunch with my daughter and were greeted immediately and sat. There were only maybe about 4 more tables in the restaurant and it took our server about 10 mins to greet us and get our order. She never brought our drinks which were just water and tea. After she brought our food I had to ask for our drinks again, she then got an attitude. We opened our bags and one of the plates of seafood was still FROZEN!! We let our server know of which she snatched the plate, brought it back a couple minutes later to sling it on the table. She was very rude. When check came, she tried to overcharge for my platter of food. Also, cold plate was still on the bill. Feel like I should not need to request it to be removed when served frozen seafood. I believe in fairness and paid for both plates with no hesitation but think that she should have reconsidered this. Love the red crab but will def not go when Restine is there.

Arrived at 3:15 were promptly seated. We ordered appetizers consisting of jalapeño poppers, corn nuggets and hush puppies. We were a party of 4 thus ordered two orders of low cowboy boil. (Consisted of crab, shrimp, sausage, potato, and corn with sauce). One was ordered mild and one spicy. It was delicious!! Too much food. The server was attentive. The hostess was also nice. Nice atmosphere. Will return when back in Jax.

First time here and we were super hungry! We both ordered Royal lobster special that had lobster, crab and shrimp. Too bad we had to wait for over an hour to get our food. Our waitress appeared to be super busy and it was impossible to get her attention. When we finally were able to ask her, she said it's coming. After an hour we requested to speak to the manager. She was very apologetic and our food came out in 5. Everything was delicious, but an over an hour of wait was way too long. We got a 20% discount for the wait.

What you expect from a "juicy crab" type of place. My husband gets the seafood boil and LOVES it. There's plenty of seafood a day also comes with potato and corn. It is well seasoned and spiced appropriately. The hush puppies and corn nuggets are good, too. I love the Cole slaw, it's perfectly creamy, sweet, and vinegary. One of our favorite apps/sides is the pasta. It tastes just like the seafood boil, but over pasta. Everyone goes crazy over it. Their fried shrimp basket comes with a lot of shrimp over a big basket of fries. The servers are always very, very sweet. Most times they've been consistent and the food and drinks come promptly. The last time we went it took about 45 minutes to get our food, but that's not the norm. The only con I'd say is that they could clean the drink special card that is on the table. It's ALWAYS sticky and gross feeling.

Red Crab is definitely a hidden spot in Mandarin. I walked in and was greeted immediately, it was a Thursday night so it was not packed at all. The restaurant was clean and welcoming I ordered my usual when i come to places like this.. a pound of snow crab, extra potato, corn and in their sauce specific to the location. The boil bag came out quickly although there was not a lot of sauce in the bag it did have good flavor. The potato's were a little undercooked, i usually like them on the harder side but some of these were too hard and a couple were too soft .. the corn was cooked perfectly. The crablegs were good! I also ordered a Mai tai which was perfect! I will be visiting this location again to try a few more items off of the menu.

We came across this restaurant by accident last night but decided to check them out. What I loved the most about our visit was the customer service!!! Our server was very attentive, provided helpful information, made sure we had refills , and continued to check up on us during the time we were there. We never felt rush even after they were beginning to close up and my daughter had to go to the bathroom. I appreciate that the multiple TV's they had in the building the were also showing kid shows for the littles to help keep them entertained while waiting for the food to arrive. Check them out when you are in the area

Valentine's Day will never be the same. We finally went out on Valentine's Day. The actual day. I asked my wife to choose the letter L or the letter R. She chose R, so we headed to Red Crab in Mandarin. Can I say, seafood on fleek! Oysters check. Claims check. A cold beer check. And crab legs double-check. All with our favorite sauces, corn, and potato. A must do again. All I can do is keep linking my fingers. In the words of Colonel Sanders, Red Crab was finger looking good. For real!!!

When we want a good seafood boil we go here. They are super great. Good portions and taste always. They always have drink and food specials. Also the service is always great and the food usually comes out pretty quick. The place always looks clean.

Finally came in for a boil. Reading the mixed reviews on the boils I was ready to give it a go and check it out for myself. My first experience a few months back was ok but tonight made me a fan. I chose the daily special of snow crab legs, shrimp, sausage and potatoes with the juicy sauce hot level. This is one below their hottest and was perfect for me. Their juicy sauce is a mix of all their sauces all in one. Sooo good! I also added a pound of blue crabs as I wanted to try those too. My bag came out and the waitress put it all on the stainless steel platter. I was so excited I started digging in on the shrimp, sausage, and corn. I then went for the blue crab and noticed I didn't get any snow crab. I let the waitress know and she resolved the minor issue quickly. The snows didn't make it into my pic but they were huge. The blues were relatively small and while the bodies were good, the claws aren't worth the hassle at that size. I did what I could. It I did save them for last. Overall I was very satisfied as everything was prepared to perfection. Snows broke easy, shrimp was perfect, corn and potatoes were tasty. I'll be back - and soon.

What can I say? My experience here was not a good one. You may say, "Jay P, they just opened for business". Well, hear me out first. Between my order taken and made incorrectly... to receiving my order only to find out that it was missing side items and entrée items... to making a return trip drive back to this establishment... only to be charged more for the missing entrée item because order was taken incorrectly... to being overcharged for such missing Entree item, which I had to bring to management's attention to have corrected ...to having to wait again for the missing items to be made... and to only discover later that the missing items they cooked were still missing an item after it was all said and done. BIGGGG SIGH !!!! And the kicker here was, they were not busy at all. Folks, if you only saw the fumes coming out of my COVID-19 compliant mask, you would have assumed that I was Vaping underneath it. I wanted to cry, only because I was sooo Hangry. This was lost time and frustration that I will never able to regain back again EVER. Fast forward.. I'm at home, ready to dig in. I ordered the Juicy-Hot (Juicy which is all seasonings combined; Hot being the spice level). My food was just Meh, there were no spice at all. Where was all the ooomf??? Where's the heat??? It tasted like a below average mild spice level. SIGH again. So disappointing, so I hope that a 2nd and 3rd visit will be a much different experience, which I will update my review once that happens.

Mom can't handle spicy, she had her own family special just garlic & butter our 3rdtray. So much left overs for the next day.

Though the parking lot was busy, I was sat immediately and noticed they were not too busy on a Friday night 7:30pm - likely an indicator of the experience to come. Kaitlyn was very friendly in greeting and throughout the meal. She was obviously the only bright spot on this experience, since you see the star rating. The soda lacked carbonation in the coke, so I mentioned it tasting off to me. I switched to an Orange Fanta, and that too lacked carbonation. Ended up just eating my spicy crab combo with no drink. Which thankfully, spicy is no where near spicy at this location. Medium at best if you order spicy. Genuinely let down, especially since it is ONE cluster for $38.99. Definitely felt this was a skip, and then was shocked when the bill came... As a party of one, I was charged automatic gratuity of 12%, which is bewildering to me. Larger parties? Totally get it! But a party of one, which I was shocked but they do list on the menu of prices. I almost tipped 20% on top of the bill, until I was looking into why it was higher than I expected. Additionally, $4.99 for a soda that doesn't even have the syrup and carbonation properly calibrated?! Wowza, what a letdown for $50+ for dining alone. If you are in Jacksonville, you are surrounded by lots of good seafood places. Big crab? Personally, a pass for me.
