This is all to say that I go here lots. The staff are super quick to process you and get you into those lazy boy chairs in the back. I love the nurses who are so sweet and attentive when I say my blood drains quickly and the needle needs to be taken out promptly. And, the snacks are the best I've ever had at any Red Cross. I purposefully book morning appointments so I can have cinnamon raisin toast with butter and grape juice after my donation: perfect elevensies. So donate blood. Vampires and babies with cancer need you!

What can I say? No one 'wants' to be in hospital but…read more..... Where to start...parking. Yes there is parking. Yes you pay for the privilege to park, and they are not shy about their fees! At least they have a garage so that's something. Just my opinion but, the parking needs to be improved. A lot. Getting in and out of the car park is akin to a juggling act on a trapeze. Terrible and dangerous and whoever designed it should be ashamed......as should the powers that be that approved it. The fees are exorbitant, in my opinion, so if you're on a tight budget, think twice. *This is my only complaint thus, deducted 1star. The public and private facilities are adjacent to each other even though your gps might show you two separate addresses. I don't want to sound like I'm gushing here but, as hospital experiences go, this was excellent! Really! The lobby and reception areas are clean, bright and friendly staff. The day surgery waiting area is light, has chair seating and usually runs like a well oiled machine. Friendly staff members understand you're there for a procedure and probably nervous...and they are friendly and smiling and make it a little better, as smiles do! Once ready for procedure, while it can be redundant they asked several times pertinent questions, which was great because I had concerns that they helped to alleviate somewhat. Fast forward to an overnight recovery and the nurses are incredible, friendly and caring. 'My' nurses included Michelle and DJ. To be honest, they deserve kudos on every level! The food was better than hospital food, better than airplane food and I want to give credit where credit is due....but don't expect it to be 5star restaurant quality because you'll be disappointed. All in all, as hospital stays go, St Vincent's is really wonderful! Runs like a well oiled machine, clean and beautiful, and more importantly to me, excellent staff members, non-medical and medical. If they can improve anything, it would be the car park.

Staff are very friendly and professional, and the centre itself is very clean and modern. They keep to appointments well. Every time I've been in, I've barely waited a few minutes before I'm working through the interview and sitting in the donation chair. There are screens in the donation area showing free to air TV (with subtitles) so you have something to look at if you didn't bring something to read. Refreshments are available after your donation. Nut bars, muffins, biscuits and cheese are available as well as a selection of milkshakes! Whole blood donations take around 30mins and plasma about an hour (including the interview). A worthy investment of time for the value your blood donation can deliver to others!

Whatever your reasoning, the Red Cross Blood Donor Centre is a good place to do it. Unlike mobile blood banks, the permanent donors centre is settled in itself, and ready to go all the time - there's never a horrendous four-hour wait to do something that is, at its core, voluntary and unpleasant. The staff here are incredibly chatty, with both the donors and each other. The camaraderie in the environment tends to take your mind off the blood coming out of your veins - all for a good cause, of course! The centre is very clean, and donor comfort is clearly a priority - privacy is treated with incredible importance, and the after-donation food is good! When you leave, the staff make a point of thanking you, because you helped to save three lives with your blood donation!

The service is friendly and they are generally pretty quick with their appointments. I've had to wait 10 minutes every once in awhile but overall I think this is a pretty great medical centre. It's clean and quick and the doctors seem to care. The pay is $90 if you don't have medicare, so a bit more expensive than others, but the also offer other services beyond GP visits that would be very expensive if you were to go to a private practice.

Guess when it's less than a week from Xmas, places like this could be slow! This location is great. Kiaora Place has covered parking, first hour free(!), and is steps away from the spanking brand new library,lots of cafes, shops and, of course, a huge Woolworth's! Medscan is on the top floor near the library. Medscan is beautiful and very clean. The staff are very accommodating and so friendly! Like, I almost want to go there just to hang out! Any imaging you need can be done in the hub of Double Bay! You're welcome!

I couldn't decide on whether to give this place 2 stars or 3…read more I'm going with 2 because they have 3 receptionists and the place still moves at a snails pace and they forget to tell the waiting people if there are delays with equipment and appointments. Granted I walked in off the street to just get a few x-rays of my shoulder. I didn't wait very long and the lady that actually took the x-rays was rather rude and abrupt. Told me off for my tragus ring that didn't come off and how young people these days go and get piercings without thinking. Yeah thanks. Just take the damn x-ray huh? If that was all it would have been great. However she then proceeded to manhandle me into the right "pose". As in jerking me around. I was not impressed. She proceeded to them tell me she was sorry for jerking me around into positions but how else is she meant to get the right shot? Uh, here's an idea, how about you know, asking me like normal people do?! Unfortunately this is the only imaging place locally so you just go get your stuff done and leave again.

Kind clear pleasant concise direction by the technician is always good. No appointment is required and they bulk bill. I was told X-ray prints would be available in 5 mins but they didn't come through for 25 mins after shots were taken so make sure you ask them to check if your scan is ready if you're waiting longer than 10 mins. Nice 50" HD TVS to watch while waiting. WARNING: street parking only so pray to the parking gods for mercy or catch the train. Campsie train station is extremely close.

An art deco building with water views? Is this really a hospital?…read more My experience at Castlecrag Hospital was really quite pleasant, which was completely unexpected. It's a little hospital, built in 1928, surrounded by out-of-place looking palm trees. I half expected to see people walking around in linen suits, straw hats, and nurses all wearing white, with little white hats. That didn't turn out to be the case. Nonetheless, the staff were all so nice, and professional and personal. They seemed well organised too. The food was even pretty decent (fresh bread, reasonable soup, fresh fruit salad, ... didn't eat much else.) And ... amazingly, my cute little shared room had a water view. It all made me feel very chipper. Or maybe it's just the pain drugs. Anyway, if your health cover lets you go for a private hospital, this is a nice one to come to. They seem to do a lot of orthopedic stuff, and do not have an emergency ward. I tend to think Yelp is not the place for medical-related reviews, but since this one is positive, I doubt anyone is going to sue me.

I had the fortune to be cared for at this facility recently and was most delighted to find myself reclining in my own suite with waterviews down Middle Harbour. Think 5-star HOspiTEL. With it's already impressive facade, attention has been turned to the interiors which I noted as I was wheeled past some painters on the way to theatre. They were busy eradicating some particularly nasty terracotta walls and I was busy finding an angle that would flatter my ageing jawline. The nursing staff were attentive, prompt to respond to calls to action and just a healthy amount of jaded. The care I received was outstanding and the medication was pretty good too - which is perhaps why I slurred to the Night Nurse. "You know you have such a wonderful way about you, you were born to do this. You're my little Florence aren't you. I think it's your smile. It makes me feel safe. Can I take you home. I feel sleepy. Did I pee?". Thankfully for all the Morphine kicked in at this point.
