They cut pieces of wood to specific dimensions for a small amount of money, and this makes most things much easier. They work in both metric and imperial measurements. It is a great place for whatever odds and ends you may ever need.

What keeps me loyal to this shop is the friendliness and helpfulness of the owners. They give good advice and do not automatically steer customers to the most expensive options. This shop is off the beaten path but well worth a visit, especially during spring and autumn when they stock a lot of plants. It was a year before I ever entered this store after relocating to East Oxford; now I wish I hadn't waited that long - this place is a gem.

I have found the prices in comparison with chain stores mixed though more often than not they are cheaper. I love the second hand furniture they sell. There is some really retro stuff on occasion. I bought a great stool for £6 which I will reupholster and a stylish 1960s chest of drawers for £16. Open useful hours weekends and bank holidays too.

It doesn't matter what sort of DIY your trying to do there is always someone there who has the necessary knowledge to help you. It's only a small store but they make the most of the space and it's packed full of stuff, which although not as cheap as the superstores is worth it for the back up you get. The most handy thing they have is off to the side of the store. If you want wood cut to size they have a wall mounted cutter and will happily cut boards and planks to your exact requirements. I've not been here in some time but they certainly know their stuff and it's worth using them over anyone else in the area.

Quality is better than a discount store, and range of useful items is about as good. Moreover, service is friendly and very competent.
