There is enough parking for a dozen or so cars out front. They have a large children's clothes section and even have wedding dresses for sale. They do have a decent amount of furnishings, dishware, shoes, music, purses, etc. In the back of the store they have a large warehouse area filled with glassware, some electronics and women's clothing. I rarely go there without finding some bargains though and their book section is cheap, cheap, cheap! The people working there are the greatest, very friendly. I went there a couple of weeks after my brain surgery (I was still pretty spastic and weak with poor balance) and the lady behind the counter insisted in helping me move a small table out to the car to make sure I didn't injure myself; very sweet. I'm pretty much hooked on the place and regularly visit when I'm in Corpus Christi.

I'm unable to take advantage of all that they sell because I don't deal in clothes or jewelry. When I take a lady friend with me, she has found some useful clothing. Personally, since I'm a picker/reseller I find initial prices a bit high to be able to make a reasonable profit but, I have on occasion found a few bargains. Their prices tend to be a little close to retail which, if you're shopping for yourself is not an issue. They do have price decreases after stock has been in the store unsold for a determined time which, while nice isn't much help because when I visit, most of the items on hand have been put out recently enough that discounts don't apply. Not living in the area, I only visit intermittently (when I need medical imaging across the street from the shop or visit Luciano's restaurant) so I don't have the opportunity to note the discount days on interesting items and visit the location on the appropriate day. So, if making a "killing" on the price is not all that important to you because you are the end user I recommend this shop. If you are a reseller, while it's possible to find something you can resell at a profit I don't think the likelihood is all that high. However, if you happen to be in the area on other business it's definitely worth dropping by.

We pulled up near the front entrance and were immediately confronted by an aggressive young homeless man wanting money. He wouldn't let me get out of the car and then started angrily lecturing me. There were other indigent people around the entrance as well so we just backed up and left. I'm all for helping the poor, but when they obstruct your business and prevent your customers from coming in, then your business suffers.

One thing about this shop is that everything is well merchandised and properly compartmentalized. There are certain sectioned off areas which feature specific items. The clothing is better than much of what you would find at your local Goodwill and the prices are about the same. They have everything you would expect a decent thrift shop would have, but everything looks in better condition than you would see at a Goodwill. And once you find everything you wanna purchase, you spin the wheel to see how much you can save, up to 50% if you're lucky. If you are into thrifting and you're in Corpus Christi, this should be on your list.

I've honestly never been disrespected more in my life than my trip to Auvil's…read more I came into the store with my wife and two gentlemen were at the front talking to each other, when I'm guessing the one who worked there asked if he could help us. I told him "no, we are just looking around". My wife and I made our way through the store, and upon going towards the back we noticed an open door to what seemed to be another room with merchandise neatly displayed with prices so we assumed it was merchandise for sale. We were in there for about 30 seconds when the employee from the front came back into the room and said very aggressively "can I help you?". I told him once again no that we were just looking around. He then again aggressively told us "well if you aren't talking money you need to get up out my store, I don't have time to waste with y'all". We then fearfully made a quick walk to the front door and left. It seemed like there is some kind of illegal activity going on in the back of the business and we stumbled upon something that we weren't supposed to see.
