If you love coffee and artisanal sandwiches then this is your cafe! We decided to go for a drive down to Mukilteo since the weather was beautiful. I really needed some fresh ocean air with a nice view. On our way down to the beach, we saw the sign for the cafe and since we were both deprived of coffee, we stopped to give it a try! Parking was very easy to find and the cafe is very popular as it was very crowded. The outdoor space had many places to sit along with umbrellas for shade. I ordered an iced vanilla latte and a rosemary and chive bagel with cream cheese. My bf tried their iced vanilla toddy and breakfast croissant. We found a lovely table outside and the service was amazing as they brought your order to your table! The coffee was really really good and the food was superb! We enjoyed our meals with a lovely view of the water and cool breeze. Really love this little cafe and will definitely be coming back again! read more

We have visited Red Cup Cafe many times over the years & it has always been excellent. They serve Whidbey coffee, which is the best. Their sandwiches and other food goodies are delicious. If they are busy, the wait can be a bit long, but everything is made to order & worth the wait. Be patient, sit outside & enjoy the view. Great location & great staff! There's some nice shops next door to visit as well. read more

Rolling through Seattle and staying in Everett. On the hunt for some morning caffeine and this place popped up. It's a family run business, so cute, "Mom" is a sweet grandma who is busy keeping all the tables clean and sanitized, and is very serious about her job. There is a little chaos behind the counter as there's numerous people popping in and out taking orders and handing out deliveries. There was some inside seating available as well as gorgeous outdoor seating areas. The view is lovely. This was a four to five star but I went with five because family run businesses are so hard to do and they're obviously making it work - even through COVID. read more

Only gripes are too much mayonnaise in their deli sandwiches and need some training on how to use the espresso machine. Food is super basic. Asked for a latte... was not a latte. Just a lot of frothy steamed milk and slight hint of coffee. Should have the roaster, Whidbey Coffee come out for training and maybe tune up the espresso machine. The second try at a latte was only slightly better. Maybe a field trip for owner and staff to Narrative Coffee, or Southfork or Red Twig, or Walnut? Also, your menu isn't great for food either. Sample the food at the aforementioned coffee shops. Southfork or Macrina can supply good food menu offerings. You can do much better and have been better in the past. My three little kids and I came through this morning after we got off the ferry. We'd had a long weekend on Whidbey visiting a friend and had a long drive ahead of us. This place checked all the boxes for me. My vanilla latte was delicious and quite foamy, just the way I like it. Kids were quite happy with their muffin, cinnamon roll, and scone. Prices were pleasantly reasonable! Atmosphere was great. We sat at the communal table and others who were clearly regulars were friendly. I have an array of food allergies and I am not always able to eat food in all restaurants so when my friends want to go somewhere I just bring food that I am able to eat when I have no options at the place they want to eat. Everyone needs to win in the end so that's why they don't work around me I work around them. I came in here with my food because I am unable to eat the food they sell here and I was told "I don't want to be a b!tch, but you can't bring outside food, it is a health code violation" in no world is it a health code violation unless she talking about the food she she touches with her bare hands. Coffee and tea tasted good. They offer my favorite tea here: genmaicha which is toasted rice tea. Also I have been looking for a cafe that sells lemon bars! This place has the best ones and did I mention their seats have amazing views? I visited twice during winter and spring so did not sit outside but they do offer outdoor seating. Way to lose regulars -- we showed up a week ago to buy coffee beans: sold out. We asked them to set aside beans the next they came in: "Sure...no problem they said" We showed up today and were lucky they had what we were looking for as they made no effort to set aside our order. Nada... When we arrived, they looked confused, quickly scrambled, then set us on our way with our unmarked coffee in brown bags so ghetto I had to laugh. Those bags were a gift to an out of state friend, who just loved her experience at Red Cup, and wanted their coffee. We came here on a Saturday afternoon around 4pm and it was pretty crowded. It was a nice day out and the outdoor area has a great view of the water and ferries going back and forth as this place sits atop the hill above the waterfront. Street parking is hard to get into (one way drive) and there aren't a ton of spots. We stood in line to order and when it was our turn, we found out they had run out of many of the items on the menu, including those in the glass case. The section of pastries was lacking and we had to settle for some of the allergy friendly cookies that were made offsite and brought in. the staff was friendly and we got to enjoy the outside, but I wish they had their full menu available. read more

A cute coffee shop by the water! I love the cozy interior and lovely views you get. You can choose to sit indoors or outdoors under lovely umbrella covered tables. Their staff are friendly and joyful! I loved the variety of foods you can get; from sandwiches to wraps to salads! They also have pastries as well :) I just got a simple asiago bagel that was perfectly toasted and it came with WHIPPED cream cheese (yuuuuum!). I also got a soy milk latte - for those who do not like acidic coffee, have no worries because the blend they use is more on the nutty and chocolately side! The coffee is seriously mediocre. I'd say my 12oz latte is comparable to Starbucks - drinkable, but you can get it on any corner. My latte had way too much foam. 3 stars for coffee. For the digital nomad, note they do request you limit your stay to 2 hours, though I did see two people with laptops out working away. read more

I was not a fan of this place at all. We originally went to the area for some chocolate but the place was closed so we went around the corner for a drink. Upon entering I got this weird smell in my nose I couldn't pin point it. I ordered an almond milk peppermint hot chocolate my daughter got a strawberry Italian soda. While she liked hers and said the whip cream was really good I couldn't take more than 2 drinks of mine it was just way too sweet. But what got me was the smell I don't know if it was where I was standing but it smelt like an old cup with an espresso that had been in it for 6 months. I also was not impressed with the $8 it cost to have a 12oz and a 16oz drink. The service was sub par. I'm big on good service and the guy was just short and not friendly at all and we were the only ones in line :(. I wish I could give this a good review because I love local businesses but I can't :( read more

The coffee is good because they serve Whidbey Coffee. The courtyard is beautiful to hang out on warm sunny days. I've always had good luck with the service. The wait staff has always been kind, so no complaints. A small space, so if you want to get a table during busy hours, get there early. My delicious cup of finely crafted coffee in this great place was such an unexpected treat. The baked items and breakfasts being served smelled delicious. (I'll indulge next time.) The small outdoor terrace is charming. They have their terraced seating overlooking the Mulkiteo Ferry, Sound and beautiful islands beyond. I stumbled upon the Red Cup Cafe only because I was in Mulkiteo for a haircut at Taya's Salon which I also highly, highly recommend! I had a few minutes before my hair appointment and so planned to quickly pop in but then just had to take an outside seat for a few to enjoy the stunning view. Wow! BTW the service was great and waitstaff were friendly and cheerful. It was 8:45 am on a Sunday and the restaurant was pretty full , but no wait, with some regulars which is a good sign. I sat outside to enjoy the trees, flowers, and the sound. Plenty of seating outside in a garden atmosphere. Directly off the Mukilteo Speedway. Limited parking for small cars next to the building, but plenty of street parking between 4th and 5th where the city has 4-hour parking places. read more

Cute little cafe house. My husband and and I went in to order gluten free breakfast sandwiches. I saw the menu and there was a "gluten free egg stack". I asked, does that come with gluten free or is it bread less? She said they could do either. I said ok, I'll do it with the bread, no cheese. Make that 2 of them. Then I made it a little more complicated and asked that one of the sandwiches actually has only 1 egg instead of 2. Between the face masks and plexiglass there was some miscommunication because we ended up with THREE breakfast sandwiches, all had cheese and none of them had avocado. Lol I can't have cheese so I needed them to remake it. Which they did but then forgot the avocado, again on 2 of them. Haha wtf. They were delicious though and nice about it. Stayed in Mukilteo while visiting my wife's sister. The staff at Red Cup were fantastic. They have gluten free options and are wonderfully accommodating. We got espresso and chai from them as well that we're great. We loved everything about the place, the character, the location near the ferry, the outside patio with wood carved statues. This is honestly becoming a new home and a place to meet new people in the Mukilteo area for me. I'm not from here (from San Antonio for Boeing) and the people working here are super friendly especially Megan and Lindsey. I get a mocha with raspberry whip cream that is solid, and consistent. For me local spots need that consistency, yeah it's not in a pretty cup or anything and food is typical served in a plastic red basket but it's still solid food. Plus it's next door to a chocolate shop that has great sweets and ice cream (from Seattle). I would rate this place a 4 usually but friendliness and eccentric decor/seating pushes it to a 5. read more

It's a sunny Saturday morning... I'm overlooking the puget sound in the corner table in one of my favorite cafes. Red Cup is an eclectic haven from the bustle of life. The ferry traffic flies past me as I have my first bite of the Taos. Staff recommended and definitely as must try! Generous helping of turkey with cream cheese and a green chili sauce on perfectly toasted bread - this is a taste sensation! Like... Wow! Enough zing for personality but sweet enough that I want to enjoy the drops left in the paper. I really enjoy Whidbey coffee and this morning perhaps it's the sunshine or the butter rum flavoring, but it is a bliss moment.
