Excellent family friendly experience! Don't believe the negative reviews. This was an incredible hands on, educational experience packed with loads of information about no only the species you'll see up close and personal, but also those which live sound the world. Our whole family was delighted to hand feed and pet countless deer, see them sparring in close yet safe proximity, and learn about different characteristics (even the pupils of their eyes can indicate their native region), and behaviors. The tractor ride was enjoyable and the tour guide (owner?) was incredibly kind, informative and professional. The gift shop was reasonably priced as was the entire ride/feed experience. This is a farm, just like farms that raise chickens, pigs, cows, etc. The experience is positive, educational, and highly recommended. Call for reservations as sometimes during the year they run on limited hours.

It's a hay ride around a bunch of fields with a bunch of red deer. (red deer look more like elk than white tails for people who don't know) The deer are raised and bred to be bigger and healthier and grow massive antlers. While on the ride you stop a few times to feed the deer. They walk over to you and you can give them treats and touch them. It's pretty neat. It is a farm though, so eventually probably ever deer will end up as food as some point in time. They do offer hunts which are quite expensive and they do not require you to have a hunting license. As a hunter, I wouldn't really compare it to a real hunt and wouldn't recommend the hunt. But I'm sure it's how they get a ton of money because some people want those trophies. I just don't see it as a trophy, you don't really work for it, you pay for it. Anyway, it's cool to go out and feed the deer.

The whole experience was awesome! Riding the wagon, feeding the deer, hanging out with friends: would totally do again!

Ok. Let me explain the 3 star rating. If you're a shopper…read moreyou will be pretty happy as it's always packed with vendors. Last time I was there was last summer so writing this a year later. Food selection is very good and reasonable prices. The drive to get there is beautiful, or you can use the interstate nearby. Most vendors have reasonable prices. Huge selection of options to buy stuff. Now, I tried setting up and selling as a vendor. THAT WAS A DISASTER! I actually LOST MONEY trying to sell stuff . I didn't make even $25 and I had an entire truck filled with all kinds of items. The area is extremely poor. The people who were there to shop were mostly broke. They want every thing for a dollar. Lots of " I'll be back" and "I'll think about it". That's code for "I'm broke" lol. So, if you're a shopper Theres lots to buy at good prices. If your a vendor hats not food then good luck making money. I think the only reason vendors go is because it's open on Wednesday and no other markets are so the vendors come. That entire area for miles and multiple towns are economically depressed. Definitely not economically viable. So if you have cash to downs you'll be very happy here.
